Colossians 4

1 Ye masters, doe vnto your seruants, that which is iust, and equall, knowing that ye also haue a master in heauen.

Vós, senhores, fazei o que fôr de justiça e equidade a vossos servos, sabendo que tambem tendes um Senhor nos céus.

2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the fame with thankesgiuing,

Perseverae em oração, velando n'ella com acção de graças:

3 Praying also for vs, that God may open vnto vs the doore of vtterance, to speake ye mysterie of Christ: wherefore I am also in bonds,

Orando tambem juntamente por nós, para que Deus nos abra a porta da palavra, para fallarmos do mysterio de Christo, pelo qual estou tambem preso;

4 That I may vtter it, as it becommeth mee to speake.

Para que o manifeste, como me convém fallar.

5 Walke wisely towarde them that are without, and redeeme the season.

Andae com sabedoria para com os que estão de fóra, remindo o tempo.

6 Let your speach be gracious alwayes, and powdred with salt, that ye may know how to answere euery man.

A vossa palavra seja sempre agradavel, adubada com sal, para que saibaes como vos convém responder a cada um.

7 Tychicus our beloued brother and faithfull minister, and fellow seruant in the Lord, shall declare vnto you my whole state:

Tychico, irmão amado e fiel ministro, e conservo no Senhor, vos fará saber o meu estado:

8 Whom I haue sent vnto you for the same purpose that he might know your state, and might comfort your hearts,

O qual vos enviei para o mesmo fim, para que saiba do vosso estado e console os vossos corações;

9 With Onesimus a faithfull and a beloued brother, who is one of you. They shall shew you of all things here.

Juntamente com Onesimo, amado e fiel irmão, que é dos vossos; elles vos farão saber tudo o que por aqui se passa.

10 Aristarchus my prison fellow saluteth you, and Marcus, Barnabas cousin (touching whom ye receiued commandements. If he come vnto you, receiue him)

Aristarcho, que está preso comigo, vos sauda, e Marcos, o sobrinho de Barnabé, ácerca do qual já recebestes mandamentos; se fôr ter comvosco, recebei-o;

11 And Iesus which is called Iustus, which are of the circumcision. These onely are my worke fellowes vnto the kingdome of God, which haue bene vnto my consolation.

E, Jesus, chamado Justo: os quaes são da circumcisão: são estes só os meus cooperadores no reino de Deus; e para mim teem sido consolação.

12 Epaphras the seruant of Christ, which is one of you, saluteth you, and alwayes striueth for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect, and full in all the will of God.

Sauda-vos Epaphras, que é dos vossos, servo de Christo, combatendo sempre por vós em orações, para que fiqueis firmes, perfeitos e consumados em toda a vontade de Deus.

13 For I beare him record, that he hath a great zeale for you, and for them of Laodicea, and them of Hierapolis.

Pois eu lhe dou testemunho de que tem grande zelo por vós, e pelos que estão em Laodicea, e pelos que estão em Hierapolis.

14 Luke the beloued physician greeteth you, and Demas.

Sauda-vos Lucas, o medico amado, e Damas.

15 Salute the brethren which are of Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the Church which is in his house.

Saudae aos irmãos que estão em Laodicea, e a Nympha e á egreja que está em sua casa.

16 And when this Epistle is read of you, cause that it be read in the Church of the Laodiceans also, and that ye likewise reade the Epistle written from Laodicea.

E, quando esta epistola tiver sido lida entre vós, fazei que tambem seja lida na egreja dos laodicenses, e a que veiu de Laodicea lede-a vós tambem.

17 And say to Archippus, Take heede to the ministerie, that thou hast receiued in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.

E dizei a Archippo: Attenta para o ministerio que recebeste no Senhor; para que o cumpras.

18 The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bands. Grace be with you, Amen. ‘Written from Rome to the Colossians, and sent by Tychicus, and Onesimus.’

Saudação de minha mão, de Paulo. Lembrae-vos das minhas prisões. A graça seja comvosco. Amen
