Mazmur 49
1 Mazmur kaum Korah. Untuk pemimpin kor. Dengarlah, hai segala bangsa, pasanglah telinga, hai penduduk dunia,
To victorie, a salm to the sones of Chore. Alle ye folkis, here these thingis; alle ye that dwellen in the world, perseyue with eeris.
2 baik orang sederhana, maupun orang terkemuka, baik orang miskin, maupun orang kaya.
Alle the sones of erthe and the sones of men; togidere the riche man and the pore in to oon.
3 Aku akan mengucapkan kata-kata bijaksana, buah pikiranku sangat dalam.
Mi mouth schal speke wisdom; and the thenkyng of myn herte schal speke prudence.
4 Aku akan memperhatikan peribahasa, dan menerangkan artinya sambil memetik kecapi.
I schal bouwe doun myn eere in to a parable; Y schal opene my resoun set forth in a sautree.
5 Aku tidak takut di waktu kesesakan, waktu aku dikepung oleh musuh yang jahat.
Whi schal Y drede in the yuel dai? the wickidnesse of myn heele schal cumpasse me.
6 Mereka itu mengandalkan kekayaannya, dan menyombongkan harta bendanya.
Whiche tristen in her owne vertu; and han glorie in the multitude of her richessis.
7 Sesungguhnya tak seorang pun dapat menyelamatkan saudaranya, atau membayar tebusannya kepada Allah.
A brother ayenbieth not, schal a man ayenbie? and he schal not yyue to God his plesyng.
8 Apa pun yang diberikannya tak akan mencukupi; terlalu mahal harga tebusan nyawanya,
And he schal not yyue the prijs of raunsum of his soule; and he schal trauele with outen ende,
9 agar ia terhindar dari mati dan dapat hidup selamanya.
and he schal lyue yit in to the ende.
10 Tidak, ia akan melihat bahwa orang bijaksana pun mati. Orang dungu dan bodoh sama-sama binasa, dan meninggalkan hartanya bagi orang lain.
He schal not se perischyng, whanne he schal se wise men diynge; the vnwise man and fool schulen perische togidere. And thei schulen leeue her richessis to aliens;
11 Mereka akan tinggal di kuburan selama-lamanya; itulah kediaman mereka untuk seterusnya, walaupun dahulu mereka memiliki banyak tanah.

12 Manusia tak dapat hidup terus dalam kemewahan; seperti binatang, ia pun akan binasa.
A man, whanne he was in honour, vndurstood not; he is comparisound to vnwise beestis, and he is maad lijk to tho.
13 Begitulah nasib orang yang mengandalkan dirinya, dan masa depan orang yang puas dengan perkataannya.
This weie of hem is sclaundir to hem; and aftirward thei schulen plese togidere in her mouth.
14 Seperti domba, mereka ditentukan untuk mati; maut akan menjadi gembala mereka. Pagi-pagi mereka dikalahkan oleh orang jujur; tubuh mereka segera membusuk di dunia orang mati, jauh dari kediaman yang mewah. (Sheol h7585)
As scheep thei ben set in helle; deth schal gnawe hem. And iust men schulen be lordis of hem in the morewtid; and the helpe of hem schal wexe eld in helle, for the glorie of hem. (Sheol h7585)
Netheles God schal ayenbie my soule from the power of helle; whanne he schal take me. (Sheol h7585)
16 Jangan takut kalau seorang menjadi kaya, dan hartanya bertambah banyak.
Drede thou not, whanne a man is maad riche; and the glorie of his hows is multiplied.
17 Sebab waktu mati ia tak dapat membawa apa-apa, hartanya tak akan turun ke kubur bersama dia.
For whanne he schal die, he schal not take alle thingis; and his glorie schal not go doun with him.
18 Bahkan apabila seorang beruntung dalam hidupnya, dan disanjung-sanjung karena keberhasilannya,
For his soule schal be blessid in his lijf; he schal knouleche to thee, whanne thou hast do wel to hym.
19 ia akan menyusul nenek moyangnya juga ke tempat yang gelap untuk selama-lamanya.
He schal entre til in to the generaciouns of hise fadris; and til in to with outen ende he schal not se liyt.
20 Manusia tak dapat terus hidup dalam kemewahan, seperti binatang, ia pun akan binasa.
