2 تیموتاوس 3

۱ 1 اما این را بدان که در ایام آخر زمانهای سخت پدید خواهد آمد،

Be sure of this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

۲ 2 زیرا که مردمان، خودپرست خواهند بود و طماع ولاف‌زن و متکبر و بدگو و نامطیع والدین و ناسپاس و ناپاک

People will be selfish, mercenary, boastful, haughty, and blasphemous; disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, impure,

۳ 3 و بی‌الفت و کینه دل و غیبت‌گو و ناپرهیزو بی‌مروت و متنفر از نیکویی

incapable of affection, merciless, slanderous, wanting in self-control, brutal, careless of the right,

۴ 4 و خیانت کار وتندمزاج و مغرور که عشرت را بیشتر از خدادوست می‌دارند؛

treacherous, reckless, and puffed up with pride; they will love pleasure more than they love God;

۵ 5 که صورت دینداری دارند، لیکن قوت آن را انکار می‌کنند. از ایشان اعراض نما.

and while they retain the outward form of religion, they will not allow it to influence them. Turn your back on such people as these.

۶ 6 زیرا که از اینها هستند آنانی که به حیله داخل خانه‌ها گشته، زنان کم عقل را اسیر می‌کنندکه بار گناهان را می‌کشند و به انواع شهوات ربوده می‌شوند.

For among them are to be found those who creep into homes and captivate weak women – women who, loaded with sins, and slaves to all kinds of passions,

۷ 7 و دائم تعلیم می‌گیرند، لکن هرگز به معرفت راستی نمی توانند رسید.

are always learning, and yet never able to attain to a real knowledge of the truth.

۸ 8 و همچنان‌که ینیس و یمبریس با موسی مقاومت کردند، ایشان نیز با راستی مقاومت می‌کنند که مردم فاسدالعقل و مردود از ایمانند.

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these people, in their turn, oppose the truth. Their minds are corrupted, and, as regards the faith, they are utterly worthless.

۹ 9 لیکن بیشتر ترقی نخواهندکرد زیرا که حماقت ایشان بر جمیع مردم واضح خواهد شد، چنانکه حماقت آنها نیز شد.

They will not, however, make further progress; for their wicked folly will be plain to everyone, just as the folly Jannes and Jambres was.

۱۰ 10 لیکن تو تعلیم و سیرت و قصد و ایمان وحلم و محبت و صبر مرا پیروی نمودی،

But you, Timothy, were a close observer of my teaching, my conduct, my purposes, my faith, my forbearance, my love, and my patient endurance,

۱۱ 11 وزحمات و آلام مرا مثل آنهایی که در انطاکیه وایقونیه و لستره بر من واقع شد، چگونه زحمات راتحمل می‌نمودم و خداوند مرا از همه رهایی داد.

as well as of my persecutions, and of the sufferings which I met with at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. You know what persecutions I underwent; and yet the Lord brought me safe out of all!

۱۲ 12 و همه کسانی که می‌خواهند در مسیح عیسی به دینداری زیست کنند، زحمت خواهند کشید.

Yes, and all who aim at living a religious life in union with Christ Jesus will have to suffer persecution;

۱۳ 13 لیکن مردمان شریر و دغاباز در بدی ترقی خواهند کرد که فریبنده و فریب خورده می‌باشند.

but wicked people and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving others and deceived themselves.

۱۴ 14 اما تو در آنچه آموختی و ایمان آوردی قایم باش چونکه می‌دانی از چه کسان تعلیم یافتی،

You, however, must stand by what you learnt and accepted as true. You know who they were from whom you learnt it;

۱۵ 15 و اینکه از طفولیت کتب مقدسه را دانسته‌ای که می‌تواند تو را حکمت آموزدبرای نجات بوسیله ایمانی که بر مسیح عیسی است.

and that, from your childhood, you have known the sacred writings, which can give you the wisdom that, through belief in Christ Jesus, leads to salvation.

۱۶ 16 تمامی کتب از الهام خداست و بجهت تعلیم و تنبیه و اصلاح و تربیت در عدالت مفیداست،

All scripture is God-breathed: helpful for teaching, for refuting error, for giving guidance, and for training others in righteousness;

۱۷ 17 تا مرد خدا کامل و بجهت هر عمل نیکوآراسته بشود.

so that God’s people may be capable and equipped for good work of every kind.
