Leviticus 18
1 And the Lord spak to Moises, and seide, Speke thou to the sones of Israel,
Og Herren tala atter til Moses, og sagde:
2 and thou schalt seie to hem, Y am youre Lord God;
«Tala til Israels-folket, og seg med deim: «Eg er Herren, dykkar Gud.
3 ye schulen not do by the custom of the lond of Egipt, in which ye dwelliden; ye schulen not do bi the custom of the cuntrei of Canaan, `to which Y schal brynge you yn, nethir ye schulen go in the lawful thingis of hem.
De skal ikkje fara etter det som er skikk og sed i Egyptarlandet, der de fyrr budde, eller i Kana’ans-landet, som eg fører dykk til, og ikkje fylgja loverne deira.
4 Ye schulen do my domes, and ye schulen kepe myn heestis, and ye schulen go in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
Mine bod skal de lyda, og mine lover skal de halda dykk etter og fylgja. Eg er Herren, dykkar Gud;
5 Kepe ye my lawis and domes, whiche a man `schal do, and schal lyue in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
de skal halda bodi og loverne mine; held menneskja deim, so skal ho finna livet i deim. Kom i hug: eg er Herren.
6 Ech man schal not neiy to the nyy womman of his blood, that he schewe `the filthe of hir; Y am the Lord.
Ingen av dykk må koma innåt noko nærskyldt kvende og søkja seng med henne; kom i hug: eg er Herren.
7 Thou schalt not diskyuere the filthe of thi fadir and the filthe of thi modir; sche is thi modir, thou schalt not schewe hir filthe.
Du skal hava age for lega åt far din og mor di. Ho er mor di; du skal ikkje søkja seng med henne.
8 Thou schalt not vnhile the filthe of the wijf of thi fadir, for it is the filthe of thi fadir.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med stykmor di; ho er vivet åt far din.
9 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sistir, of fadir `ether of modir, which sister is gendrid at hoome ether without forth.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med syster di, som hev same far eller same mor som du; anten ho er fødd i eller utanfor huset, so skal du ikkje søkja seng med henne.
10 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of thi sone, ether of neece of thi douyter, for it is thi filthe.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med sonedotter eller dotterdotter di; for det er ditt eige avkjøme.
11 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the douyter of the wijf of thi fadir, which sche childide to thi fadir, and is thi sistir.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med dotter åt stykmor di; ho er dotter åt far din, og ho er syster di.
12 Thou schalt not opene the filthe of the `sister of thi fadir, for sche is the fleisch of thi fadir.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med farsyster di; det er same blodet som far din.
13 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of the sistir of thi modir, for sche is the fleisch of thi modir.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med morsyster di; det er same blodet som mor di.
14 Thou schalt not shewe the filthe of the brothir of thi fadir, nethir thou schalt neiye to his wijf, which is ioyned to thee bi affinyte.
Du skal ikkje skjemma lega åt farbror din og koma kona hans for nær; for ho er farsyster di.
15 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi sones wijf, for sche is the wijf of thi sone, nether thou schalt diskiuere hir schenschip; and no man take his brotheris wijf.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med verdotter di. Ho er vivet åt son din; du skal ikkje søkja seng med henne.
16 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of `the wijf of thi brother, for it is the filthe of thi brothir.
Du skal ikkje søkja seng med brorkona di; ho er vivet åt din eigen bror.
17 Thou schalt not schewe the filthe of thi wijf, and of hir douyter; thou schalt not take the douytir of hir sone, and the douytir of hir douyter, that thou schewe hir schenschip; thei ben the fleisch of hir, and siche letcherie is incest.
Hev du havt samlega med et kvende, so skal du ikkje søkja seng med dotter hennar; heller ikkje skal du ganga i seng med sonedotter eller dotterdotter hennar. Det er blodskam; for dei er same folket.
18 Thou schalt not take `the sister of thi wijf, in to concubynage of hir, nethir thou schalt schewe `the filthe of hir, while thi wijf lyueth yit.
Du skal ikkje gifta deg med versyster di og søkja seng med henne, medan kona di liver; for då set du hat millom deim.
19 Thou schalt not neiye to a womman that suffrith rennyng of blood of monethe, nethir thou schalt schewe hir filthe.
Du skal ikkje koma innåt noko kvende og søkja seng med henne, medan ho hev månadssjuken sin og er urein.
20 Thou schalt not do letcherie with `the wijf of thi neiybore, nether thou schalt be defoulid with medlyng of seed.
Du skal ikkje liggja hjå kona åt grannen din og på den måten gjera deg urein.
21 Thou schalt not yyue of thi seed, that it be offrid to the idol Moloch, nether thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
Du skal ikkje gjeva noko av borni dine frå deg til Molok; for då vanhelgar du namnet åt din Gud. Eg er Herren!
22 Thou schalt not be medlid with a man bi letcherie of womman, for it is abhomynacioun.
Du skal ikkje liggja hjå ein kar, som ein ligg med eit kvende; det er ein styggedom.
23 Thou schalt not do letcherie with ony beeste, nethir thou schalt be defoulid with it. A womman schal not ligge vnder a beeste, nether schal be medlid therwith, for it is greet synne.
Med dyr må du aldri blanda deg; for då vert du urein. Og heller ikkje må kvende gjeva seg i lag med dyr og para seg med deim. Det er skjemdarferd.
24 Be ye not defoulid in alle these thingis, in whiche alle `folkis, ether hethen men, ben defoulid, whiche folkis Y schal caste out bifor youre siyt,
Gjer dykk ikkje ureine med sovori åtferd! For slikt var det dei gjorde seg ureine med, dei folki som eg driv ut for augo dykkar;
25 of whiche the lond is defoulid, of which lond Y schal vysyte the grete synnes, that it spewe out hise dwellers.
då vart landet ureint, og eg heimsøkte det for broti deira, og landet støytte deim ut.
26 Kepe ye my lawful thingis and domes, that ye do not of alle these abhomynaciouns, as wel a man borun in the lond as a comelyng which is a pilgrym at you.
Men de skal halda bodi og loverne mine, både de sjølve og dei framande som bur millom dykk; de skal ikkje gjera noko av dei skjemdarverki
27 For the dwellers of the lond, that weren bifor you, diden alle these abhomynaciouns, and defouliden that lond.
som dei sulka ut landet med, dei som åtte det fyre dykk;
28 Therfor be ye war, lest it caste out viliche also you in lijk manere, whanne ye han do lijk synnes, as it castide out vileche the folk, that was bifor you.
for då kjem landet til å støyta dykk ut, for di de sulkar det til, liksom det støytte ut det folket som var der fyre dykk.
29 Ech man that doith ony thing of these abhomynaciouns, schal perische fro the myddis of his puple.
For alle dei som gjer slike skjemdarverk, dei skal rydjast ut or folket sitt.
30 Kepe ye myn heestis; nyle ye do tho thingis, whiche thei that weren bifor you diden, and be ye not defoulid in tho; Y am youre Lord God.
So haldt då dei bodi eg hev gjeve dykk, og tak ikkje etter dei fæle ugjerderne som dei hadde, dei som var fyre dykk; for med det gjer de dykk ureine: Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!»»
