1 Ɔsoroforo dwom. Awurade kae Dawid ne ɔhaw ahorow a ogyinaa ano no.
[A Song of Ascents.] Jehovah, remember David and all his affliction,
2 Ɔkaa Awurade ntam, na ɔhyɛɛ nea ɔyɛ Otumfo ma Yakob no bɔ se,
how he swore to Jehovah, and vowed to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 “Merenhyɛn me fi na merenkɔda me mpa so,
"Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 meremma nna mmfa me na meremma mʼani nkum,
I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;
5 kosi sɛ menya baabi ama Awurade, baabi a nea ɔyɛ Otumfo ma Yakob No bɛtena.”
until I find out a place for Jehovah, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob."
6 Yɛtee wɔ Efrata, yɛbɛtoo so wɔ Yaar mfuw so.
Look, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:
7 “Momma yɛnkɔ nʼatenae; momma yɛnsom wɔ ne nan ntiaso hɔ.
"We will go into his dwelling place. We will worship at his footstool.
8 ‘Awurade, sɔre bra wʼahomegyebea, wo ne wo tumi adaka no.
Arise, Jehovah, to your resting place, you and the ark of your strength.
9 Ma trenee nyɛ sɛ ntade mma wʼasɔfo; ma wʼahotefo nto ahurusi nnwom.’”
Let your priest be clothed with righteousness. Let your faithful ones shout for joy."
10 Wo somfo Dawid nti, nyi wʼani mfi nea woasra no ngo no so.
For your servant David's sake, do not turn away the face of your anointed one.
11 Awurade kaa ntam kyerɛɛ Dawid, nokware ntam a ɔntwe nsan se, “Wʼasefo no mu baako na mede no bɛtena wʼahengua so.
Jehovah has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: "I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.
12 Sɛ wo mmabarima di mʼapam so na wotie me nkyerɛkyerɛ a, ɛno de wɔn mmabarima bɛtena wʼahengua so afebɔɔ.”
If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore."
13 Awurade ayi Sion, ɔde hɔ ayɛ nʼatenae:
For Jehovah has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his dwelling.
14 “Ɛha ne mʼahomegyebea daa nyinaa; ɛha na mɛtena adi hene, efisɛ ha na mepɛ,
"This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.
15 mede nneɛma pa bebree behyira no na mama nʼahiafo adidi amee.
I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 Mede nkwagye befura nʼasɔfo, na nʼahotewfo ato ahurusi nnwom daa.
Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her faithful ones will shout aloud for joy.
17 “Mɛma obirɛmpɔn bi apue wɔ Dawid ahenni mu, na mede kanea asi hɔ ama nea masra no ngo no.
There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.
18 Mede aniwu befura nʼatamfo, nanso wɔbɛhyɛ no ahenkyɛw a ɛhyerɛn.”
I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent."
