1 Павел, апостол Ісуса Христа, по повелінню Бога, Спаса нашого, і Господа Ісуса Христа, надії нашої,
Pavl an Apostle of Iesvs Christ, by the commandement of God our Sauiour, and of our Lord Iesus Christ our hope,
2 Тимотею, правдивому сину в вірі: Благодать, милость, мир од Бога, Отця нашого, і Христа Ісуса, Господа нашого.
Vnto Timotheus my naturall sonne in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father, and from Christ Iesus our Lord.
3 Яко із ублагав я тебе пробувати в Єфесї, ідучи в Македонию, щоб завітував деяким не инше вчити,
As I besought thee to abide still in Ephesus, when I departed into Macedonia, so doe, that thou mayest warne some, that they teach none other doctrine,
4 анї вважати на видумки та не скінчені родоводи, котрі більш роблять змагання, ніж Божого будування в вірі.
Neither that they giue heede to fables and genealogies which are endles, which breede questions rather then godly edifying which is by fayth.
5 Конець же завітування єсть любов з щирого серця та совісти благої і віри не лицемірної,
For the end of the commandement is loue out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith vnfained.
6 у котрих деякі погрішивши, вдались у пусті слова,
From the which things some haue erred, and haue turned vnto vaine iangling.
7 хотячи бути законоучителями, не розуміючи, нї що говорять, нї об чому впевняють.
They would be doctours of the Law, and yet vnderstande not what they speake, neither whereof they affirme.
8 Знаємо ж, що закон добрий, кода хто його законно творить,
And we knowe, that the Law is good, if a man vse it lawfully,
9 знаючи се, що ве про праведника закон положений, а про беззаконних та непокірних, нечестивих та грішних, неправедних та скверних, про убивць батька й матери, про душогубців,
Knowing this, that the Lawe is not giuen vnto a righteous man, but vnto the lawles and disobedient, to the vngodly, and to sinners, to the vnholy, and to the prophane, to murtherers of fathers and mothers, to manslayers,
10 про блудників, мужоложників, про людокрадів, брехунів, про тих, що криво присягають, і коли що иншого здоровій науцї противить ся,
To whoremongers, to buggerers, to menstealers, to lyers, to the periured, and if there be any other thing, that is contrary to wholesome doctrine,
11 по славному благовістю блаженного Бога, котре менї звірено.
Which is according to the glorious Gospel of the blessed God, which is committed vnto me.
12 І дякую Тому, хто скріпляє мене, Хрнсту Ісусу, Господу нашому, що за вірного мене вважав, поставивши мене на службу,
Therefore I thanke him, which hath made me strong, that is, Christ Iesus our Lord: for he counted me faithfull, and put me in his seruice:
13 мене, що був колись хулителем і гонителем і знущателсм, та помилувано мене; бо, невідаючи, робив я в невірстві.
When before I was a blasphemer, and a persecuter, and an oppresser: but I was receiued to mercie: for I did it ignorantly through vnbeliefe.
14 Намножила ся ж благодать Господа нашого вірою і любовю, що в Христї Ісусї.
But the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and loue, which is in Christ Iesus.
15 Вірне се слово і всякого прийняття достойне, що Христос Ісус прийшов у мир грішників спасти, між котрими я первий.
This is a true saying, and by all meanes worthy to be receiued, that Christ Iesus came into the worlde to saue sinners, of whom I am chiefe.
16 Та ради сього й помилувано мене, щоб на менї первому показав Ісус Христос усе довготерпіннє, на приклад тим, що мають вірувати в Него на житте вічне. (aiōnios g166)
Notwithstanding, for this cause was I receiued to mercie, that Iesus Christ should first shewe on me all long suffering vnto the ensample of them, which shall in time to come beleeue in him vnto eternall life. (aiōnios g166)
17 Цареві ж вічному нетлінному, невидимому, єдиному премудрому Богу честь і слава на віки вічні. Амінь. (aiōn g165)
Nowe vnto the King euerlasting, immortall, inuisible, vnto God onely wise, be honour and glorie, for euer, and euer, Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 Се ж завітуваннє передаю тобі, сину Тимотею, по пророцтвах, що були перше про тебе, щоб воював ти в них доброю війною,
This commandement commit I vnto thee, sonne Timotheus, according to the prophecies, which went before vpon thee, that thou by them shouldest fight a good fight,
19 маючи віру і добру совість, котру деякі відкинувши, од віри відпали.
Hauing faith and a good conscience, which some haue put away, and as concerning faith, haue made shipwracke.
20 Між ними ж Іменей та Александр, котрих я передав сатанї, щоб навчились не хулити.
Of whom is Hymeneus, and Alexander, whom I haue deliuered vnto Satan, that they might learne not to blaspheme.
