1 Tesalonicenses 2
1 Porque, hermanos, vosotros sabéis que nuestra entrada a vosotros no fue vana:
And you know, my brethren, that our entrance unto you was not in vain,
2 Mas aun, habiendo padecido antes, y sido afrentados en Filipos, como vosotros sabéis, tuvimos confianza en el Dios nuestro para anunciaros el evangelio de Dios en medio de grande combate.
but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, in Philipos, and then (even) in great conflict we spoke with you with the confidence of our God the gospel of the Meshiha.
3 Porque nuestra exhortación no fue de error, ni de inmundicia, ni con engaño;
For our exhortation was not from deceit, nor from uncleanness, nor from guile;
4 Sino que como hemos sido aprobados de Dios, para que se nos encargase el evangelio; así también hablamos, no como los que agradan a los hombres, sino a Dios, el cual prueba nuestros corazones.
but as approved of Aloha to be intrusted with his gospel, so speaking as not to please men, but Aloha who trieth our hearts.
5 Porque nunca nos servimos de palabras lisonjeras, como vosotros sabéis, ni de pretexto de avaricia: Dios es testigo:
For never have we used flattering speech, as you know, nor for an occasion of covetousness, Aloha witnesseth.
6 Ni de los hombres buscamos gloria, ni de vosotros, ni de otros; aunque podíamos seros de carga como apóstoles de Cristo.
Neither have we sought glory from men, either from you or from others, though we could have been honoured ones, as the apostles of the Meshiha;
7 Antes fuimos blandos entre vosotros como nodriza, que acaricia a sus propios hijos:
but we were humble among you, and, as a nurse who loveth her children,
8 De manera que, teniéndoos grande afecto, quisiéramos entregaros no solo el evangelio de Dios, mas aun nuestras propias almas; por cuanto nos eráis muy caros.
so also we loved, and were desirous to impart to you, not only the gospel of Aloha, but also our life, because we loved you.
9 Porque os acordáis, hermanos, de nuestro trabajo y fatiga, que trabajando de noche y de día, por no ser gravosos a ninguno de vosotros, predicamos entre vosotros el evangelio de Dios.
Remember, therefore, my brethren, how we laboured and toiled in the work of our hands by night and by day, that we might not be a burden on one of you.
10 Vosotros sois testigos, y Dios también, de cuán santa, y justa, y irreprensiblemente nos portábamos entre vosotros que creísteis:
You witness and Aloha, how we preached to you the gospel of Aloha, purely and justly, and were without blame with all the faithful.
11 Como también sabéis, de qué manera exhortábamos y confortábamos y protestábamos a cada uno de vosotros, como un padre a sus propios hijos.
As you know how every one of you, as a father his children, we exhorted, and spoke with your hearts;
12 Que anduvieseis como es digno de Dios, que os llamó a su reino y gloria.
and (now) we testify to you how you should walk worthy of Aloha himself who hath called you to his kingdom and to his glory.
13 Por lo cual también nosotros damos gracias a Dios sin cesar, de que en recibiendo de nosotros la palabra de Dios, la que oísteis de nosotros, la recibisteis no como palabra de hombres, mas (como a la verdad lo es) como palabra de Dios, que también obra eficazmente en vosotros los que creéis.
WHEREFORE we also give thanks constantly unto Aloha, that the word of Aloha which you received from us, was not as the word of man (that) you received (it), but, as it is truly, the word of Aloha, which in operation worketh (alike) in you and in all them who believe.
14 Porque vosotros, hermanos, habéis sido imitadores en Cristo Jesús de las iglesias de Dios que están en Judea: que habéis padecido también vosotros las mismas cosas de los de vuestra propia nación, como también ellos de los Judíos:
But you, my brethren, have become like the churches of Aloha which are in Jihud, who are in Jeshu Meshiha, because you likewise suffer from your fellow-country-men, as they also from the Jihudoyee;
15 Los cuales mataron así al Señor Jesús como a sus mismos profetas, y a nosotros nos han perseguido; y no son agradables a Dios, y a todos los hombres son enemigos:
who killed our Lord Jeshu Meshiha, and the prophets who were of them, and ourselves have persecuted, and Aloha have not pleased,
16 Impidiéndonos para que no hablemos a los Gentiles a fin de que sean salvos; para henchir la medida de sus pecados siempre; porque la ira los ha alcanzado hasta el cabo.
and have acted adversely to all men; who forbid us to speak with the Gentiles that they might be saved; to fill up their sins for all time: but upon them cometh the wrath unto the end!
17 Mas, hermanos, nosotros privados de vosotros por un poco de tiempo, de la vista, no empero del corazón, hicimos mayor diligencia, con mucho deseo, para ver vuestro rostro.
BUT we, my brethren, having been bereaved-ones of you the time of an hour, as to our presence, but not in our heart, have been the more solicitous to see your faces with great love,
18 Por lo cual quisimos venir a vosotros, yo Pablo a la verdad, una vez y dos; mas nos estorbó Satanás.
and have wished to come to you (even) I, Paulos, one time and two; but Satana hindered me.
19 Porque ¿cuál es nuestra esperanza, o gozo, o corona de que me gloríe? ¿no lo sois pues vosotros delante del Señor nuestro Jesu Cristo en su venida?
For what is our hope and our joy, and the crown of our glorying, but you, before our Lord Jeshu at his coming?
20 Que vosotros sois en verdad nuestra gloria y gozo.
For you are our glory and our joy.
