Hechos 6
1 EN aquellos dias, creciendo el número de los discípulos, hubo murmuracion de los Griegos contra los Hebréos; de que sus viudas eran menospreciadas en el ministerio cotidiano.
But in tho daies, whanne the noumbre of disciplis encreesside, the Grekis grutchiden ayens the Ebrews, for that her widewis weren dispisid in euery daies mynystryng.
2 Así que los doce convocaron la multitud de los discípulos, y dijeron: No es justo que nosotros dejemos la palabra de Dios, y sirvamos á las mesas.
And the twelue clepiden togidere the multitude of disciplis, and seiden, It is not ryytful, that we leeuen the word of God, and mynystren to boordis.
3 Buscad pues, hermanos, siete varones de vosotros de buen testimonio, llenos de Espíritu Santo y de sabiduría, los cuales pongamos en esta obra.
Therfor, britheren, biholde ye men of you of good fame, ful of the Hooli Goost and of wisdom, whiche we schulen ordeyne on this werk;
4 Y nosotros persistirémos en la oracion y en el ministerio de la palabra.
for we schulen be bisi to preier, and preche the word of God.
5 Y plugo el parecer á toda la multitud; y eligieron á Esteban, varon lleno de fé y de Espíritu Santo, y á Felipe, y á Procoro, y á Nicanor y á Timon, y á Parmenas, y á Nicolás, prosélito de Antioquía.
And the word pleside bifor al the multitude; and thei chesiden Styuen, a man ful of feith and of the Hooli Goost, and Filip, and Procore, and Nycanor, and Tymon, and Parmanam, and Nycol, a comelyng, a man of Antioche.
6 A estos presentaron delante de los apóstoles, los cuales orando les pusieron las manos encima.
Thei ordeyneden these bifor the siyt of apostlis, and thei preyeden, and leiden hoondis on hem.
7 Y crecia la palabra del Señor, y el número de los discípulos se multiplicaba mucho en Jerusalem: tambien una gran multitud de los sacerdotes obedecia á la fé.
And the word of the Lord wexide, and the noumbre of the disciplis in Jerusalem was myche multiplied; also myche cumpany of preestis obeiede to the feith.
8 Empero Esteban, lleno de gracia y de potencia, hacia prodigios y milagros grandes en el pueblo.
And Steuen, ful of grace and of strengthe, made wondris and grete signes in the puple.
9 Levantáronse entónces unos de la sinagoga que se llama de los Libertinos, y Cirenéos, y Alejandrinos, y de los de Cilicia, y de Asia, disputando con Esteban.
But summe rysen of the synagoge, that was clepid of Libertyns, and Cirenensis, and of men of Alisaundre, and of hem that weren of Cilice and of Asie, and disputiden with Steuene.
10 Mas no podian resistir á la sabiduría y al espíritu con que hablaba.
And thei miyten not withstonde the wisdom and the spirit, that spak.
11 Entónces sobornaron á unos que dijesen que le habian oido hablar palabras blasfemas contra Moisés y Dios.
Thanne thei priueli senten men, that schulden seie, that thei herden hym seiynge wordis of blasfemye ayens Moises and God.
12 Y conmovieron al pueblo, y á los ancianos y á los escribas; y arremetiendo, le arrebataron y trajeron al concilio.
And so thei moueden togidere the puple, and the eldre men, and the scribis; and thei rannen togidre, and token hym, and brouyten in to the counsel.
13 Y pusieron testigos falsos que dijesen: Este hombre no cesa de hablar palabras blasfemas contra este lugar santo y la ley.
And thei ordeyneden false witnessis, that seiden, This man ceessith not to speke wordis ayens the hooli place, and the lawe.
14 Porque le hemos oido decir, que este Jesus de Nazaret destruirá este lugar, y mudará las ordenanzas que nos dió Moisés.
For we herden hym seiynge, That this Jhesus of Nazareth schal destrye this place, and schal chaunge the tradiciouns, whiche Moyses bitook to us.
15 Entónces todos los que estaban sentados en el concilio, puestos los ojos en él, vieron su rostro como el rostro de un ángel.
And alle men that seten in the counsel bihelden hym, and sayn his face as the face of an aungel.
