Psalms 95

1 Come, let us sing aloud to Jehovah, let us shout for joy to the rock of our salvation;

Tulkaa, kohottakaamme ilohuuto Herralle, riemuhuuto pelastuksemme kalliolle.

2 Let us come before his face with thanksgiving; let us shout aloud unto him with psalms.

Käykäämme kiittäen hänen kasvojensa eteen, veisatkaamme hänelle riemuvirsiä.

3 For Jehovah is a great God, and a great king above all gods.

Sillä Herra on suuri Jumala, suuri kuningas yli kaikkien jumalien.

4 In his hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also:

Maan syvyydet ovat hänen kädessänsä, ja hänen ovat vuorten kukkulat.

5 The sea is his, and he made it, and his hands formed the dry [land].

Hänen on meri, sillä hän on sen tehnyt, ja kuiva maa, jonka hänen kätensä ovat valmistaneet.

6 Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker.

Tulkaa, kumartukaamme ja polvistukaamme, polvillemme langetkaamme Herran, meidän Luojamme, eteen.

7 For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture and the sheep of his hand. To-day if ye hear his voice,

Sillä hän on meidän Jumalamme, ja me olemme kansa, jota hän paimentaa, lauma, jota hänen kätensä kaitsee. Jospa te tänä päivänä kuulisitte hänen äänensä:

8 Harden not your heart, as at Meribah, as [in] the day of Massah, in the wilderness;

"Älkää paaduttako sydäntänne, niinkuin Meribassa, niinkuin Massan päivänä erämaassa,

9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work.

jossa teidän isänne minua kiusasivat, jossa he koettelivat minua, vaikka olivat nähneet minun tekoni.

10 Forty years was I grieved with the generation, and said, It is a people that do err in their heart, and they have not known my ways;

Neljäkymmentä vuotta minä olin kyllästynyt siihen sukuun ja sanoin: 'He ovat kansa, jonka sydän on eksynyt, eivätkä he tahdo tietää minun teistäni'.

11 So that I swore in mine anger, that they should not enter into my rest.

Ja niin minä vihassani vannoin: 'He eivät pääse minun lepooni'."
