Deuteronomy 18:1
The priests and the Levites—all the tribe of Levi—shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel. They shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire and his portion.

| لاَ يَرِثُ الْكَهَنَةُ اللاَّوِيُّونَ وَلاَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ سِبْطِ لاَوِي مِلْكاً أَو نَصِيباً مَعَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ. إِنَّمَا يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ مُحْرَقَاتِ الرَّبِّ وَنَصِيبِهِ. |

“लेवीय याजकों का, वरन् सारे लेवीय गोत्रियों का, इस्राएलियों के संग कोई भाग या अंश न हो; उनका भोजन हव्य और यहोवा का दिया हुआ भाग हो।
लेवी पुरोहितों का, अर्थात् समस्त लेवी गोत्र का, शेष इस्राएली गोत्रों के साथ कोई भी मीरास प्रदान नहीं की गई है. उनका भोजन होगा याहवेह को समर्पित भेंटें और याहवेह का अंश.
A Lévita-papoknak, a Lévi egész nemzetségének ne legyen se része, se öröksége Izráellel, hanem éljenek az Úrnak tüzes áldozatjaiból és örökségéből.

Những thầy tế lễ về dòng Lê-vi, và cả chi phái Lê-vi không có phần, cũng không có sản nghiệp chung với Y-sơ-ra-ên. Chúng sẽ hưởng những của tế lễ dùng lửa dâng cho Ðức Giê-hô-va, và cơ nghiệp Ngài, mà nuôi lấy mình.
“Vì các thầy tế lễ và toàn thể đại tộc Lê-vi không có một phần đất như các đại tộc khác của Ít-ra-ên, họ sẽ sinh sống bằng các lễ vật người ta đem dâng lên Chúa Hằng Hữu, kể cả lễ vật thiêu trên bàn thờ.
