Leviticus 19
1 The Lord spak to Moises, and seide,
Og Herren tala atter til Moses, og sagde:
2 Speke thou to al the cumpenye of the sones of Israel, and thou schalt seie to hem, Be ye hooli, for Y am hooli, youre Lord God.
«Tala til heile Israels-lyden, og seg til deim: «De skal vera heilage; for eg, Herren, dykkar Gud, er heilag.
3 Ech man drede his fadir and his modir. Kepe ye my sabatis; Y am youre Lord God.
De skal hava age for mor og far, og halda helgarne mine. Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!
4 Nyle ye be turned to ydols, nether ye schulen make to you yotun goddis; Y am youre Lord God.
De skal ikkje venda dykk til avgudarne, og ikkje gjera dykk støypte gudar! Eg, Herren, er dykkar Gud.
5 If ye offren a sacrifice of pesible thingis to the Lord, that it be quemeful,
Når de ofrar eit takkoffer til Herren, skal de gjera det soleis at han kann hava hugnad av dykk.
6 ye schulen ete it in that day, in which it is offrid, and in the tother dai; sotheli what euer thing is residue in to the thridde dai, ye schulen brenne in fier.
De skal eta kjøtet same dagen som de ofrar, eller og dagen etter; men det som er att tridje dagen, skal de kasta på elden.
7 If ony man etith therof aftir twei daes, he schal be vnhooli, and gilti of vnfeithfulnes `ether wickidnesse; and he schal bere his wickidnesse,
Den tridje dagen skal det haldast for utskjemt og ureint; et nokon av det då, so hev Herren ingen hugnad i offeret,
8 for he defoulide the hooli thing of the Lord, and his soule schal perische fro his puple.
og den som et av det, gjer ei synd som han lyt lida for: han vanhelgar det som er vigt åt Herren, og han skal rydjast ut or folket sitt.
9 Whanne thou schalt repe the fruytis of thi lond, thou schalt not kitte `til to the ground the corn of the lond, nether thou schalt gadere the eeris of corn that ben left;
Når de haustar kornet av åkrarne dykkar, so skal du ikkje skjera for vel utåt reini, og det som vert liggjande att etter skurden, skal du ikkje plukka upp.
10 nethir in thi vyner thou schalt gadere reysyns and greynes fallynge doun, but thou schalt leeue to be gaderid of pore men and pilgryms; Y am youre Lord God.
Heller ikkje skal du sanka dei bæri som er att på trei etter du hev hausta vinhagen din, eller henta upp deim som er neddotne. Deim skal du lata vera att til dei fatige og framande. Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud.
11 Ye schulen not do thefte. Ye schulen not lye, and no man disseyue his neiybour.
De skal ikkje stela, og de skal ikkje dylja burt det som de hev i varveitsla, og de skal ikkje svika kvarandre.
12 Thou schalt not forswere in my name, nethir thou schalt defoule the name of thi God; Y am the Lord.
De skal ikkje sverja på lygn i namnet mitt; for då vanhelgar de namnet åt dykkar Gud. Kom i hug: eg er Herren.
13 Thou schalt not make fals chalenge to thi neiybore, nethir thou schalt oppresse hym bi violence. The werk of thin hirid man schal not dwelle at thee til the morewtid.
Du skal ikkje gjera urett mot grannen din, og ikkje rana ifrå honom. Det ein dagarbeidar skal hava i løn, må ikkje verta liggjande hjå deg natti yver.
14 Thou schalt not curse a deef man, nether thou schalt sette an hurtyng bifor a blynd man; but thou schalt drede thi Lord God, for Y am the Lord.
Du skal ikkje banna den som dauv er, og ikkje leggja mein i vegen for den som er blind. Du skal hava age for din Gud; eg er Herren!
15 Thou schalt not do that, that is wickid, nether thou schalt deme vniustli; biholde thou not the persoone of a pore man, nethir onoure thou the face of a myyti man; deme thou iustli to thi neiybore.
De skal ikkje gjera urett mot nokon på tinget; ikkje skal du halda med ein mann for di han er fatig, og ikkje skal du snilda på saki hans for di han er rik; rettferdigt skal du døma landsmannen din.
16 Thou schalt not be a sclaunderere, nether a priuey bacbitere in the puplis; thou schalt not stonde ayens the blood of thi neiybore; Y am the Lord.
Du skal ikkje ganga ikring og baktala folk. Du skal ikkje leggja deg ut um å få grannen din dømd frå livet. Kom i hug: eg er Herren!
17 Thou schalt not hate thi brothir in thin herte, but repreue hym opynly, lest thou haue synne on hym.
Du skal ikkje bera hat til bror din i hjarta; men du må vel tala honom til rettes, so du ikkje skal bera synd for hans skuld.
18 Thou schalt not seke veniaunce, nether thou schalt be myndeful of the wrong of thi cyteseyns; thou schalt loue thi freend as thi silf; Y am the Lord.
Du skal ikkje hemna deg og ikkje bera agg til nokon av landsfolket ditt, men du skal vilja grannen din likso vel som deg sjølv. Kom i hug: eg er Herren.
19 Kepe ye my lawis. Thou schalt not make thi beestis to gendre with the lyuynge beestis of another kynde. Thou schalt not sowe the feeld with dyuerse sede. Thou schalt not be clothid in a cloth, which is wouun of twei thingis.
De skal halda loverne mine! Du skal ikkje lata tvo dyr av ulikt slag para seg. Du skal ikkje så åkeren din med tvo ulike kornslag. Du skal ikkje ganga med klæde som er vovne av tvo ulike garnslag.
20 If a man slepith with a womman by fleischly knowyng of seed, which womman is an `hand maide, ye, a noble womman of kyn, and netheles is not ayenbouyt bi prijs, nethir rewardid with fredom, bothe schulen be betun, and thei schulen not die, for sche was not fre.
Når ei kvinna er i tenesta hjå ei mann som ho er trulova med, men ikkje er utløyst eller frigjevi, og so ein annan mann ligg med henne og skjemmer henne, so skal ein fylgja deim med retten, men dei skal ikkje straffast på livet, etter di ho ikkje var fri kvinna.
21 Sotheli the man for his trespas schal offre a ram to the Lord, at the dore of the tabernacle of witnessyng;
Han skal til bot for brotet sitt koma til møtetjelddøri med ein ver, som skal vera skuldoffer åt Herren,
22 and the preest schal preye for hym, and for his trespas, bifor the Lord; and the Lord schal be merciful to hym, and the synne schal be foryouun.
og når presten hev gjort soning for honom hjå Herren med skuldofferveren, skal han få tilgjeving for den syndi han hev gjort.
23 Whanne ye han entrid in to the lond of biheest, and han plauntid therynne appil trees, ye schulen do awei the firste flouris; the applis whiche tho trees bryngen forth, schulen be vncleene to you, nethir ye schulen ete of tho.
Når de kjem åt landet dykkar, og plantar allslags frukttre, so skal de halda den fyrste frukti dei ber for urein; tri år skal trei vera ureine for dykk, og de må ikkje eta frukti deira.
24 Forsothe in the fourthe yeer al the fruyt of tho trees schal be `halewid preiseful to the Lord;
Det fjorde året skal all frukti vigjast åt Herren med ei takkehøgtid.
25 forsothe in the fifthe yeer ye schulen ete fruytis, and schulen gadere applis, whiche tho trees bryngen forth; Y am youre Lord God.
Fyrst i det femte året må de eta frukti deira, so skal dei bera so mykje meir åt dykk sidan. Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!
26 Ye schulen not ete fleisch with blood. Ye schulen not make veyn diuynyng, nether ye schulen kepe dremes;
De må ikkje eta noko med blodet i. De skal ikkje fara med spådoms- eller trollkunster.
27 nether ye schulen clippe the heer in round, nether ye schulen schaue the beerd;
De skal ikkje rundklyppa håret dykkar, og ikkje stytta skjegget.
28 and on deed men ye schulen not kitte youre fleischis, nether ye schulen make to you ony fyguris, ether markis in youre fleisch; Y am the Lord.
De skal ikkje skjera dykk i holdet av sorg yver ein som er avliden, og ikkje brenna inn bokstaver eller bilæte på likamen dykkar. Kom i hug: eg er Herren!
29 Sette thou not thi douytir to do leccherie for hire, and the lond be defoulid, and be fillid with synne.
Du skal ikkje vanhelga dotter di, og lata henne verta skjøkja, so folket vert usedugt og landet fullt av ulivnad.
30 Kepe ye my sabatis, and drede ye my seyntuarie; Y `am the Lord.
De skal halda helgarne mine, og hava age for heilagdomen min. Eg er Herren.
31 Bowe ye not to astronomyers, nether axe ye ony thing of fals dyuynours, that ye be defoulid bi hem; Y am youre Lord God.
Gakk ikkje til deim som manar fram draugar og spåvette! Lat deim ikkje spå dykk; for med de gjer de dykk ureine. Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!
32 Rise thou bifor an hoor heed, and onoure thou the persoone of an eld man, and drede thou thi Lord God; Y am the Lord.
For dei grå håri skal du reisa deg og æra den som gamall er; du skal hava age for din Gud. Kom i hug: eg er Herren.
33 If a comelyng enhabitith in youre lond, and dwellith among you, dispise ye not hym,
Når ein framand bur hjå deg og held til i landet dykkar, so skal de ikkje vera hard med honom;
34 but be he among you as a man borun in the lond; and ye schulen loue hym as you silf, for also ye weren comelyngis in the lond of Egipt; Y am youre Lord God.
han skal vera for dykk som ein av landsmennerne dine, og du skal vilja honom likso vel som deg sjølv; for de var og framande i Egyptarlandet. Kom i hug: eg er Herren, dykkar Gud!
35 Nyle ye do ony wickid thing in doom, in reule, in weiyte, and in mesure; the balance be iust,
De skal ingen urett gjera, korkje på ting eller torg; rett famn og rett aln,
36 and the weiytis be euene, the buschel be iust, and the sextarie be euene; Y am youre Lord God, that ladde you out of the lond of Egipt.
rett vegt og rette lodd, rett skjeppa og rett kanna skal de bruka. Eg er Herren, dykkar Gud, som fylgde dykk ut or Egyptarlandet.
37 Kepe ye alle myn heestis, and alle domes, and do ye tho; Y am the Lord.
Agta vel på alle loverne og retterne mine, og liv etter deim! Kom i hug: eg er Herren!»»
