1 ⲁ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲡϣⲁⲁ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲓⲥ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ
After these things, there was a Jewish festival, and Yeshua went up to Jerusalem.
2 ⲃ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲟⲗⲩⲙⲃⲏⲑⲣⲁ ⲇⲉ ϩⲛ ⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲩⲥⲁⲗⲏⲙ ϩⲓϫⲛ ⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲃⲁⲧⲓⲕⲏ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲙⲙⲛⲧϩⲉⲃⲣⲁⲓⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲃⲏⲇⲥⲁⲓⲇⲁ ⲉⲣⲉϯ ⲥⲧⲟⲁ ϩⲓϫⲱⲥ
Now in Jerusalem by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda”, having five porches.
3 ⲅ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ϩⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ⲛϭⲁⲗⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲃⲗⲗⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ
In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralysed, waiting for the moving of the water;
4 ⲇ̅
for an angel went down at certain times into the pool and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had.
5 ⲉ̅ ⲛⲉⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲁⲃ ϣⲙⲏⲛⲉ ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥϣⲱⲛⲉ
A certain man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 ⲋ̅ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲓⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ⲉϥⲛⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲁϥⲉⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲱⲥⲕ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
When Yeshua saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”
7 ⲍ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧϣⲱⲛⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲙⲛϯ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲡⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲱϩ ⲉϥⲉⲛⲟϫⲧ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲉⲧⲕⲟⲗⲩⲙⲃⲏⲑⲣⲁ ϩⲟⲥⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲏⲩ ϣⲁⲣⲉⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲣ ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ ⲉⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ
The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, but while I’m coming, another steps down before me.”
8 ⲏ̅ ⲡⲉϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲅϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
Yeshua said to him, “Arise, take up your mat, and walk.”
9 ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϥⲓ ⲡⲉϥϭⲗⲟϭ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
Immediately, the man was made well, and took up his mat and walked. Now that day was a Sabbath.
10 ⲓ̅ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲱ ϭⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲗⲟ ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲧⲟ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ
So the Judeans said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to carry the mat.”
11 ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲕϭⲗⲟϭ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
He answered them, “He who made me well said to me, ‘Take up your mat and walk.’”
12 ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⲁⲩϫⲛⲟⲩϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲕ ϫⲉ ϥⲓⲧϥ ⲛⲅⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ
Then they asked him, “Who is the man who said to you, ‘Take up your mat and walk’?”
13 ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲗⲟ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲁϥⲥⲉϩⲧϥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ
But he who was healed didn’t know who it was, for Yeshua had withdrawn, a crowd being in the place.
14 ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲁⲓⲥ ϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲓⲥ ϩⲏⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲕⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲣⲕⲟⲧⲕ ⲉⲣ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲉⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲁⲓ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲕ
Afterward Yeshua found him in the temple and said to him, “Behold, you are made well. Sin no more, so that nothing worse happens to you.”
15 ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲗϭⲟⲓ
The man went away, and told the Judeans that it was Yeshua who had made him well.
16 ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲣⲉⲛ ⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲇⲓⲱⲕⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ
For this cause the Judeans persecuted Yeshua and sought to kill him, because he did these things on the Sabbath.
17 ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ ⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲣ ϩⲱⲃ ϣⲁϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲣ ϩⲱⲃ
But Yeshua answered them, “My Father is still working, so I am working, too.”
18 ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϭⲉ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲛⲉⲩϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲉⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲃⲱⲗ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲥⲁⲃⲃⲁⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲟⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϥϣⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
For this cause therefore the Judeans sought all the more to kill him, because he not only broke the Sabbath, but also called God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
19 ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ϭⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲙⲛ ϣϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲟⲩⲁⲁϥ ⲉⲓⲙⲏⲧⲓ ⲛϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉϥⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ϩⲟⲙⲟⲓⲱⲥ ϥⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ
Yeshua therefore answered them, “Most certainly, I tell you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father doing. For whatever things he does, these the Son also does likewise.
20 ⲕ̅ ⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲥⲁⲃⲟϥ ⲉϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁⲩ ⲉⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲣ ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ
For the Father has affection for the Son, and shows him all things that he himself does. He will show him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21 ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲟⲩⲛⲉⲥ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲧⲁⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲁⲛϩⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϥⲟⲩⲁϣⲟⲩ
For as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom he desires.
22 ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲁⲥ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ
For the Father judges no one, but he has given all judgement to the Son,
23 ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲧⲁⲓⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲙⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛϥⲧⲁⲓⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟϥ
that all may honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He who doesn’t honour the Son doesn’t honour the Father who sent him.
24 ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲡⲁϣⲁϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛϥⲛⲏⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲱⲛϩ (aiōnios g166)
“Most certainly I tell you, he who hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life, and doesn’t come into judgement, but has passed out of death into life. (aiōnios g166)
25 ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲥⲙⲏ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ
Most certainly I tell you, the hour comes, and now is, when the dead will hear the Son of God’s voice; and those who hear will live.
26 ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲱⲛϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲙⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲕⲱ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲱⲛϩ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ
For as the Father has life in himself, even so he gave to the Son also to have life in himself.
27 ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲡⲉ
He also gave him authority to execute judgement, because he is a son of man.
28 ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲣⲣ ϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲛⲧⲁⲫⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲧⲉϥⲥⲙⲏ
Don’t marvel at this, for the hour comes in which all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
29 ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲥⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁⲛⲟⲩϥ ⲉⲩⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲉⲑⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ
and will come out; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life; and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of judgement.
30 ⲗ̅ ⲙⲙⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲉⲣ ⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲱⲃ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲁⲧ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉϯⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲉⲓⲕⲣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧⲁⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲉ ⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲉⲓϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲁⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓ
I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgement is righteous, because I don’t seek my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
31 ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ ⲉϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲉⲓϣⲁⲛⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲧⲁⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲧⲉ
“If I testify about myself, my witness is not valid.
32 ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲉⲧⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲁⲩⲱ ϯⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲧϥⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ
It is another who testifies about me. I know that the testimony which he testifies about me is true.
33 ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ
You have sent to Yochanan, and he has testified to the truth.
34 ⲗ̅ⲇ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲓ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
But the testimony which I receive is not from man. However, I say these things that you may be saved.
35 ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ ⲛⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲡϩⲏⲃⲥ ⲉⲧⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲣ ⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲧⲉⲗⲏⲗ ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲛ ⲡⲣⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓⲛ
He was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.
36 ⲗ̅ⲋ̅ ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲉⲛⲁⲁⲁⲥ ⲉⲧⲁ ⲓⲱϩⲁⲛⲛⲏⲥ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲁⲓⲱⲧ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲓ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲉⲓⲉϫⲟⲕⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉϯⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ
But the testimony which I have is greater than that of Yochanan; for the works which the Father gave me to accomplish, the very works that I do, testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
37 ⲗ̅ⲍ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲣ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲓ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲥⲙⲏ ⲛⲧⲁϥ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲃ ⲛⲧⲁϥ
The Father himself, who sent me, has testified about me. You have neither heard his voice at any time, nor seen his form.
38 ⲗ̅ⲏ̅ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲙⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲡⲏ ⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩϥ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲛ
You don’t have his word living in you, because you don’t believe him whom he sent.

“You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about me. (aiōnios g166)

Yet you will not come to me, that you may have life.
41 ⲙ̅ⲁ̅ ⲛⲉⲓϫⲓ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲣⲱⲙⲉ

But I know you, that you don’t have God’s love in yourselves.
