Первое послание к Фессалоникийцам 5
1 А о летех и о временех, братие, не требе есть вам писати,
Now concerning the times and seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
2 сами бо вы известно весте, яко день Господень, якоже тать в нощи, тако приидет.
For you yourselves know perfectly well that the day of the Lord is coming like a thief in the night.
3 Егда бо рекут: мир и утверждение, тогда внезапу нападет на них всегубительство, якоже болезнь во чреве имущей, и не имут избежати.
When they say, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them. It will be like birth pains in a pregnant woman. They will in no way escape.
4 Вы же, братие, несте во тме, да день вас якоже тать постигнет:
But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that the day would overtake you like a thief.
5 вси бо вы сынове света есте: и сынове дне: несмы нощи, ниже тьмы.
For you are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We are not sons of the night or the darkness.
6 Темже убо да не спим, якоже и прочии, но да бодрствуим и трезвимся.
So then, let us not sleep as the rest do. Instead, let us keep watch and be sober.
7 Спящии бо, в нощи спят, и упивающиися в нощи упиваются.
For those who sleep do so at night, and those who get drunk do so at night.
8 Мы же, сынове суще дне, да трезвимся, оболкшеся в броню веры и любве и шлем упования спасения,
But since we belong to the day, we must stay sober and put on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation for our helmet.
9 яко не положи нас Бог в гнев, но в получение спасения Господем нашим Иисус Христом,
For God did not appoint us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.
10 умершим за нас, да, аще бдим, аще ли спим, купно с Ним живем.
It is he who died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him.
11 Сего ради утешайте друг друга, и созидайте кийждо ближняго, якоже и творите.
Therefore comfort one another and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
12 Молим же вы, братие, знайте труждающихся у вас, и настоятелей ваших о Господе, и наказующих вы,
We ask you, brothers, to acknowledge those who labor among you and who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you.
13 и имейте их по преизлиха в любви за дело их: мирствуйте в себе.
We also ask you to regard them highly in love because of their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
14 Молим же вы, братие, вразумляйте безчинныя, утешайте малодушныя, заступайте немощныя, долготерпите ко всем.
We exhort you, brothers: Warn the disorderly, encourage the discouraged, help the weak, and be patient toward all.
15 Блюдите, да никтоже зла за зло кому воздаст: но всегда доброе гоните и друг ко другу и ко всем.
See that no one pays back evil for evil to anyone. Instead, pursue what is good for one another and for all.
16 Всегда радуйтеся.
Rejoice always.
17 Непрестанно молитеся.
Pray without ceasing.
18 О всем благодарите: сия бо есть воля Божия о Христе Иисусе в вас.
In everything give thanks. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
19 Духа не угашайте.
Do not quench the Spirit.
20 Пророчествия не уничижайте.
Do not despise prophecies.
21 Вся же искушающе, добрая держите.
Test all things. Hold on to what is good.
22 От всякия вещи злыя огребайтеся.
Avoid every appearance of evil.
23 Сам же Бог мира да освятит вас всесовершенных во всем: и всесовершен ваш дух и душа и тело непорочно в пришествие Господа нашего Иисуса Христа да сохранится.
May the God of peace make you completely holy. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved without blame for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24 Верен Призвавый вас, Иже и сотворит.
Faithful is he who calls you, the one who will also do it.
25 Братие, молитеся о нас.
Brothers, pray also for us.
26 Целуйте братию всю лобзанием святым.
Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
27 Заклинаю вы Господем, прочести послание сие пред всею святою братиею.
I solemnly charge you by the Lord to have this letter read to all the brothers.
28 Благодать Господа нашего Иисуса Христа с вами. Аминь.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
