Psaltaren 146
1 Halleluja. Lofva Herran, min själ.
Praise Yahweh! With my whole inner being I will praise Yahweh.
2 Jag vill lofva Herran, så länge jag lefver, och lofsjunga minom Gud, så länge jag här är.
I will praise Yahweh as long as I am alive; I will sing to praise my God for [the rest of] my life.
3 Förlåter eder icke uppå Förstar; de äro menniskor, de kunna intet hjelpa.
[You people], do not trust in your leaders; do not trust humans because they cannot save/rescue you [from your difficulties/problems].
4 Ty menniskones ande måste sin väg, och hon måste åter till jord varda; då äro förtappade alle hennes anslag.
And when they die, their corpses [decay and] become soil again. After they die, they can no longer do the things that they planned to do.
5 Säll är den, hvilkens hjelp Jacobs Gud är; hvilkens hopp på Herran hans Gud står;
But those whose helper is the God whom Jacob [worshiped] are happy. The one whom they confidently expect [to help them] is Yahweh, their God.
6 Den himmelen, jordena, hafvet och allt det derinne är, gjort hafver; den tro håller evinnerliga;
He is the one who created heaven and the earth and the oceans and all [the creatures] that are in them. He always does what he has promised to do.
7 Den rätt skaffar dem som våld lida: den de hungroga spisar. Herren löser de fångna.
He decides matters fairly for those who are (treated unfairly/oppressed), and he provides food for those who are hungry. He frees those who are in prison.
8 Herren gör de blinda seende; Herren upprättar de som nederslagne äro; Herren älskar de rättfärdiga.
Yahweh enables those who are blind to see again. He lifts up those who have fallen down. He loves righteous [people].
9 Herren bevarar de främlingar och faderlösa, och uppehåller enkorna, och tillbakavänder de ogudaktigas väg.
Yahweh takes care of those from other countries who live in our land, and he helps widows and orphans. But he gets rid of wicked [people].
10 Herren är Konung evinnerliga, din Gud, Zion, förutan ända. Halleluja.
Yahweh will [continue to] be our king forever; you people of Israel, your God will rule forever! Praise Yahweh!
