Isaia 24
1 ECCO, il Signore vuota il paese, e lo deserta; e ne guasta la faccia, e ne disperge gli abitatori.
Behold, the Lord maketh the earth emptie, and hee maketh it waste: hee turneth it vpside downe, and scattereth abrode the inhabitants thereof.
2 E il sacerdote sarà come il popolo, il padrone come il servo, la padrona come la serva, chi compera come chi vende, chi presta come chi prende in presto, chi dà ad usura come chi prende ad usura.
And there shalbe like people, like Priest, and like seruaunt, like master, like maide, like mistresse, like bier, like seller, like lender, like borower, like giuer, like taker to vsurie.
3 Il paese sarà del tutto vuotato, e del tutto predato; perciocchè il Signore ha pronunziata questa parola.
The earth shalbe cleane emptied, and vtterly spoiled: for the Lord hath spoken this worde.
4 La terra fa cordoglio, ed è scaduta; il mondo langue, [ed] è scaduto; i più eccelsi del popolo del paese languiscono.
The earth lamenteth and fadeth away: the world is feeble and decaied: the proude people of the earth are weakened.
5 E la terra è stata contaminata sotto i suoi abitatori; perciocchè hanno trasgredite le leggi, hanno mutati gli statuti, hanno rotto il patto eterno.
The earth also deceiueth, because of the inhabitantes thereof: for they transgressed the lawes: they changed the ordinances, and brake the euerlasting couenant.
6 Perciò, l'esecrazione ha divorato il paese, e gli abitanti di esso sono stati desolati; perciò, sono stati arsi gli abitanti del paese, e pochi uomini ne son rimasti.
Therefore hath the curse deuoured the earth, and the inhabitantes thereof are desolate. Wherefore the inhabitants of the land are burned vp, and fewe men are left.
7 Il mosto fa cordoglio, la vigna langue; tutti quelli ch'erano di cuore allegro gemono.
The wine faileth, the vine hath no might: all that were of merie heart, doe mourne.
8 L'allegrezza de' tamburi è cessata, lo strepito de' festeggianti è venuto meno, la letizia della cetera è restata.
The mirth of tabrets ceaseth: the noyse of them that reioyce, endeth: the ioye of the harpe ceaseth.
9 Ei non si berrà più vino con canti, la cervogia sarà amara a quelli che la berranno.
They shall not drinke wine with mirth: strong drinke shall be bitter to them that drinke it.
10 La città è ruinata e ridotta in solitudine; ogni casa è serrata, sì che non [vi] si entra più.
The citie of vanitie is broken downe: euery house is shut vp, that no man may come in.
11 [Vi è] grido per le piazze, per mancamento del vino; ogni allegrezza è scurata, la gioia del paese è andata in cattività.
There is a crying for wine in the streetes: al ioy is darkened: the mirth of the world is gone away.
12 Nella città [non] è rimasto [altro che] la desolazione; e le porte sono rotte e ruinate.
In the citie is left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction.
13 Perciocchè avverrà in mezzo del paese, fra i popoli, come quando si scuotono gli ulivi; come, finita la vendemmia, si racimola.
Surely thus shall it bee in the middes of the earth, among the people, as the shaking of an oliue tree, and as the grapes when the vintage is ended.
14 Quelli che [saran così rimasti] alzeranno la lor voce, [e] canteranno di allegrezza; e strilleranno fin dal mare, per l'altezza del Signore.
They shall lift vp their voyce: they shall shout for the magnificence of the Lord: they shall reioyce from the sea.
15 Perciò, glorificate il Signore nel [paese de]gli Urei, il Nome del Signore Iddio d'Israele nelle isole del mare.
Wherefore praise yee the Lord in the valleis, euen the Name of the Lord God of Israel, in the yles of the sea.
16 Noi abbiamo uditi cantici dall'estremità della terra, [che dicevano: ] Gloria al giusto. Ed io ho detto: Ahi lasso me! ahi lasso me! guai a me! i disleali procedono dislealmente; anzi procedono dislealmente, della dislealtà de' più disleali.
From the vttermost part of the earth wee haue heard praises, euen glory to the iust, and I sayd, My leanesse, my leanesse, woe is mee: the transgressours haue offended: yea, the transgressours haue grieuously offended.
17 Lo spavento, la fossa, e il laccio, ti soprastano, o abitante del paese.
Feare, and the pitte, and the snare are vpon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 Ed avverrà, che chi fuggirà per lo grido dello spavento caderà nella fossa; e chi salirà fuor di mezzo della fossa sarà preso col laccio; perciocchè le cateratte da alto saranno aperte, e i fondamenti della terra tremeranno.
And hee that fleeth from the noyse of the feare, shall fall into the pit: and he that commeth vp out of the pit, shall be taken in the snare: for the windowes from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth doe shake.
19 La terra si schianterà tutta, la terra si disfarà tutta, la terra tremerà tutta.
The earth is vtterly broken downe: the earth is cleane dissolued: the earth is mooued exceedingly.
20 La terra vacillerà tutta come un ebbro, e sarà mossa dal suo luogo come una capanna; e il suo misfatto si aggraverà sopra lei; ed ella caderà, e non risorgerà più.
The earth shall reele to and from like a drunken man, and shall be remooued like a tent, and the iniquitie thereof shall be heauie vpon it: so that it shall fall, and rise no more.
21 E in quel giorno avverrà, che il Signore farà, ne' luoghi sovrani, punizione sopra l'esercito de' luoghi sovrani; e sopra la terra, [punizione] dei re della terra.
And in that day shall the Lord visite the hoste aboue that is on hie, euen the Kinges of the world that are vpon the earth.
22 E saranno adunati insieme, come si adunano i prigioni in una fossa; e saranno rinchiusi in un serraglio; e dopo un lungo tempo, saranno visitati.
And they shall be gathered together, as the prisoners in the pit: and they shall be shut vp in the prison, and after many daies shall they be visited.
23 E la luna si vergognerà, e il sole sarà confuso, quando il Signor degli eserciti regnerà nel monte di Sion, e in Gerusalemme; e [vi sarà] gloria davanti agli anziani di essa.
Then the moone shall be abashed, and the sunne ashamed, when the Lord of hostes shall reigne in mount Zion and in Ierusalem: and glory shalbe before his ancient men.
