1 Corinthians 12

1 Now about “spiritual gifts.” My brothers and sisters, I want to explain this to you.

Ug mahitungod sa mga hiyas nga espirituhanon, mga igsoon, buot ko nga inyo kining masabtan.

2 You know that when you were pagans, you were deceived, being led astray by worshiping idols who couldn't even speak.

Kamo nasayud nga sa mga diwatahan pa kamo, gipanagdaldal kamo ngadto sa mga diosdios nga amang, maingon nga sa bisan unsang higayona kamo kaniadto madaldal ra man.

3 Let me make it clear to you: no one who speaks in the Spirit of God says, “Curse Jesus!” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord!” except by the Holy Spirit.

Busa buot ko nga inyong masabtan nga walay tawo nga sa magasulti siya pinaagi sa gahum sa Espiritu sa Dios arang makaingon, "Si Jesus matinunglo pa unta!" ug walay makaingon, "Si Jesus Ginoo," nga dili pinaagi sa gahum sa Espiritu Santo.

4 Now there are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they come from the same Spirit.

Adunay nagakalainlaing mga hiyas, apan adunay mao rang usa ka Espiritu;

5 There are different kinds of ministries, but they come from the same Lord.

ug adunay nagakalainlaing pag-alagad, apan mao rang usa ka Ginoo;

6 There are different ways of working, but they come from the same God, who is at work in all of them.

Ug adunay nagakalainlaing kalihokan, apan mao rang usa ka Dios nga nagadasig niining tanan diha sa matag-usa.

7 The Spirit is given to each of us and is revealed for the good of all.

Apan ngadto sa matag-usa gikahatag ang alamag sa Espiritu alang sa kaayohan sa tanan.

8 One person is given by the Spirit the ability to speak words of wisdom. Another is given a message of knowledge by the same Spirit.

Ngadto sa usa gihatag ang pulong sa kaalam pinaagi sa Espiritu, ug ngadto sa usa gihatag ang pulong sa kahibalo sumala sa mao na nga Espiritu;

9 Another receives the gift of strongly trusting in God by the same Spirit. Another receives gifts of healing from that one Spirit.

ngadto sa usa gihatag ang pagtoo pinaagi sa mao ra nga Espiritu, ug ngadto sa usa gihatag ang mga hiyas sa pagpang-ayog mga sakit pinaagi sa mao rang usa ka Espiritu;

10 Another is given the ability to perform miracles. Another receives the gift of prophecy. Another is given the gift of spiritual discernment. Another receives the ability to speak different languages while another is given the gift of interpreting languages.

ngadto sa usa gihatag ang gahum sa paghimog mga milagro, ug ngadto sa usa ang paghimog profesiya, ug ngadto sa usa ang katakus sa pag-ila sa mga nagkalainlaing espiritu, ug ngadto sa usa ang nagkalainlaing pagpanultig mga dila, ug ngadto sa usa ang paghubad sa panultig mga dila.

11 But all of these gifts are the work of the one and the same Spirit, sharing with each person as he alone chooses.

Kining tanan ginadasig pinaagi sa usa ug mao rang Espiritu nga nagaapod-apod niini ngadto sa matag-usa sumala sa iyang kabobut-on.

12 Just like the human body is one unit but has many parts—all the parts of the body even though there are many of them, make up one body—so is Christ.

Kay maingon nga ang lawas usa ra ug nagabaton ug daghang mga bahin, ug nga kining tanang mga bahina sa lawas, bisan daghan sila, usa ra ka lawas, maingon man usab niana si Cristo.

13 For it was through one Spirit that we were all baptized into one body. It doesn't matter whether we are Jews or Greeks, slave or free—we all were given the one Spirit to drink.

Kay pinaagi sa usa ka Espiritu kitang tanan mga Judio o mga Gresyanhon, mga ulipon o mga tawong gawas nabautismo ngadto sa usa ka lawas; ug kitang tanan gipatuhop ug usa ka Espiritu.

14 The body is not made of one part, but many parts.

Kay ang lawas dili usa ka bahin lamang, kondili daghan.

15 If the foot were to say, “Because I'm not a hand, I'm not part of the body,” would that make it not part of the body?

Kon ang tiil magaingon, "Kay dili man ako kamot, dili ako bahin sa lawas," kana wala makapahimo niini nga dili bahin sa lawas.

16 If the ear were to say, “Because I'm not an eye, I'm not part of the body,” would that make it not part of the body?

Ug kon ang dalunggan magaingon, "Kay dili man ako mata, dili ako bahin sa lawas," kana wala makapahimo niini nga dili bahin sa lawas.

17 If the whole body was an eye, how could you hear anything? If the whole body was an ear, how could you smell anything?

Kon ang tibuok lawas lonlon pa nga mata, asa na man ang pagdungog? Kon ang tibuok lawas lonlon pa nga dalunggan, asa na man ang pagpanimaho?

18 But God has arranged each part in the body, every last one of them, placing them just as he wanted.

Apan ingon nga mao karon, ang mga bahin gipahimutang sa Dios diha sa lawas, ang matag-usa kanila sumala sa iyang gikahimut-an.

19 If they were all the same part, what would happen to the body?

Kon ang tanan usa ra ka bahin lamang, asa na man ang lawas?

20 However, since there are many parts, they make up the body.

Ingon nga mao karon, anaa ang daghang mga bahin, ngani usa lamang ka lawas.

21 The eye can't tell the hand, “I don't need you,” or the head tell the feet, “I don't need you.”

Ang mata dili makaingon sa kamot, "Wala ako magkinahanglan kanimo," maingon nga ang ulo dili usab makaingon sa tiil, "Wala ako magkinahanglan kanimo."

22 Quite the opposite: some of those parts of the body that seem the most insignificant are the most essential.

Hinonoa, ang mga bahin sa lawas nga ginaisip nato nga mahuyang mao ang labing kinahanglanon;

23 In fact those parts of the body we do not consider to be decent to reveal we “honor” more by covering them up—what is indecent we treat with greater modesty!

24 What's presentable doesn't need such covering up. God has so arranged the body that more honor is given to the parts that are less presentable.

nga wala kinahanglana sa atong mga matahum nga bahin. Apan ang lawas gipahiangay sa Dios nga tungod niana ang mga bahin nga timawa gikahatagan ug labing dakung pasidungog,

25 This is so there wouldn't be any conflict within the body—the different parts should care equally for each other.

aron walay panagkasumpaki sa sulod sa lawas, hinonoa aron ang mga bahin niini masigbaton sa samang pagtagad alang sa usa ug usa.

26 So when one part is suffering, all the other parts of the body suffer with it, and when one part is treated well, then all the other parts of the body are happy too!

Kon ang usa ka bahin magaantus, nan, ang tanan magadungan sa pag-antus; kon ang usa ka bahin pasidunggan, nan, ang tanan magadungan sa pagkalipay.

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one makes up a part of it.

Kamo mao ang lawas ni Cristo ug ang matag-usa kaninyo bahin niini.

28 In the church, God has arranged first for some to be apostles, secondly for some to be prophets, thirdly teachers. Then there are those who perform miracles, those with healing gifts, those who can help others, those good at administration, and those who can speak different languages.

Ug sa iglesia gipahimutang sa Dios, una sa tanan ang mga apostoles, ikaduha ang mga profeta, ikatulo ang mga magtutudlo, unya ang mga magbubuhat ug mga milagro, unya ang mga pagpang-ayo ug mga sakit, ug ang pagtabang, ug ang pagdumala, ug ang pagpanultig nagkalainlaing matang sa mga dila.

29 Not everyone is an apostle, or a prophet, or a teacher, or able to perform miracles.

Apostoles ba ang tanan? Profeta ba ang tanan? Magtutudlo ba ang tanan? Nagahimo bag mga milagro ang tanan?

30 Not all have healing gifts, or the ability to speak languages, or to interpret languages.

Ang tanan nakabaton ba sa hiyas sa pagpang-ayo sa mga sakit? Tigpamulong bag mga dila ang tanan? Nagahubad ba sa kahulogan ang tanan?

31 But you should really want to have the most significant gifts. So now I will show you a far better way.

Apan tinguhaa hinoon ninyo pag-ayo ang labi pa ka dagkung mga hiyas.
