1 Nije li èovjek na vojsci na zemlji? a dani njegovi nijesu li kao dani nadnièarski?

8 Niti æe me vidjeti oko koje me je viðalo; i tvoje oèi kad pogledaju na me, mene neæe biti.

10 Neæe se više vratiti kuæi svojoj, niti æe ga više poznati mjesto njegovo.
nether schal turne ayen more in to his hows, and his place schal no more knowe hym.
11 Zato ja neæu braniti ustima svojim, govoriæu u tuzi duha svojega, naricati u jadu duše svoje.
Wherfor and Y schal not spare my mouth; Y schal speke in the tribulacioun of my spirit, Y schal talke togidere with the bitternesse of my soule.
12 Eda li sam more ili kit, te si namjestio stražu oko mene?

13 Kad reèem: potješiæe me odar moj, postelja æe mi moja oblakšati tužnjavu,

14 Tada me strašiš snima i prepadaš me utvarama,

16 Dodijalo mi je; neæu dovijeka živjeti; proði me se; jer su dani moji taština.

17 Šta je èovjek da ga mnogo cijeniš i da mariš za nj?
What is a man, for thou `magnifiest hym? ether what settist thou thin herte toward hym?
18 Da ga pohodiš svako jutro, i svaki èas kušaš ga?
Thou visitist hym eerly, and sudeynli thou preuest hym.
19 Kad æeš se odvratiti od mene i pustiti me da progutam pljuvanku svoju?
Hou long sparist thou not me, nether suffrist me, that Y swolowe my spotele?
20 Zgriješio sam; šta æu ti èiniti, o èuvaru ljudski? zašto si me metnuo sebi za biljegu, te sam sebi na tegobu?
Y haue synned; A! thou kepere of men, what schal Y do to thee? Whi hast thou set me contrarie to thee, and Y am maad greuouse to my silf?
21 Zašto mi ne oprostiš grijeh moj i ne ukloniš moje bezakonje? jer æu sad leæi u prah, i kad me potražiš, mene neæe biti.
Whi doist thou not awei my sinne, and whi takist thou not awei my wickidnesse? Lo! now Y schal slepe in dust, and if thou sekist me eerli, Y schal not abide.
