Hechos 5
1 MAS un varon llamado Ananías, con Safira su mujer, vendió una posesion,
But a man, Anany bi name, with Safira, his wijf,
2 Y defraudó del precio, sabiéndo[lo] tambien su mujer; y trayendo una parte, púso[la] á los piés de los apóstoles.
seelde a feeld, and defraudide of the prijs of the feeld; and his wijf was witinge. And he brouyte a part, and leide bifor the feet of the apostlis.
3 Y dijo Pedro: Ananías, ¿Por qué ha llenado Satanás tu corazon á que mintieses al Espíritu Santo, y defraudases del precio de la heredad?
And Petre seide to hym, Anany, whi hath Sathanas temptid thin herte, that thou lye to the Hooli Goost, and to defraude of the prijs of the feeld?
4 Reteniéndola ¿no se te quedaba á tí? y vendida, ¿no estaba [el precio] en tu potestad? ¿Por qué pusiste esto en tu corazon? No has mentido á los hombres, sino á Dios.
Whethir it vnseld was not thin; and whanne it was seld, it was in thi power? Whi hast thou put this thing in thin herte? Thou hast not lied to men, but to God.
5 Entónces Ananías, oyendo estas palabras, cayó, y espiró. Y vino un gran temor sobre todos los que lo oyeron.
Anany herde these wordis, and felde doun, and was deed. And greet drede was maad on alle that herden.
6 Y levantándose los mancebos le tomaron; y sacándo[lo, ] sepultáron[le.]
And yonge men risen, and mouyden hym awei, and baren hym out, and birieden.
7 Y pasado espacio como de tres horas, sucedió que entró su mujer, no sabiendo lo que habia acontecido.
And ther was maad as a space of thre ouris, and his wijf knewe not that thing that was don, and entride.
8 Entónces Pedro le dijo: Díme: ¿vendísteis en tanto la heredad? Y ella dijo: Sí, en tanto.
And Petre answerde to hir, Womman, seie to me, whether ye seelden the feeld for so mych? And sche seide, Yhe, for so mych.
9 Y Pedro le dijo: ¿Por qué os concertásteis para tentar al Espíritu del Señor? Hé aquí á la puerta los piés de los que han sepultado á tu marido, y te sacarán [á sepultar.]
And Petre seide to hyr, What bifelde to you, to tempte the spirit of the Lord? Lo! the feet of hem that han birieden thin hosebonde ben at the dore, and thei schulen bere thee out.
10 Y luego cayó á los piés de él, y espiró: y entrados los mancebos, la hallaron^ muerta; y [la] sacaron, y [la] sepultaron junto á su marido.
Anoon sche felde doun at hise feet, and diede. And the yonge men entriden, and founden hir deed, and thei baren hir out, and birieden to hir hosebonde.
11 Y vino un gran temor en toda la iglesia y en todos los que oyeron estas cosas.
And greet drede was maad in al the chirche, and in to alle that herden these thingis.
12 Y por las manos de los apóstoles eran hechos muchos milagros y prodigios en el pueblo; (y estaban todos unánimes en el pórtico de Salomon:
And bi the hoondis of the apostlis signes and many wondris weren maad in the puple. And alle weren of oon acord in the porche of Salomon.
13 Y de los otros, ninguno osaba juntarse con ellos; mas el pueblo los alababa grandemente.
But no man of othere durste ioyne hymsilf with hem, but the puple magnyfiede hem.
14 Y los que creian en el Señor se aumentaban mas, gran número así de hombres como de mujeres: )
And the multitude of men and of wymmen bileuynge in the Lord was more encreessid,
15 Tanto que echaban los enfermos por las calles, y [los] ponian en camas y en lechos, para que viniendo Pedro, á lo ménos su sombra tocase á alguno de ellos.
so that thei brouyten out sike men in to stretis, and leiden in litle beddis and couchis, that whanne Petre cam, nameli the schadew of hym schulde schadewe ech of hem, and thei schulden be delyuerid fro her syknessis.
16 Y aun de las ciudades vecinas concurria multitud á Jerusalem, trayendo enfermos, y atormentados de espíritus inmundos, los cuales todos eran curados.
And the multitude of citees niy to Jerusalem ran, bryngynge sijk men, and that weren trauelid of vnclene spiritis, whiche alle weren heelid.
17 Entónces levantándose el príncipe de los sacerdotes, y todos los que estaban con él, que es la secta de los Saducéos, se llenaron de zelo,
But the prince of preestis roos vp, and alle that weren with hym, that is the eresye of Saduceis, and weren fillid with enuye;
18 Y echaron mano á los apóstoles, y pusiéronlos en la cárcel pública.
and leiden hondis on the apostlis, and puttiden hem in the comyn warde.
19 Mas el ángel del Señor, abriendo de noche las puertas de la cárcel, y sacándoles, dijo:
But the aungel of the Lord openyde bi nyyt the yatis of the prisoun, and ledde hem out, and seide, Go ye,
20 Id, y estando en el templo, hablad al pueblo todas las palabras de esta vida.
and stonde ye, and speke in the temple to the puple alle the wordis of this lijf.
21 Y oido que hubieron [esto, ] entraron de mañana en el templo, y enseñaban. Entretanto viniendo el príncipe de los sacerdotes, y los que eran con él, convocaron el concilio, y á todos los ancianos de los hijos de Israel, y enviaron á la cárcel para que fues
Whom whanne thei hadden herd, thei entriden eerli in to the temple, and tauyten. And the prince of preestis cam, and thei that weren with him, and clepiden togidre the counsel, and alle the eldre men of the children of Israel; and senten to the prisoun, that thei schulden be brouyt forth.
22 Mas como llegaron los ministros, y no les hallaron en la cárcel, volvieron, y dieron aviso,
And whanne the mynystris camen, founden hem not, and for the prisoun was openyd, thei turneden ayen,
23 Diciendo: Por cierto la cárcel hemos hallado cerrada con toda seguridad, y los guardas que estaban delante de las puertas, mas cuando abrimos, á nadie hallamos dentro.
and teelden, and seiden, We founden the prisoun schit with al diligence, and the keperis stondynge at the yatis; but we opneden, and founden no man ther ynne.
24 Y cuando oyeron estas palabras el pontífice y el magistrado del templo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, dudaban en qué vendria á parar aquello.
And as the maiestratis of the temple, and the princis of preestis herden these wordis, thei doutiden of hem, what was don.
25 Pero viniendo uno, dióles [esta] noticia: Hé aquí los varones que echásteis en la cárcel, están en el templo, y enseñan al pueblo.
But a man cam, and teelde to hem, For lo! tho men whiche ye han put in to prisoun, ben in the temple, and stonden, and techen the puple.
26 Entónces fué el magistrado con los ministros, y trájoles sin violencia, porque temian del pueblo ser apedreados.
Thanne the magistrat wente with the mynystris, and brouyte hem with out violence; for thei dredden the puple, lest thei schulden be stonyd.
27 Y como los trajeron, [los] presentaron en el concilio; y el príncipe de los sacerdotes les preguntó,
And whanne thei hadden brouyt hem, thei settiden hem in the counsel; and the princes of prestis axiden hem,
28 Diciendo: ¿No os denunciamos estrechamente, que no enseñaseis en este nombre, y hé aquí habeis llenado á Jerusalem de vuestra doctrina, y quereis echar sobre nosotros la sangre de este hombre.
and seiden, In comaundement we comaundiden you, that ye schulden not teche in this name, and lo! ye han fillid Jerusalem with youre teching, and ye wolen bringe on vs the blood of this man.
29 Y respondiendo Pedro y los apóstoles, dijeron: Es menester obedecer á Dios ántes que á los hombres.
And Petre answeride, and the apostlis, and seiden, It bihoueth to obeie to God, more than to men.
30 El Dios de nuestros padres levantó a Jesus, al cual vosotros matásteis colgándole en un madero.
God of oure fadris reiside Jhesu, whom ye slowen, hangynge in a tre.
31 A este ha Dios ensalzado con su diestra por Príncipe y Salvador, para dar á Israel arrepentimiento y remision de pecados.
God enhaunside with his riythond this prince and sauyour, that penaunce were yyue to Israel, and remyssioun of synnes.
32 Y nosotros somos testigos suyos de estas cosas, y tambien el Espíritu Santo, el cual ha dado Dios á los que le obedecen.
And we ben witnessis of these wordis, and the Hooli Goost, whom God yaf to alle obeischinge to him.
33 Ellos oyendo [esto] regañaban, y consultaban matarles.
Whanne thei herden these thingis, thei weren turmentid, and thouyten to sle hem.
34 Entónces levantándose en el concilio un Fariséo, llamado Gamaliel, doctor de la ley, venerable á todo el pueblo, mandó que sacasen fuera un poco á los apóstoles;
But a man roos in the counsel, a Farise, Gamaliel bi name, a doctour of the lawe, a worschipful man to al the puple, and comaundide the men to be put without forth for a while.
35 Y les dijo: Varones Israelitas, mirad por vosotros acerca de estos hombres en lo que habeis de hacer.
And he seide to hem, Ye men of Israel, take tent to you silf on these men, what ye schulen do.
36 Porque ántes de estos dias se levantó [un] Teudas, diciendo que era alguien; al que se agregó un número de hombres, como cuatrocientos; el cual fué matado, y todos los que le creyeron fueron dispersos, y reducidos á nada.
For bifore these daies Teodas, that seide hym silf to be sum man, to whom a noumbre of men consentiden, aboute foure hundrid; which was slayn, and alle that bileueden to hym, weren disparplit, and brouyt to nouyt.
37 Despues de este se levantó Júdas el Galiléo en los dias del empadronamiento, y llevó mucho pueblo tras sí. Pereció tambien aquel, y todos los que consintieron con el fueron derramados.
Aftir this, Judas of Galilee was in the daies of professioun, and turnyde awei the puple aftir hym; and alle hou manye euere consentiden to hym, weren scatered, and he perischide.
38 Y ahora os digo: Dejáos de estos hombres, y dejadles; porque si este consejo, ó esta obra es de los hombres, se desvanecerá;
And now therfor Y seie to you, departe ye fro these men, and suffre ye hem; for if this counsel ether werk is of men, it schal be vndon;
39 Mas si es de Dios, no la podreis deshacer: [mirad] no seais tal vez hallados resistiendo á Dios.
but if it is of God, ye moun not vndo hem, lest perauenture ye be foundun to repugne God.
40 Y convinieron con él: y llamando á los apóstoles, despues de azotados, [les] intimaron que no hablasen en el nombre de Jesus, y soltáronlos.
And thei consentiden to him; and thei clepiden togidere the apostlis, and denounsiden to hem, that weren betun, that thei schulden no more speke in the name of Jhesu, and thei leten hem go.
41 Y ellos partieron de delante del concilio, gozosos de que fuesen tenidos por dignos de padecer afrenta por el nombre de [Jesus.]
And thei wenten ioiynge fro the siyt of the counsel, that thei weren had worthi to suffre dispisyng for the name of Jhesu.
42 Y todos los dias, en el templo. y por las casas, no cesaban de enseñar y predicar á Jesu-Cristo.
But ech dai thei ceessiden not in the temple, and aboute housis, to teche and to preche Jhesu Crist.
