2 Corintios 7

1 Así pues, amados, teniendo estas promesas, limpiémonos de toda contaminación de carne y de espíritu, perfeccionando la santidad en el temor de Dios.

Having therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Abran sus corazones a nosotros. No hemos hecho daño a nadie. No corrompimos a nadie. No nos hemos aprovechado de nadie.

Open your hearts to us. We wronged no one. We corrupted no one. We took advantage of no one.

3 No digo esto para condenaros, pues ya he dicho antes que estáis en nuestro corazón para morir juntos y vivir juntos.

I say this not to condemn you, for I have said before, that you are in our hearts to die together and live together.

4 Grande es mi audacia al hablar con vosotros. Grande es mi jactancia en vuestro favor. Estoy lleno de consuelo. Desbordo de alegría en toda nuestra aflicción.

Great is my boldness of speech toward you. Great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I overflow with joy in all our affliction.

5 Porque aun cuando llegamos a Macedonia, nuestra carne no tuvo alivio, sino que fuimos afligidos por todas partes. Las luchas estaban fuera. El miedo estaba dentro.

For even when we had come into Macedonia, our flesh had no relief, but we were afflicted on every side. Fightings were outside. Fear was inside.

6 Sin embargo, el que consuela a los humildes, Dios, nos consoló con la venida de Tito,

Nevertheless, he who comforts the lowly, God, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

7 y no sólo con su venida, sino también con el consuelo con el que fue consolado en vosotros mientras nos contaba vuestras ansias, vuestros lamentos y vuestro celo por mí, de modo que me alegré aún más.

and not by his coming only, but also by the comfort with which he was comforted in you, while he told us of your longing, your mourning, and your zeal for me; so that I rejoiced still more.

8 Porque, aunque te he hecho sufrir con mi carta, no me arrepiento de ello, aunque lo haya lamentado. Porque veo que mi carta os ha contrariado, aunque sólo por un tiempo.

For though I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it, though I did regret it. For I see that my letter made you sorry, though just for a while.

9 Ahora me alegro, no de que hayáis sido contrariados, sino de que hayáis sido contrariados hasta el arrepentimiento. Porque os habéis afligido piadosamente, para que no sufráis pérdida por nosotros en nada.

I now rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that you were made sorry to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly way, that you might suffer loss by us in nothing.

10 Porque la tristeza piadosa produce el arrepentimiento que lleva a la salvación, la cual no produce arrepentimiento. Pero la tristeza del mundo produce la muerte.

For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, which brings no regret. But the sorrow of the world works death.

11 Porque he aquí, esto mismo, que fuisteis entristecidos de una manera piadosa, ¡qué cuidado tan serio obró en vosotros! Sí, ¡qué defensa, indignación, temor, anhelo, celo y vindicación! En todo os mostrasteis puros en el asunto.

For look at this very thing, that you were made sorry in a godly way. What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what vindication. In everything you proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter.

12 Por eso, aunque os escribí, no lo hice por su causa, que fue la que hizo el mal, ni por su causa, que fue la que sufrió el mal, sino para que vuestra ferviente preocupación por nosotros se manifestara en vosotros a los ojos de Dios.

So although I wrote to you, I wrote not for his cause that did the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered the wrong, but that your earnest care for us might be revealed in you in the sight of God.

13 Por eso hemos sido consolados. En nuestro consuelo nos regocijamos aún más por la alegría de Tito, porque su espíritu ha sido refrescado por todos vosotros.

Therefore we have been comforted. In our comfort we rejoiced the more exceedingly for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

14 Pues si en algo me he jactado ante él de parte de vosotros, no he sido defraudado. Pero así como os hemos hablado de todas las cosas con verdad, también nuestra jactancia, que hice ante Tito, fue hallada verdadera.

For if in anything I have boasted to him on your behalf, I was not disappointed. But as we spoke all things to you in truth, so our glorying also which I made before Titus was found to be truth.

15 Su afecto es más abundante hacia vosotros, mientras se acuerda de toda vuestra obediencia, de cómo con temor y temblor le recibisteis.

His affection is more abundantly toward you, while he remembers all of your obedience, how with fear and trembling you received him.

16 Me alegro de que en todo tenga confianza en vosotros.

I rejoice that in everything I am of good courage concerning you.
