Luke 11
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
Un día que Jesús estaba en oración, en cierto lugar, cuando hubo terminado, uno de sus discípulos le dijo: “Señor, enséñanos a orar, como Juan lo enseñó a sus discípulos”.
2 And he said unto them, When all of you pray, say, Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Les dijo: “Cuando oráis, decid: Padre, que sea santificado tu nombre; que llegue tu reino.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
Danos cada día nuestro pan supersubstancial;
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.
y perdónanos nuestros pecados, porque también nosotros perdonamos a todo el que nos debe; y no nos introduzcas en prueba”.
5 And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
Y les dijo: “Quien de vosotros, teniendo un amigo, si va ( este ) a buscarlo a medianoche y le dice: “Amigo, necesito tres panes,
6 For a friend of mine in his journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?
porque un amigo me ha llegado de viaje, y no tengo nada que ofrecerle”,
7 And he from within shall answer and say, Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give you.
y si él mismo le responde de adentro: “No me incomodes, ahora mi puerta está cerrada y mis hijos están como yo en cama, no puedo levantarme para darte”,
8 I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needs.
os digo, que si no se levanta para darle por ser su amigo, al menos a causa de su pertinacia, se levantará para darle todo lo que le hace falta.
9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and all of you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
Yo os digo: “Pedid y se os dará, buscad y encontraréis, golpead y se os abrirá”.
10 For every one that asks receives; and he that seeks finds; and to him that knocks it shall be opened.
Porque todo el que pide obtiene, el que busca halla, al que golpea se le abre.
11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?
¿Qué padre, entre vosotros, si su hijo le pide pan, le dará una piedra? ¿Si pide pescado, en lugar de pescado le dará una serpiente?
12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
¿O si pide un huevo, le dará un escorpión?
13 If all of you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit (pneuma) to them that ask him?
Si pues vosotros, aunque malos, sabéis dar buenas cosas a vuestros hijos, ¡cuánto más el Padre dará desde el cielo el Espíritu Santo a quienes se lo pidan!”
14 And he was casting out a devil, and it was dumb. And it came to pass, when the devil was gone out, the dumb spoke; and the people wondered.
Estaba Jesús echando un demonio, el cual era mudo. Cuando hubo salido el demonio, el mudo habló. Y las muchedumbres estaban maravilladas.
15 But some of them said, He casts out devils through Beelzebub the chief of the devils.
Pero algunos de entre ellos dijeron: “Por Beelzebul, príncipe de los demonios, expulsa los demonios”.
16 And others, tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven.
Otros, para ponerlo a prueba, requerían de Él una señal desde el cielo.
17 But he, knowing their thoughts, said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and a house divided against a house falls.
Mas Él, habiendo conocido sus pensamientos, les dijo: “Todo reino dividido contra sí mismo, es arruinado, y las casas caen una sobre otra.
18 If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand? because all of you say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub.
Si pues, Satanás se divide contra él mismo, ¿cómo se sostendrá su reino? Puesto que decís vosotros que por Beelzebul echo Yo los demonios.
19 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? therefore shall they be your judges.
Ahora bien, si Yo echo los demonios por virtud de Beelzebul, ¿vuestros hijos por virtud de quién los arrojan? Ellos mismos serán, pues, vuestros jueces.
20 But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God has come upon you.
Mas si por el dedo de Dios echo Yo los demonios, es que ya llegó a vosotros el reino de Dios.
21 When a strong man armed keeps his palace, his goods are in peace:
Cuando el hombre fuerte y bien armado guarda su casa, sus bienes están seguros.
22 But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he takes from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divides his spoils.
Pero si sobreviniendo uno más fuerte que él lo vence, le quita todas sus armas en que confiaba y reparte sus despojos.
23 He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathers not with me scatters.
Quien no está conmigo, está contra Mí; y quien no acumula conmigo, desparrama”.
24 When the unclean spirit (pneuma) is gone out of a man, he walks through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
“Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale de un hombre, recorre los lugares áridos, buscando donde posarse, y, no hallándolo, dice: «Me volveré a la casa mía, de donde salí».
25 And when he comes, he finds it swept and garnished.
A su llegada, la encuentra barrida y adornada.
26 Then goes he, and takes to him seven other spirits (pneuma) more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
Entonces se va a tomar consigo otros siete espíritus aún más malos que él mismo; entrados, se arraigan allí, y el fin de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el principio”.
27 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare you, and the breast which you have sucked.
Cuando Él hablaba así, una mujer levantando la voz de entre la multitud, dijo: “¡Feliz el seno que te llevó y los pechos que Tú mamaste!”
28 But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word (logos) of God, and keep it.
Y Él contestó: “¡Felices más bien los que escuchan la palabra de Dios y la conservan!”
29 And when the people were gathered thick together, he began to say, This is an evil generation: they seek a sign; and there shall no sign be given it, but the sign of Jonas the prophet.
Como la muchedumbre se agolpaba, se puso a decir: “Perversa generación es esta; busca una señal, mas no le será dada señal, sino la de Jonás.
30 For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.
Porque lo mismo que Jonás fue una señal para los ninivitas, así el Hijo del hombre será una señal para la generación esta.
31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.
La reina del Mediodía será despertada en el juicio frente a los hombres de la generación esta y los condenará, porque vino de las extremidades de la tierra para escuchar la sabiduría de Salomón; y hay aquí más que Salomón.
32 The men of Nineveh shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Los varones ninivitas actuarán en el juicio frente a la generación esta y la condenarán, porque ellos se arrepintieron a la predicación de Jonás; y hay aquí más que Jonás”.
33 No man, when he has lighted a candle, puts it in a secret place, neither under a bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.
“Nadie enciende una candela y la pone escondida en un sótano, ni bajo el celemín, sino sobre el candelero, para alumbrar a los que entran.
34 The light of the body is the eye: therefore when your eye is single, your whole body also is full of light; but when your eye is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
La lámpara de tu cuerpo es tu ojo. Cuando tu ojo está claro, todo tu cuerpo goza de la luz, pero si él está turbio, tu cuerpo está en tinieblas.
35 Take heed therefore that the light which is in you be not darkness.
Vigila pues, no suceda que la luz que en ti hay, sea tiniebla.
36 If your whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle does give you light.
Si pues todo tu cuerpo está lleno de luz ( interiormente ), no teniendo parte alguna tenebrosa, será todo él luminoso (exteriormente ), como cuando la lámpara te ilumina con su resplandor”.
37 And as he spoke, a certain Pharisee besought him to dine with him: and he went in, and sat down to food.
Mientras Él hablaba lo invitó un fariseo a comer con él; entró y se puso a la mesa.
38 And when the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed before dinner.
El fariseo se extrañó al ver que no se había lavado antes de comer.
39 And the Lord said unto him, Now do all of you Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter; but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness.
Díjole, pues el Señor: “Vosotros, fariseos, estáis purificando lo exterior de la copa y del plato, en tanto que por dentro estáis llenos de rapiña y de iniquidad.
40 All of you fools, did not he that made that which is without make that which is within also?
¡Insensatos! el que hizo lo exterior ¿no hizo también lo interior?
41 But rather give alms of such things as all of you have; and, behold, all things are clean unto you.
Por eso, dad de limosna el contenido, y todo para vosotros quedará puro.
42 But woe unto you, Pharisees! for all of you tithe mint and rue and all manner of herbs, and pass over judgment and the love (agape) of God: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Pero, ¡ay de vosotros, fariseos! ¡porque dais el diezmo de la menta, de la ruda y de toda legumbre, y dejáis de lado la justicia y el amor de Dios! Era menester practicar esto, sin omitir aquello.
43 Woe unto you, Pharisees! for all of you love the uppermost seats in the synagogues, and greetings in the markets.
¡Ay de vosotros, fariseos! porque amáis el primer sitial en las sinagogas y ser saludados en las plazas públicas.
44 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are as graves which appear not, and the men that walk over them are not aware of them.
¡Ay de vosotros! porque sois como esos sepulcros, que no lo parecen y que van pisando las gentes, sin saberlo”.
45 Then answered one of the lawyers, and said unto him, Master, thus saying you reproach us also.
Entonces un doctor de la Ley le dijo: “Maestro, hablando así, nos ultrajas también a nosotros.”
46 And he said, Woe unto you also, all of you lawyers! for all of you load men with burdens grievous to be borne, and all of you yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers.
Mas Él respondió: “¡Ay de vosotros también, doctores de la Ley! porque agobiáis a los demás con cargas abrumadoras, al paso que vosotros mismos ni con un dedo tocáis esas cargas.
47 Woe unto you! for all of you build the sepulchers of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
¡Ay de vosotros! porque reedificáis sepulcros para los profetas, pero fueron vuestros padres quienes los asesinaron.
48 Truly all of you bear witness that all of you allow the deeds of your fathers: for they indeed killed them, and all of you build their sepulchers.
Así vosotros sois testigos de cargo y consentidores de las obras de vuestros padres, porque ellos los mataron y vosotros reedificáis ( sus sepulcros ).
49 Therefore also said the wisdom of God, I will send them prophets and apostles, and some of them they shall slay and persecute:
Por eso también la Sabiduría de Dios ha dicho: Yo les enviaré profetas y apóstoles; y de ellos matarán y perseguirán;
50 That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
para que se pida cuenta a esta generación de la sangre de todos los profetas que ha sido derramada desde la fundación del mundo,
51 From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias which perished between the altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
desde la sangre de Abel hasta la sangre de Zacarías, que fue matado entre el altar y el santuario. Sí, os digo se pedirá cuenta a esta generación.
52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for all of you have taken away the key of knowledge: all of you entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in all of you hindered.
¡Ay de vosotros! hombres de la Ley, porque vosotros os habéis apoderado de la llave del conocimiento; vosotros mismos no entrasteis, y a los que iban a entrar, vosotros se lo habéis impedido”.
53 And as he said these things unto them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
Cuando hubo salido, los escribas y los fariseos se pusieron a acosarlo vivamente y a quererle sacar respuestas sobre una multitud de cosas,
54 Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth, that they might accuse him.
tendiéndole lazos para sorprender alguna palabra de su boca.
