افسسیان 5

۱ 1 پس چون فرزندان عزیز به خدا اقتدا کنید.

Therefore imitate God, as his dear children,

۲ 2 و در محبت رفتار نمایید، چنانکه مسیح هم ما را محبت نمود و خویشتن را برای ما به خداهدیه و قربانی برای عطر خوشبوی گذرانید.

and live a life of love, following the example of the Christ, who loved you and gave himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God, that should be fragrant and acceptable.

۳ 3 اما زنا و هر ناپاکی و طمع در میان شما هرگزمذکور هم نشود، چنانکه مقدسین را می‌شاید.

As for sexual immorality and every kind of impurity, or greed, do not let them even be mentioned among you, as befits Christ’s people,

۴ 4 ونه قباحت و بیهوده‌گویی و چرب زبانی که اینها شایسته نیست بلکه شکرگزاری.

nor shameful conduct, nor foolish talk or jesting, for they are wholly out of place among you; but rather thanksgiving.

۵ 5 زیرا این را یقین می‌دانید که هیچ زانی یا ناپاک یا طماع که بت‌پرست باشد، میراثی در ملکوت مسیح و خداندارد.

For of this you may be sure – that no one who is unchaste or impure or greedy of gain (for to be greedy of gain is idolatry) has any place awaiting him in the kingdom of the Christ and God.

۶ 6 هیچ‌کس شما را به سخنان باطل فریب ندهد، زیرا که به‌سبب اینها غضب خدا بر ابنای معصیت نازل می‌شود.

Do not let anyone deceive you with specious arguments. Those are the sins that bring down the wrath of God on the disobedient.

۷ 7 پس با ایشان شریک مباشید.

Therefore have nothing to do with such people.

۸ 8 زیرا که پیشتر ظلمت بودید، لیکن الحال درخداوند نور می‌باشید. پس چون فرزندان نوررفتار کنید.

For, although you were once in darkness, now, by your union with the Lord, you are in the light. Live as children of light –

۹ 9 زیرا که میوه نور در کمال، نیکویی وعدالت و راستی است.

for the outcome of life in the light may be seen in every form of goodness, righteousness, and sincerity –

۱۰ 10 و تحقیق نمایید که پسندیده خداوند چیست.

always trying to find out what is pleasing to the Lord.

۱۱ 11 و در اعمال بی‌ثمرظلمت شریک مباشید بلکه آنها را مذمت کنید،

Take no part in deeds of darkness, from which no good can come; on the contrary, expose them.

۱۲ 12 زیرا کارهایی که ایشان در خفا می‌کنند، حتی ذکر آنها هم قبیح است.

It is degrading even to speak of the things continually done by them in secret.

۱۳ 13 لیکن هرچیزی که مذمت شود، از نور ظاهر می‌گردد، زیرا که هرچه ظاهر می‌شود نور است.

All such actions, when exposed, have their true character made manifest by the light.

۱۴ 14 بنابراین می‌گوید‌ای تو که خوابیده‌ای، بیدار شده، از مردگان برخیز تامسیح بر تو درخشد.

For everything that has its true character made manifest is clear as light. And that is why it is said – “Sleeper, awake! Arise from the dead, and the Christ will give you light!”

۱۵ 15 پس باخبر باشید که چگونه به دقت رفتارنمایید، نه چون جاهلان بلکه چون حکیمان.

Take great care, then, how you live – not unwisely but wisely,

۱۶ 16 ووقت را دریابید زیرا این‌روزها شریر است.

making the most of every opportunity; for these are evil days.

۱۷ 17 ازاین جهت بی‌فهم مباشید، بلکه بفهمید که اراده خداوند چیست.

Therefore do not grow thoughtless, but try to understand what the Lord’s will is.

۱۸ 18 و مست شراب مشوید که درآن فجور است، بلکه از روح پر شوید.

Do not drink wine to excess, for that leads to profligacy; but seek to be filled with the Spirit of God, and speak to one another in psalms and hymns and sacred songs.

۱۹ 19 و بایکدیگر به مزامیر و تسبیحات و سرودهای روحانی گفتگو کنید و در دلهای خود به خداوندبسرایید و ترنم نمایید.

Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.

۲۰ 20 و پیوسته بجهت هرچیز خدا و پدر را به نام خداوند ما عیسی مسیح شکر کنید.

Always give thanks for everything to our God and Father, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

۲۱ 21 همدیگر را در خدا ترسی اطاعت کنید.

Submit to one another because you honour and respect Christ.

۲۲ 22 ‌ای زنان، شوهران خود را اطاعت کنیدچنانکه خداوند را.

Wives should submit to their husbands as submitting to the Lord.

۲۳ 23 زیرا که شوهر سر زن است چنانکه مسیح نیز سر کلیسا و او نجات‌دهنده بدن است.

For a man is the head of his wife, as the Christ is the head of the church – being indeed himself the Saviour of his body.

۲۴ 24 لیکن همچنانکه کلیسا مطیع مسیح است، همچنین زنان نیز شوهران خود را در هرامری باشند.

But as the church submits to the Christ, so also should wives submit to their husbands in everything.

۲۵ 25 ‌ای شوهران زنان خود را محبت نمایید، چنانکه مسیح هم کلیسا را محبت نمود وخویشتن را برای آن داد.

Husbands, love your wives, just as the Christ loved the church, and gave himself for her,

۲۶ 26 تا آن را به غسل آب بوسیله کلام طاهر ساخته، تقدیس نماید،

to make her holy, after purifying her by the washing with the water, according to his promise;

۲۷ 27 تاکلیسای مجید را به نزد خود حاضر سازد که لکه وچین یا هیچ‌چیز مثل آن نداشته باشد، بلکه تامقدس و بی‌عیب باشد.

so that he might himself bring the church, in all her beauty, into his own presence, with no spot or wrinkle or blemish of any kind, but that she might be holy and faultless.

۲۸ 28 به همین طور، بایدمردان زنان خویش را مثل بدن خود محبت نمایند زیرا هرکه زوجه خود را محبت نماید، خویشتن را محبت می‌نماید.

That is how husbands ought to love their wives – as if they were their own bodies. A man who loves his wife is really loving himself;

۲۹ 29 زیرا هیچ‌کس هرگز جسم خود را دشمن نداشته است بلکه آن راتربیت و نوازش می‌کند، چنانکه خداوند نیزکلیسا را.

for no one ever yet hated his own body. But everyone feeds his body and cares for it, just as the Christ for the church;

۳۰ 30 زانرو که اعضای بدن وی می‌باشیم، از جسم و از استخوانهای او.

for we are members of his body.

۳۱ 31 از اینجاست که مرد پدر و مادر را رها کرده، با زوجه خویش خواهد پیوست و آن دو یکتن خواهند بود.

For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and be united to his wife; and the man and his wife will become one.

۳۲ 32 این سر، عظیم است، لیکن من درباره مسیح و کلیساسخن می‌گویم.

In this there is a profound truth – I am speaking of Christ and his church.

۳۳ 33 خلاصه هریکی از شما نیز زن خود را مثل نفس خود محبت بنماید و زن شوهر خود را باید احترام نمود.

However, for you individually, let each love his wife as if she were himself; and the wife be careful to respect her husband.
