2 Corinthians 5
1 For we knowe that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be destroyed, we haue a building giuen of God, that is, an house not made with handes, but eternall in the heauens. (aiōnios g166)
Tunajua kwamba kama maskani ya ulimwenguni ambayo tunaishi humo yanaharibiwa, tunalo jengo kutoka kwa Mungu. Ni nyumba isiyotengenezwa kwa mikono ya wanadamu, bali ni nyumba ya milele, katika mbingu. (aiōnios g166)
2 For therefore we sighe, desiring to be clothed with our house, which is from heauen.
Kwa kuwa katika hema hii tunaugua, tukitamani kuvikwa kwa maskani yetu mbinguni.
3 Because that if we be clothed, we shall not be found naked.
Tunatamani kwa ajili ya hii kwa sababu kwa kuivaa hatutaonekana kuwa tu uchi.
4 For in deede we that are in this tabernacle, sigh and are burdened, because we would not be vnclothed, but would be clothed vpon, that mortalitie might be swalowed vp of life.
Kwa hakika wakati tuko ndani ya hema hii, twaugua tukilemewa. Hatutaki kuvuliwa. Badala yake, tunataka kuvalishwa, ili kwamba kile kilicho kufa kiweze kumezwa na uzima.
5 And he that hath created vs for this thing, is God, who also hath giuen vnto vs the earnest of the Spirit.
Yule aliyetuandaa sisi kwa kitu hiki ni Mungu, ambaye alitupa sisi Roho kama ahadi ya kile kitakacho kuja.
6 Therefore we are alway bolde, though we knowe that whiles we are at home in the bodie, we are absent from the Lord.
Kwa hiyo muwe na ujasiri siku zote. Muwe macho kwamba wakati tuko nyumbani katika mwili, tuko mbali na Bwana.
7 (For we walke by faith, and not by sight.)
Kwa kuwa tunatembea kwa imani, sio kwa kuona. Kwa hiyo tunaujasiri.
8 Neuerthelesse, we are bolde, and loue rather to remoue out of the body, and to dwell with the Lord.
Ni bora tuwe mbali kutoka kwenye mwili na nyumbani pamoja na Bwana.
9 Wherefore also we couet, that both dwelling at home, and remouing from home, we may be acceptable to him.
Kwa hiyo tunaifanya kuwa lengo letu, kama tukiwa nyumbani au mbali, tumpendeze yeye.
10 For we must all appeare before the iudgement seate of Christ, that euery man may receiue the things which are done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or euill.
Kwa kuwa lazima wote tuonekane mbele ya kiti cha hukumu cha Kristo, ili kwamba kila mmoja aweze kupokea kile kinachostahili kwa mambo yaliyofanyika katika mwili, ikiwa ni kwa uzuri au kwa ubaya.
11 Knowing therefore that terrour of the Lord, we persuade men, and we are made manifest vnto God, and I trust also that we are made manifest in your consciences.
Kwa hiyo, kwa kuijua hofu ya Bwana, tunawashawishi watu. Jinsi tulivyo, inaonekana wazi na Mungu. Ninatumaini kuwa inaeleweka pia kwenye dhamiri zenu.
12 For we prayse not our selues againe vnto you, but giue you an occasion to reioyce of vs, that ye may haue to answere against them, which reioyce in the face, and not in the heart.
Hatujaribu kuwashawishi ninyi tena kutuona sisi kama wakweli. Badala yake, tunawapa ninyi sababu ya kujivuna kwa ajili yetu, ili kwamba muweze kuwa na jibu kwa wale wanaojivunia kuhusu mwonekano lakini sio kile kilicho ndani ya moyo.
13 For whether we be out of our wit, we are it to God: or whether we be in our right minde, we are it vnto you.
Kwa kuwa ikiwa kama tumerukwa na akili, ni kwa ajili ya Mungu. Na kama tuko kwenye akili zetu timamu, ni kwa ajili yenu.
14 For that loue of Christ constraineth vs,
Kwa kuwa upendo wa Kristo watushurutisha, kwa sababu tuna uhakika na hili: kuwa mtu mmoja alikufa kwa ajili ya wote, na kwa hiyo wote wamekufa.
15 Because we thus iudge, that if one be dead for all, then were all dead, and he died for all, that they which liue, shoulde not henceforth liue vnto themselues, but vnto him which died for them, and rose againe.
Na Kristo alikufa kwa ajili ya wote, ili kwamba wale wanaoishi wasiishi tena kwa ajili yao wenyewe. Badala yake, lazima waishi kwa ajili yake yeye ambaye alikufa na alifufuliwa.
16 Wherefore, henceforth know we no man after the flesh, yea though wee had knowen Christ after the flesh, yet nowe henceforth know we him no more.
Kwa sababu hii, kuanzia sasa na kuendelea hatumuhukumu mtu kulingana na viwango vya wanadamu, ingawa hapo kwanza tulimtazama Kristo katika namna hii. Lakini sasa hatumuhukumu yeyote kwa namna hii tena.
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, let him be a newe creature. Olde things are passed away: beholde, all things are become newe.
Kwa hiyo, ikiwa mtu yeyote yuko ndani ya Kristo, yeye ni kiumbe kipya. Mambo ya kale yamepita. Tazama, yamekuwa mapya.
18 And all things are of God, which hath reconciled vs vnto himselfe by Iesus Christ, and hath giuen vnto vs the ministerie of reconciliation.
Vitu vyote hivi vyatoka kwa Mungu. Alitupatanisha sisi kwake mwenyewe kupitia Kristo, na ametupatia huduma ya upatanisho.
19 For God was in Christ, and reconciled the world to himselfe, not imputing their sinnes vnto them, and hath committed to vs the word of reconciliation.
Hiyo ni kusema, katika Kristo, Mungu anaupatanisha ulimwengu kwake mwenyewe, sio kuhesabu makosa yao dhidi yao. Anawekeza kwetu ujumbe wa upatanisho.
20 Now then are we ambassadours for Christ: as though God did beseeche you through vs, we pray you in Christes steade, that ye be reconciled to God.
Kwa hiyo tunateuliwa kama wawakilishi wa Kristo, kana kwamba Mungu alikuwa anafanya rufaa yake kupitia sisi. Tunawasihi ninyi kwa ajili ya Kristo: “Mpatanishwe kwa Mungu!”
21 For he hath made him to be sinne for vs, which knewe no sinne, that we should be made the righteousnesse of God in him.
Alimfanya Kristo kuwa sadaka kwa ajili ya dhambi zetu. Yeye ndiye ambaye hakutenda dhambi. Alifanya hivi ili tuweze kufanyika haki ya Mungu katika yeye.
