1 Timoteo 2
1 Amonesto, pues, ante todas cosas, que se hagan rogativas, oraciones, peticiones y acciones de gracias, por todos los hombres:
I exhort therefore first of all to be made entreaties, prayers intercessions, [and] thanksgivings on behalf of all men,
2 Por los reyes, y por todos los que están en autoridad; que vivamos quieta y reposadamente en toda piedad y honestidad.
for kings and all those in authority being, so that a tranquil and quiet life we may lead in all godliness and in [all] dignity.
3 Porque esto es bueno y agradable delante de Dios Salvador nuestro:
This (for *k) [is] good and acceptable before the Savior of us God,
4 El cual quiere que todos los hombres sean salvos, y que vengan al conocimiento de la verdad.
who all men desires to be saved and to [the] knowledge of [the] truth to come.
5 Porque hay un Dios, y asimismo un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, el hombre Cristo Jesús;
One for God [there is], one then mediator between God and men, [the] man Christ Jesus
6 El cual se dio a sí mismo en precio del rescate por todos, para testimonio en su propio tiempo.
the [One] having given Himself [as] a ransom for all, the testimony proper times in [their] own,
7 Para lo que yo soy puesto por predicador y apóstol, (digo verdad en Cristo, no miento, ) instruidor de las naciones en fe y verdad.
in regard to which was appointed I myself a herald and an apostle — [the] truth I am speaking (in Christ *K) not I do lie — a teacher of [the] Gentiles in faith and truth.
8 Quiero, pues, que los varones oren en todo lugar, levantando manos limpias, sin ira ni contienda.
I desire therefore to pray the men in every place lifting up holy hands apart from anger and (dissension; *NK+O)
9 Asimismo también oren las mujeres en hábito honesto, ataviándose de vergüenza y modestia; no con cabellos encrespados, o oro, o perlas, o vestidos costosos;
likewise also women in apparel respectable with modesty and self-control adorning themselves, not with braided hair (or with gold *N+kO) or with pearls or with clothing costly,
10 Mas de buenas obras, como conviene a mujeres que profesan la piedad.
but with what is becoming to women professing [the] fear of God, through works good.
11 La mujer aprenda en silencio con toda sujeción.
A woman in quietness should learn in all submissiveness;
12 Porque no permito a la mujer enseñar, ni tomarse autoridad sobre el varón, sino estar en silencio.
To teach however a woman not I do permit nor to use authority over a man but to be in quietness.
13 Porque Adam fue formado el primero: luego Eva.
Adam for first was formed, then Eve.
14 Y Adam no fue engañado; mas la mujer siendo engañada incurrió en la prevaricación.
And Adam not was deceived, but the woman (having been deceived *N+kO) into transgression has come;
15 Empero será salva engendrando hijos, si permaneciere en la fe y caridad, y en santificación y modestia.
She will be saved however through childbearing if they shall abide in faith and in love and in holiness with self-restraint.
