ルカの福音書 9
1 イエスは、十二人を呼び集めて、彼らに、すべての悪霊を追い出し、病気を直すための、力と権威とをお授けになった。
And having summoned the twelve, he gave them power and authority over all demons, and to heal diseases.
2 それから、神の国を宣べ伝え、病気を直すために、彼らを遣わされた。
And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal those who were incapacitated.
3 イエスは、こう言われた。「旅のために何も持って行かないようにしなさい。杖も、袋も、パンも、金も。また下着も、二枚は、いりません。
And he said to them, Take nothing for the way, neither staffs, nor bag, nor bread, nor silver, nor have two coats each.
4 どんな家にはいっても、そこにとどまり、そこから次の旅に出かけなさい。
And into whatever house ye may enter, remain there, and from there depart.
5 人々があなたがたを受け入れないばあいは、その町を出て行くときに、彼らに対する証言として、足のちりを払い落としなさい。」
And as many as will not receive you, when departing from that city, also shake off the dust from your feet for a testimony against them.
6 十二人は出かけて行って、村から村へと回りながら、至る所で福音を宣べ伝え、病気を直した。
And having departed, they passed through the villages, preaching the good news, and healing everywhere.
7 さて、国主ヘロデは、このすべての出来事を聞いて、ひどく当惑していた。それは、ある人々が、「ヨハネが死人の中からよみがえったのだ。」と言い、
But Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done by him. And he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John was risen from the dead,
8 ほかの人々は、「エリヤが現われたのだ。」と言い、さらに別の人々は、「昔の預言者のひとりがよみがえったのだ。」と言っていたからである。
and by some that Elijah appeared, and by others that a prophet, one of the ancient men arose.
9 ヘロデは言った。「ヨハネなら、私が首をはねたのだ。そうしたことがうわさされているこの人は、いったいだれなのだろう。」ヘロデはイエスに会ってみようとした。
And Herod said, I beheaded John, but who is this about whom I hear such things? And he sought to see him.
10 さて、使徒たちは帰って来て、自分たちのして来たことを報告した。それからイエスは彼らを連れてベツサイダという町へひそかに退かれた。
And when the apostles returned, they related to him as many things as they did. And having taken them along, he withdrew in private into a desolate place of a city called Bethsaida.
11 ところが、多くの群衆がこれを知って、ついて来た。それで、イエスは喜んで彼らを迎え、神の国のことを話し、また、いやしの必要な人たちをおいやしになった。
But the multitudes having known, they followed him. And having received them, he spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and he cured those who had need of healing.
12 そのうち、日も暮れ始めたので、十二人はみもとに来て、「この群衆を解散させてください。そして回りの村や部落にやって、宿をとらせ、何か食べることができるようにさせてください。私たちは、こんな人里離れた所にいるのですから。」と言った。
And the day began to decline, and the twelve having come near, they said to him, Send the multitude away, so that, after going into the villages and fields around, they may rest and find provision, because we are here in a desolate place.
13 しかしイエスは、彼らに言われた。「あなたがたで、何か食べる物を上げなさい。」彼らは言った。「私たちには五つのパンと二匹の魚のほか何もありません。私たちが出かけて行って、この民全体のために食物を買うのでしょうか。」
But he said to them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, There are for us not more than five loaves and two fishes, unless, after going, we might buy food for all this people.
14 それは、男だけでおよそ五千人もいたからである。しかしイエスは、弟子たちに言われた。「人々を、五十人ぐらいずつ組にしてすわらせなさい。」
For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down in groups of fifty each.
15 弟子たちは、そのようにして、全部をすわらせた。
And they did so, and made them all sit down.
16 するとイエスは、五つのパンと二匹の魚を取り、天を見上げて、それらを祝福して裂き、群衆に配るように弟子たちに与えられた。
And after taking the five loaves and the two fishes, having looked up to heaven, he blessed them, and broke in pieces, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
17 人々はみな、食べて満腹した。そして、余ったパン切れを取り集めると、十二かごあった。
And they ate, and were all filled. And there were taken up to them of the remaining fragments, twelve baskets.
18 さて、イエスがひとりで祈っておられたとき、弟子たちがいっしょにいた。イエスは彼らに尋ねて言われた。「群衆はわたしのことをだれだと言っていますか。」
And it came to pass, as he was praying privately, the disciples were with him. And he questioned them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am?
19 彼らは、答えて言った。「バプテスマのヨハネだと言っています。ある者はエリヤだと言い、またほかの人々は、昔の預言者のひとりが生き返ったのだとも言っています。」
And having answered, they said, John the immerser, but others, Elijah, and others, that a certain prophet of the ancient men arose.
20 イエスは、彼らに言われた。「では、あなたがたは、わたしをだれだと言いますか。」ペテロが答えて言った。「神のキリストです。」
And he said to them, But ye, who say ye that I am? And having answered, Peter said, The Christ of God.
21 するとイエスは、このことをだれにも話さないようにと、彼らを戒めて命じられた。
But having chided them, he commanded to tell this to no man,
22 そして言われた。「人の子は、必ず多くの苦しみを受け、長老、祭司長、律法学者たちに捨てられ、殺され、そして三日目によみがえらねばならないのです。」
saying, It is necessary for the Son of man to suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scholars, and be killed, and the third day to rise.
23 イエスは、みなの者に言われた。「だれでもわたしについて来たいと思うなら、自分を捨て、日々自分の十字架を負い、そしてわたしについて来なさい。
And he said to all, If any man wants to come behind me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
24 自分のいのちを救おうと思う者は、それを失い、わたしのために自分のいのちを失う者は、それを救うのです。
For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever may lose his life because of me, this man will save it.
25 人は、たとい全世界を手に入れても、自分自身を失い、損じたら、何の得がありましょう。
For what is a man benefited, having gained the whole world, but having lost or having forfeited himself?
26 もしだれでも、わたしとわたしのことばとを恥と思うなら、人の子も、自分と父と聖なる御使いとの栄光を帯びて来るときには、そのような人のことを恥とします。
For whoever may be ashamed of me and of my words, the Son of man will be ashamed of this man when he comes in his glory, and of the Father, and of the holy agents.
27 しかし、わたしは真実をあなたがたに告げます。ここに立っている人々の中には、神の国を見るまでは、決して死を味わわない者たちがいます。」
But I tell you truly, there are some of those who stand here, who will, no, not taste of death, till they see the kingdom of God.
28 これらの教えがあってから八日ほどして、イエスは、ペテロとヨハネとヤコブとを連れて、祈るために、山に登られた。
And it came to pass about eight days after these sayings, that after taking Peter and John and James, he went up onto the mountain to pray.
29 祈っておられると、御顔の様子が変わり、御衣は白く光り輝いた。
And as he was praying, the appearance of his face became different, and his clothing glistening white.
30 しかも、ふたりの人がイエスと話し合っているではないか。それはモーセとエリヤであって、
And behold, two men talked with him, who were Moses and Elijah,
31 栄光のうちに現われて、イエスがエルサレムで遂げようとしておられるご最期についていっしょに話していたのである。
who, having appeared in glory, spoke of his departure, which he was going to fulfill at Jerusalem.
32 ペテロと仲間たちは、眠くてたまらなかったが、はっきり目がさめると、イエスの栄光と、イエスといっしょに立っているふたりの人を見た。
But Peter and those with him were weighed down with sleep, and having become awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.
33 それから、ふたりがイエスと別れようとしたとき、ペテロがイエスに言った。「先生。ここにいることは、すばらしいことです。私たちが三つの幕屋を造ります。あなたのために一つ、モーセのために一つ、エリヤのために一つ。」ペテロは何を言うべきかを知らなかったのである。
And it came to pass, as they were departing from him, Peter said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here, and we could make three tabernacles, one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah, not knowing what he was saying.
34 彼がこう言っているうちに、雲がわき起こってその人々をおおった。彼らが雲に包まれると、弟子たちは恐ろしくなった。
And while he was speaking these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them. And they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.
35 すると雲の中から、「これは、わたしの愛する子、わたしの選んだ者である。彼の言うことを聞きなさい。」と言う声がした。
And a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son. Hear ye him.
36 この声がしたとき、そこに見えたのはイエスだけであった。彼らは沈黙を守り、その当時は、自分たちの見たこのことをいっさい、だれにも話さなかった。
And at the occurrence of the voice, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and informed no man in those days any of the things that they have seen.
37 次の日、一行が山から降りて来ると、大ぜいの人の群れがイエスを迎えた。
And it came to pass, on the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met him.
38 すると、群衆の中から、ひとりの人が叫んで言った。「先生。お願いです。息子を見てやってください。ひとり息子です。
And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, Teacher, I beseech thee to look upon my son, because he is the only begotten to me.
39 ご覧ください。霊がこの子に取りつきますと、突然叫び出すのです。そしてひきつけさせてあわを吹かせ、かき裂いて、なかなか離れようとしません。
And lo, a spirit seizes him, and he suddenly cries out, and it convulses him with foaming. And it departs from him difficultly, injuring him.
40 お弟子たちに、この霊を追い出してくださるようお願いしたのですが、お弟子たちにはできませんでした。」
And I begged thy disciples that they might cast it out, and they could not.
41 イエスは答えて言われた。「ああ、不信仰な、曲がった今の世だ。いつまで、あなたがたといっしょにいて、あなたがたにがまんしていなければならないのでしょう。あなたの子をここに連れて来なさい。」
And having answered, Jesus said, O faithless and perverted generation, how long will I be with you and endure you? Bring thy son here.
42 その子が近づいて来る間にも、悪霊は彼を打ち倒して、激しくひきつけさせてしまった。それで、イエスは汚れた霊をしかって、その子をいやし、父親に渡された。
And as he was still coming, the demon tore him, and he convulsed. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
43 人々はみな、神のご威光に驚嘆した。 イエスのなさったすべてのことに、人々がみな驚いていると、イエスは弟子たちにこう言われた。
And they were all amazed at the majesty of God. But while all were wondering at all the things which Jesus did, he said to his disciples,
44 「このことばを、しっかりと耳に入れておきなさい。人の子は、いまに人々の手に渡されます。」
Place ye these sayings into your ears, for the Son of man is going to be delivered up into the hands of men.
45 しかし、弟子たちは、このみことばが理解できなかった。このみことばの意味は、わからないように、彼らから隠されていたのである。また彼らは、このみことばについてイエスに尋ねるのを恐れた。
But they did not understand this saying, and it was concealed from them, so that they did not perceive it. And they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
46 さて、弟子たちの間に、自分たちの中で、だれが一番偉いかという議論が持ち上がった。
But a thought entered among them, which of them may be greater.
47 しかしイエスは、彼らの心の中の考えを知っておられて、ひとりの子どもの手を取り、自分のそばに立たせ、
But having perceived the thought of their heart, having taken a child, Jesus stood it beside him,
48 彼らに言われた。「だれでも、このような子どもを、わたしの名のゆえに受け入れる者は、わたしを受け入れる者です。また、わたしを受け入れる者は、わたしを遣わされた方を受け入れる者です。あなたがたすべての中で一番小さい者が一番偉いのです。」
and he said to them, Whoever may receive this child in my name receives me, and whoever may receive me receives him who sent me, for he who exists smaller among you all, this man will be great.
49 ヨハネが答えて言った。「先生。私たちは、先生の名を唱えて悪霊を追い出している者を見ましたが、やめさせました。私たちの仲間ではないので、やめさせたのです。」
And having answered, John said, Master, we saw a certain man casting out demons in thy name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us.
50 しかしイエスは、彼に言われた。「やめさせることはありません。あなたがたに反対しない者は、あなたがたの味方です。」
But Jesus said to him, Do not forbid, for he who is not against us is for us.
51 さて、天に上げられる日が近づいて来たころ、イエスは、エルサレムに行こうとして御顔をまっすぐ向けられ、
And it came to pass, while fulfilling the days for his ascension, that he also set his face to go to Jerusalem.
52 ご自分の前に使いを出された。彼らは行って、サマリヤ人の町にはいり、イエスのために準備した。
And he sent agents before his face, and they went. And having gone, they entered into a village of Samaritans, so as to make ready for him.
53 しかし、イエスは御顔をエルサレムに向けて進んでおられたので、サマリヤ人はイエスを受け入れなかった。
And they did not receive him, because his face was going to Jerusalem.
54 弟子のヤコブとヨハネが、これを見て言った。「主よ。私たちが天から火を呼び下して、彼らを焼き滅ぼしましょうか。」
And his disciples James and John having seen, they said, Lord, do thou want that we should call fire to come down from the sky, and consume them, as also Elijah did?
55 しかし、イエスは振り向いて、彼らを戒められた。
But having turned around, he rebuked them, and said, Ye do not know what kind of spirit ye are.
56 そして一行は別の村に行った。
For the Son of man came not to destroy the lives of men, but to save. And they went to another village.
57 さて、彼らが道を進んで行くと、ある人がイエスに言った。「私はあなたのおいでになる所なら、どこにでもついて行きます。」
And it came to pass while they went on the way, a certain man said to him, I will follow thee wherever thou may go, Lord.
58 すると、イエスは彼に言われた。「狐には穴があり、空の鳥には巣があるが、人の子には枕する所もありません。」
And Jesus said to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky, nests, but the Son of man has not where he might lay his head.
59 イエスは別の人に、こう言われた。「わたしについて来なさい。」しかしその人は言った。「まず行って、私の父を葬ることを許してください。」
And he said to another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, allow me first, after departing, to bury my father.
60 すると彼に言われた。「死人たちに彼らの中の死人たちを葬らせなさい。あなたは出て行って、神の国を言い広めなさい。」
But Jesus said to him, Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but thou, after departing, proclaim the kingdom of God.
61 別の人はこう言った。「主よ。あなたに従います。ただその前に、家の者にいとまごいに帰らせてください。」
And also another said, I will follow thee, Lord, but first allow me to bid farewell to those in my house.
62 するとイエスは彼に言われた。「だれでも、手を鋤につけてから、うしろを見る者は、神の国にふさわしくありません。」
But Jesus said to him, No man, having put his hand to a plow, and looking to things behind, is fit for the kingdom of God.
