San Lucas 12
1 Mientras tanto, cuando se había reunido una multitud de muchos miles de personas, tanto que se pisoteaban unos a otros, comenzó a decir a sus discípulos, en primer lugar: “Guardaos de la levadura de los fariseos, que es la hipocresía.
As ther gadered together an innumerable multitude of people (in so moche that they trood one another) he began to saye vnto his disciples: Fyrst of all beware of the leve of the Pharises which is ypocrisy.
2 Pero no hay nada encubierto que no se revele, ni oculto que no se sepa.
For ther is no thinge covered that shall not be vncovered: nether hyd that shall not be knowen.
3 Por tanto, lo que habéis dicho en la oscuridad se oirá en la luz. Lo que habéis dicho al oído en las habitaciones interiores se proclamará en las azoteas.
For whatsoever ye have spoken in in darknes: that same shalbe hearde in light. And that which ye have spoken in the the eare eve in secret places shalbe preached even on the toppe of the housses.
4 “Os digo, amigos míos, que no tengáis miedo de los que matan el cuerpo, y después no tienen más que hacer.
I saye vnto you my fredes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the body and after that have no moare that they can do.
5 Pero os advertiré a quién debéis temer. Temed a aquel que, después de haber matado, tiene poder para arrojar a la Gehena. Sí, os digo que le temáis. (Geenna g1067)
But I will shewe you whom ye shall feare. Feare him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. Ye I saye vnto you him feare. (Geenna g1067)
6 “¿No se venden cinco gorriones por dos monedas de asaria? Ni uno solo de ellos es olvidado por Dios.
Are not five sparowes bought for two farthinges? And yet not one of them is forgotten of God.
7 Pero los cabellos de tu cabeza están todos contados. Por eso no tengas miedo. Vosotros tenéis más valor que muchos gorriones.
Also even the very heres of youre heedes are nombred. Feare not therfore: ye are moare of value then many sparowes.
8 “Os digo que todo el que me confiese ante los hombres, el Hijo del Hombre lo hará también ante los ángeles de Dios;
I saye vnto you: Whosoever confesseth me before men eve him shall ye sonne of man confesse also before ye angels of God.
9 pero el que me niegue en presencia de los hombres, será negado en presencia de los ángeles de Dios.
And he that denyeth me before men: shalbe denyed before ye angels of God.
10 Todo el que diga una palabra contra el Hijo del Hombre será perdonado, pero los que blasfemen contra el Espíritu Santo no serán perdonados.
And whosoever speaketh a worde agaynst ye sonne of ma it shalbe forgeven him. But vnto him yt blasphemeth the holy goost it shall not be forgeven.
11 Cuando os lleven ante las sinagogas, los gobernantes y las autoridades, no os preocupéis por cómo o qué vais a responder o qué vais a decir;
When they bringe you vnto the synagoges and vnto the rulers and officers take no thought how or what thinge ye shall answer or what ye shall speake.
12 porque el Espíritu Santo os enseñará en esa misma hora lo que debéis decir.”
For the holy goost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to saye.
13 Uno de la multitud le dijo: “Maestro, dile a mi hermano que reparta la herencia conmigo”.
One of the company sayde vnto hym: Master byd my brother devide the enheritauce with me.
14 Pero él le dijo: “Hombre, ¿quién me ha hecho juez o árbitro sobre vosotros?”
And he sayde vnto him: Man who made me a iudge or a devider over you?
15 Él les dijo: “¡Cuidado! Guardaos de la codicia, porque la vida de un hombre no consiste en la abundancia de los bienes que posee.”
Wherfore he sayde vnto them: take hede and beware of covetousnes. For no mannes lyfe stondeth in the aboundaunce of the thinges which he possesseth.
16 Les contó una parábola, diciendo: “La tierra de un hombre rico producía en abundancia.
And he put forth a similitude vnto them sayinge: The groude of a certayne riche ma brought forth frutes plenteously
17 El hombre reflexionaba sobre su situación, diciendo: “¿Qué voy a hacer, porque no tengo espacio para almacenar mis cosechas?
and he thought in himsilfe sayinge: what shall I do? because I have noo roume where to bestowe my frutes?
18 Derribaré mis graneros y construiré otros más grandes, y allí almacenaré todo mi grano y mis bienes.
And he sayde: This will I do. I will destroye my barnes and bilde greater and therin will I gadder all my frutes and my goodes:
19 Le diré a mi alma: “Alma, tienes muchos bienes acumulados para muchos años. Descansa, come, bebe y alégrate”.
and I will saye to my soule: Soule thou hast moch goodes layde vp in stoore for many yeares take thyne ease: eate drinke and be mery.
20 “Pero Dios le dijo: ‘Necio, esta noche tu alma es requerida. Las cosas que has preparado, ¿de quién serán?’
But God sayde vnto him: Thou fole this night will they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall thoose thinges be which thou hast provyded?
21 Así es el que acumula tesoros para sí mismo y no es rico para con Dios.”
So is it with him that gadereth ryches and is not ryche in God.
22 Dijo a sus discípulos: “Por eso os digo que no os preocupéis por vuestra vida, por lo que vais a comer, ni por vuestro cuerpo, por lo que vais a vestir.
And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I saye vnto you: take no thought for youre lyfe what ye shall eate nether for youre body what ye shall put on.
23 La vida es más que el alimento, y el cuerpo más que el vestido.
The lyfe is moare then meate and the bodye is moare then rayment.
24 Consideren a los cuervos: no siembran, ni cosechan, no tienen almacén ni granero, y Dios los alimenta. ¡Cuánto más valéis vosotros que las aves!
Considre the ravens for they nether sowe nor repe which nether have stoorehousse ner barne and yet God fedeth them. How moche are ye better then the foules.
25 ¿Quién de vosotros puede añadir un codo a su estatura por estar ansioso?
Which of you with takynge thought can adde to his stature one cubit?
26 Pues si no sois capaces de hacer ni siquiera lo más mínimo, ¿por qué os preocupáis por lo demás?
Yf ye then be not able to do that thinge which is least: why take ye thought for the remmaunt?
27 Considerad los lirios, cómo crecen. No trabajan, ni hilan; pero os digo que ni siquiera Salomón, con toda su gloria, se vistió como uno de ellos.
Considre the lylies how they growe: They laboure not: they spyn not: and yet I saye vnto you that Salomon in all this royalte was not clothed lyke to one of these.
28 Pero si así viste Dios a la hierba del campo, que hoy existe y mañana se echa en el horno, ¿cuánto más os vestirá a vosotros, hombres de poca fe?
Yf the grasse which is todaye in the felde and tomorowe shalbe cast into the fornace God so clothe: how moche moore will he clothe you o ye endued wt litell faith?
29 “No busquéis lo que vais a comer o lo que vais a beber, ni os preocupéis.
And axe not what ye shall eate or what ye shall drinke nether clyme ye vp an hye
30 Porque las naciones del mundo buscan todas estas cosas, pero vuestro Padre sabe que necesitáis estas cosas.
for all suche thinges the hethen people of the worlde seke for. Youre father knoweth that ye have nede of suche thinges.
31 Pero buscad el Reino de Dios, y todas estas cosas os serán añadidas.
Wherfore seke ye after the kyngedome of God and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.
32 “No tengáis miedo, pequeño rebaño, porque a vuestro Padre le ha parecido bien daros el Reino.
Feare not litell floocke for it is youre fathers pleasure to geve you a kingdome.
33 Vendan lo que tienen y den regalos a los necesitados. Haceos bolsas que no envejecen, un tesoro en los cielos que no falla, donde ningún ladrón se acerca y ninguna polilla destruye.
Sell that ye have and geve almes. And make you bagges which wexe not olde and treasure that fayleth not in heaven where noo these commeth nether moth corrupteth.
34 Porque donde esté vuestro tesoro, allí estará también vuestro corazón.
For where youre treasure is there will youre hertes be also.
35 “Tened el talle vestido y las lámparas encendidas.
Let youre loynes be gerdde about and youre lightes brennynge
36 Sed como hombres que velan por su señor cuando vuelve del banquete de bodas, para que cuando venga y llame, le abran enseguida.
and ye youre selves lyke vnto men that wayte for their master when he will returne fro a weddinge: that assone as he cometh and knocketh they maye ope vnto him.
37 Bienaventurados los siervos a los que el Señor encuentre velando cuando venga. Ciertamente os digo que se vestirá, los hará sentar y vendrá a servirles.
Happy are those servauntes which the Lorde when he cometh shall fynde wakynge. Verely I saye vnto you he will gerdde him selfe about and make them sit doune to meate and walke by and minister vnto them.
38 Serán bienaventurados si viene en la segunda o tercera vigilia y los encuentra así.
And yf he come in the seconde watche ye if he come in the thyrde watche and shall fynde them soo happy are those servauntes.
39 Pero sabed esto, que si el dueño de la casa hubiera sabido a qué hora iba a venir el ladrón, habría vigilado y no habría permitido que entraran en su casa.
This vnderstonde that yf the good man of the housse knewe what houre ye these wolde come he wolde suerly watche: and not suffer his housse to be broken vp.
40 Por tanto, estad también preparados, porque el Hijo del Hombre vendrá a una hora que no esperáis.”
Be ye prepared therfore: for the sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thinke not.
41 Pedro le dijo: “Señor, ¿nos cuentas esta parábola a nosotros o a todo el mundo?”.
Then Peter sayde vnto him: Master tellest thou this similitude vnto vs or to all men?
42 El Señor dijo: “¿Quién es, pues, el administrador fiel y prudente, al que su señor pondrá al frente de su casa, para que les dé su ración de comida en los momentos oportunos?
And the Lorde sayde: If there be any faith full servaut and wise whom his Lorde shall make ruler over his housholde to geve them their duetie of meate at due season:
43 Dichoso aquel siervo al que su señor encuentre haciendo eso cuando venga.
happy is that servaunt whom his master when he cometh shall finde soo doinge.
44 En verdad os digo que le pondrá al frente de todo lo que tiene.
Of a trueth I saye vnto you: that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 Pero si ese siervo dice en su corazón: “Mi señor tarda en venir”, y comienza a golpear a los siervos y a las siervas, y a comer y a beber y a embriagarse,
But and yf the evyll servaunt shall saye in his hert: My master wyll differre his cominge and shall beginne to smyte the servauntes and maydens and to eate and drinke and to be dronken:
46 entonces el señor de ese siervo vendrá en un día que no lo espera y a una hora que no conoce, y lo partirá en dos, y pondrá su porción con los infieles.
the Lorde of that servaunt will come in a daye when he thinketh not and at an houre when he is not ware and will devyde him and will geve him his rewarde with the vnbelevers.
47 Aquel siervo que conocía la voluntad de su señor, y no se preparó ni hizo lo que él quería, será azotado con muchos azotes,
The servaut that knewe his masters will and prepared not him selfe nether dyd accordinge to his will shalbe bete with many strypes.
48 pero el que no sabía, y hacía cosas dignas de azotes, será azotado con pocos azotes. A quien se le dio mucho, se le exigirá mucho; y a quien se le confió mucho, se le pedirá más.
But he that knewe not and yet dyd committe thinges worthy of strypes shalbe beaten with feawe strypes. For vnto whom moche is geven of him shalbe moche requyred. And to whom men moche commyt the moare of him will they axe.
49 “He venido a arrojar fuego sobre la tierra. Ojalá estuviera ya encendido.
I am come to sende fyre on erth: and what is my dysyre but that it were all redy kyndled?
50 Pero tengo un bautismo con el que ser bautizado, ¡y qué angustia tengo hasta que se cumpla!
Not with stondinge I must de baptised with a baptyme: and how am I payned till it be ended?
51 ¿Creéis que he venido a dar paz en la tierra? Os digo que no, sino más bien para dividir.
Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on erth? I tell you naye: but rather debate.
52 Porque a partir de ahora, en una casa habrá cinco divididos, tres contra dos, y dos contra tres.
For fro hence forthe ther shalbe five in one housse devided thre agaynst two and two agaynst thre.
53 Estarán divididos, el padre contra el hijo, y el hijo contra el padre; la madre contra la hija, y la hija contra su madre; la suegra contra su nuera, y la nuera contra su suegra.”
The father shalbe devided agaynst the sonne and the sonne agaynst the father. The mother agaynst the doughter and the doughter agaynst the mother. The motereleawe agaynst hir doughterelawe and the doughterelawe agaynst hir motherelawe.
54 También dijo a las multitudes: “Cuando veis una nube que se levanta por el oeste, enseguida decís: ‘Va a llover’, y así sucede.
Then sayde he to the people: when ye se a cloude ryse out of the west strayght waye ye saye: we shall have a shower and soo it is.
55 Cuando sopla un viento del sur, decís: ‘Habrá un calor abrasador’, y así sucede.
And when ye se the south wynde blow ye saye: we shall have heet and it cometh to passe.
56 ¡Hipócritas! Sabéis interpretar el aspecto de la tierra y del cielo, pero ¿cómo es que no interpretáis este tiempo?
Ypocrites ye can skyll of the fassion of the erth and of the skye: but what is ye cause that ye canot skyll of this time?
57 “¿Por qué no juzgáis por vosotros mismos lo que es justo?
Ye and why iudge ye not of youre selves what is righte?
58 Porque cuando vayáis con vuestro adversario ante el magistrado, procurad con diligencia en el camino libraros de él, no sea que os arrastre al juez, y el juez os entregue al oficial, y el oficial os meta en la cárcel.
Whill thou goest with thyne adversary to the ruler: as thou arte in the waye geve diligence that thou mayst be delivered fro him least he bringe the to the iudge and the iudge delyver the to the iaylar and the iaylar cast the in to preson.
59 Te digo que de ninguna manera saldrás de allí hasta que hayas pagado hasta el último centavo.”
I tell ye thou departest not thence tyll thou have made good ye vtmost myte.
