Psalms 138

1 [A Psalm] of David. I will give thee thanks with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praises unto thee.

Ich bekenne Dich von ganzem Herzen, vor den Göttern singe ich Dir Psalmen.

2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and give thanks unto thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

Ich will anbeten zum Tempel Deiner Heiligkeit, und bekennen Deinen Namen für Deine Barmherzigkeit, und für Deine Wahrheit, daß über all Deinen Namen Du groß erwiesen hast, Deine Rede.

3 In the day that I called thou answeredst me, thou didst encourage me with strength in my soul.

Am Tage, da ich Dich anrief, antwortest Du mir, und erweiterst mir in meiner Seele die Stärke.

4 All the kings of the earth shall give thee thanks, O LORD, for they have heard the words of thy mouth.

Bekennen werden Dich, Jehovah, alle Könige der Erde, wenn sie die Reden Deines Mundes hören.

5 Yea, they shall sing of the ways of the LORD; for great is the glory of the LORD.

Und sie werden singen auf Jehovahs Wegen, daß groß ist Jehovahs Herrlichkeit.

6 For though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the haughty he knoweth from afar.

Denn erhöht ist Jehovah und sieht auf den Niedrigen, aber den Hoffärtigen kennt Er aus der Ferne.

7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me; thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Gehe ich mitten durch Drangsal, so belebst Du mich, reckst Deine Hand aus wider meiner Feinde Zorn, und rettest mich mit Deiner Rechten.

8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, [endureth] for ever; forsake not the works of thine own hands.

Jehovah wird es für mich durchführen, Jehovah, Deine Barmherzigkeit ist in Ewigkeit. Du wollest Deiner Hände Werk nicht lassen.
