Ezequiel 38

1 Me fue dirigida la palabra de Yahvé en estos términos:

And the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:

2 “Hijo de hombre, dirige tu rostro contra Gog, la tierra de Magog, príncipe de Rosch, Mósoc y Tubal; y profetiza contra él.

Son of man Set thy face against Gog of the land of the Magog, Prince of Rosh Meshech and Tubal, - And prophesy concerning him,

3 Dirás: Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: Heme aquí contra ti, oh Gog, príncipe de Rosch, Mósoc y Tubal.

and thou shalt say, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, — Behold me! against thee O Gog, Prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal;

4 Yo te haré dar vueltas y pondré garfios en tus quijadas; te sacaré fuera, juntamente con tu ejército, caballos y jinetes, todos magníficamente armados, un gentío inmenso, que llevan paveses y escudos y todos manejan la espada.

Therefore I will turn thee about, and will put hooks in thy jaws, —and bring thee forth and all thine army. Horses and horsemen Clothed with gorgeous attire, all of them, A mighty gathered host With shield and buckler handling swords, all of them:

5 Persas, etíopes y libios estarán con ellos, todos con escudos y yelmos.

Persia Ethiopia and Libya with them, All of them, with shield and helmet;

6 Gómer y todas sus tropas, la casa de Togormá, (y los) de las partes extremas del norte, con todas su tropas, muchos pueblos serán tus aliados.

Gomer and all her hordes, The house of Togarmah the remote men of the North and all his hordes, Many peoples with thee.

7 ¡Aparéjate y prepárate, tú y todo tu gentío, reunido en derredor de ti; sé tú su jefe!

Be ready, and show thyself ready, Thou and all thy gathered host who have gathered themselves unto thee, — And become thou for me a guard.

8 Al cabo de muchos días recibirás el mando, y en los años postreros marcharás contra una nación salvada de la espada, recogida de entre muchos pueblos sobre las montañas de Israel, desoladas por muchísimo tiempo; (una nación) sacada de entre los pueblos y que habita toda entera en paz.

After many days, shalt thou muster thy forces, In the afterpart of the years, shalt thou enter Into the land of the remnant brought back from the sword Gathered from among many peoples, Upon the mountains of Israel which have been waste continually, — But the same! from among the peoples, hath been brought forth, And they shall dwell in security, all of them.

9 Te levantarás cual huracán y vendrás como nube para cubrir todo el país, tú y todas tus tropas y muchos pueblos contigo.

Then shalt thou come up, Like a storm, shalt thou enter, Like a cloud covering the land, shalt thou be, — Thou and all thy hordes, and many peoples with thee.

10 Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: En aquel día trazarás planes en tu corazón y maquinarás un designio perverso.

Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh, — So shall it be in that day, that thoughts will come up on thy heart.- And thou wilt devise a wicked device;

11 Te dirás: Subiré contra una tierra indefensa, iré contra gentes tranquilas que viven en paz y que habitan todas sin muros, y sin tener cerrojos ni puertas,

and wilt say— I will go up over a land of hamlets, I will enter among them who are at rest dwelling securely, — All of them, dwelling without a wall, Who bars and doors, have none;

12 para depredar y saquear, para extender tu mano contra ruinas que recién han sido habitadas, y contra un pueblo recogido de entre las naciones, que se ha adquirido ganados y bienes y habita en el centro de la tierra.

To capture spoil. And take prey, - To bring back thy hand over desolate places at length inhabited And against a people gathered from among the nations, Getting herds and substance Dwelling upon the navel of the earth.

13 Sabá y Dedán y los comerciantes de Tarsis, y todos los leoncillos, te dirán: «¿Vienes acaso a depredar? ¿No reuniste tu gentío para tomar botín, para robar plata y oro, para tomar ganados y bienes, para llevarte grandes despojos?»

Sheba and Dedan and the traders of Tarshish and all her young lions, will say to thee, To capture spoil, art thou coming? And to take prey, hast thou called together thy gathered host? To carry off silver and gold To take away herds and substance, To capture great spoil?

14 Por eso, profetiza, hijo de hombre, y di a Gog: Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: En aquel día, cuando Israel mi pueblo habite en paz, tú lo sabrás;

Therefore prophesy, Son of man, and thou shalt say to Gog. Thus saith My Lord, Yahweh: Shall it not be in that day, because my people Israel are dwelling securely: , that thou wilt rouse thyself?

15 y vendrás de tu lugar, desde las partes más remotas del norte, tú y mucha gente contigo, todos a caballo, una gran muchedumbre y un ejército inmenso.

Therefore wilt thou come out of thy place. Out of the remote parts of the North, Thou and many peoples with thee, —Riding on horses all of them, A mighty gathered host. Yea a great army;

16 Y subirás contra Israel, mi pueblo, como una nube que cubre la tierra. Esto será en los últimos días, y seré Yo quien te conduciré contra mi tierra, para que las naciones me conozcan cuando Yo manifieste mi santidad en ti, oh Gog, viéndolo ellos.

Therefore wilt thou come up, against my people Israel, like a cloud covering the land, — In the afterpart of the days, shall it be. that I will suffer thee to enter upon my land, To the end the nations may know me, when I hallow myself in thee before their eyes O Gog!

17 Así dice Yahvé, el Señor: ¿No eres tú aquel de quien hablé en tiempos antiguos por boca de mis siervos los profetas de Israel, que en aquel tiempo hablaron proféticamente de los años en que Yo te traería contra ellos?

Thus, saith My Lord, Yahweh, Art thou, he of whom I spake in days aforetime by the hand of my servants the prophets of Israel, who kept on prophesying in those days for years, —That thou shouldest be suffered to come against them?

18 Aquel día, el día que invada Gog la tierra de Israel, dice Yahvé, el Señor, reventará mi ira y mi furor.

So then shall it come to pass in that day, In the day when Gog entereth upon the soil of Israel, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, That mine indignation shall come up into my nostrils;

19 En mis celos y en el furor de mi ira declaro: En aquel día habrá un gran temblor en la tierra de Israel.

Yea, in my jealousy, in the fire of mine outburst, have I spoken, - Surely in that day, shall there be a great trembling upon the soil of Israel:

20 Temblarán ante Mí los peces del mar, las aves del cielo, las bestias del campo, todos los reptiles que se arrastran sobre el suelo y todo hombre que vive sobre la faz de la tierra; y serán derribados los montes, se desmoronarán los peñascos y todos los muros se vendrán al suelo.

Then shall tremble before me The fishes of the sea, and The bird of the heavens and The wild beast of the field, and Every creeping thing that creepeth on the ground, and All the men who are on the face of the ground, — and The mountains, shall be torn asunder, and The steep places, shall sink down, and, Every wall, to the earth, shall be thrown.

21 Llamaré contra él la espada por todos mis montes, dice Yahvé, el Señor, y cada uno dirigirá la espada contra su hermano.

Then will I call against him, every terror, Declareth My Lord Yahweh, the sword of every man against his brother, shall be;

22 Le juzgaré con peste y sangre, y lloveré aguas de inundación, pedrisco, fuego y azufre sobre él, sobre sus huestes y sobre los numerosos pueblos que le acompañan.

Then will I contend with him by pestilence and by blood, - And an overflowing downpour and hail-stones fire and brimstone, will I rain Upon him, and Upon his hordes, and Upon the many peoples who are with him.

23 Así manifestaré mi gloria y mi santidad, y me daré a conocer a los ojos de muchas naciones; y sabrán que Yo soy Yahvé.

So will I Magnify myself and Hallow myself, and Make myself known. Before the eyes of many nations, —And they shall know that I, am Yahweh.
