< Matthew 1 >

1 This book is the record of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham, beginning with the family line:
PUK en di kan, me Iesus Kristus, me sapwilim en Dawid, me sapwilim en Apraam, tapi sang ia.
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac; and Isaac the father of Jacob; and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers;

11 and Josiah the father of Jehoiachin and his brothers, at the time of the exile to Babylon.
A losia me wiadar Iekonia o ri a ol akan ni ansaun arail salilang Papilon.
12 After the exile to Babylon, Jehoiachin was the father of Shealtiel; and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel;

A Iakop me wiadar Iosep, me likondeki Maria, me kaipwiedi Iesus, me maraneki Kristus.
17 So all the generations from Abraham to David add up to fourteen; from David to the Babylonian exile, fourteen; and from the Babylonian exile to the Messiah, fourteen.
Di karos sang ren Apraam lei Dawid me eisokpaieu; a sang Dawid lei arail salidi nan Papilon di eisokpaieu; a sang arail salidi nan Papilon lei Kristus di eisokpaieu.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah happened. His mother, Mary, was engaged to Joseph, but before they slept together she became pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
Nan iet duen Kristus a kotin ipwidier: Ni ansau me in a Maria kisin nin ong Iosep, a diarokadar, me a liseanekier Ngen saraui mon ara tu pena.
19 Joseph, her fiancé, was a good man and didn't want to shame her publicly, so he decided to break the engagement discreetly.
A a warok Iosep ol pung amen, ap sota men kanamenokala i, ap kupukupura, en rir muei sang i.
20 While he was thinking about all of this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him, “Joseph, son of David, don't be afraid to marry Mary because she is pregnant by the Holy Spirit.
A ni a kotin madamadaue duen mepukat, kilang, tounlang en Kaun o pwara dong i ni a aliman masani: Iosep nain Dawid koe, der masak, en ale om warok Maria, pwe Ngen saraui me a lisean kidar.
21 She will give birth to a son and you shall call him Jesus, for he will save people from their sins.”
A pan kaipwiedi seri ol amen, me koe pan ki ong mar a Iesus, pwe a pan dorela sapwilim a aramas akan sang nin dip arail.
22 (Now this all happened to fulfill what the Lord said through the prophet:
Mepukat karos wiauier, pwen pwaida me lokido sang Kaun ren saukop o, me masani:
23 “A virgin will become pregnant, and will give birth to a son. They will call him Immanuel,” which means “God with us.”)
Kilang seripein makelekel o pan liseanda, ap kaipwiedi seri ol amen, irail ari pan ki ong mar a Imanuel; iet wewe: Kot me kotin ieiang kitail.
24 Joseph woke up and did what the angel of the Lord told him to do.
Iosep lao pirida sang a saimok, ap kapwaiadar, me tounlang en Kaun o kotin kakalik ong i o apapwali a likond.
25 Joseph married Mary, but did not sleep with her until after she had given birth to a son, whom he named Jesus.
A ap sota pweidi re a, lao a kaipwiedier sapwilim a meseni ol, ap kotiki ong mar a Iesus.
