< Yohanis 11 >

1 Hambu atahori esa, naran Lasarus. Ana leo sia kambo Betania, naꞌabꞌue no aꞌa nara inaꞌ rua, naeni Maria no Marta. (Maria ia, mana naꞌandandaliꞌ mina maꞌameniꞌ neu Yesus ein, de ose nendiꞌ langga fulun.) Lao esa, Lasarus mera naeꞌ.
NOW there was a sick man, Lazarus, of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
2
(It was the Mary who had anointed the Lord with the balm, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
3 Boe ma aꞌa inaꞌ nara fee haraꞌ neu Yesus rae, “Papa nonoon, Lasarus, namahedꞌi naeꞌ.”
The sisters therefore sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
4 Leleꞌ Yesus rena haraꞌ naa, ma Ana olaꞌ nae, “Hedꞌis ia nda tao e mate sa. Lamatualain nae natudꞌu manaselin nendiꞌ dalaꞌ ia. Naa fo atahori ra soꞌu rananaru Au, naeni Lamatualain Anan.”
When Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not for death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.
Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
6 Leleꞌ Ana rena oi, Lasarus namahedꞌi, Ana feꞌe leo fai rua fai sia loe Yarden bobꞌoan.
Then, though he heard he was ill, yet notwithstanding he abode in the same place where he was two days.
But after that he saith to his disciples, Let us go again into Judea.
8 Te Ana mana tungga nara rasapaa rae, “Papa Meser. Feꞌe lai-laiꞌ ia, atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara rae mbia risa Lamatuaꞌ mia naa. De ia na Lamatuaꞌ mae baliꞌ naa miu fai, do?”
The disciples say unto him, Rabbi, the Jews have just now sought to stone thee; and art thou going thither again?
9 Boe ma Yesus nataa nae, “Afiꞌ mimitau e! Fais-fais na, relo a naronda mia fefetun losa bobꞌoꞌ. Naa hambu jam sanahulu rua, to? Mete ma laoꞌ sia manggareloꞌ a, na atahori nda raꞌatunu sa. Huu manggareloꞌ a naronda sia raefafoꞌ ia, fo atahori mete rita.
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he doth not stumble, because he seeth the light of this world.
But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light with him.
11 Yesus olaꞌ basa taꞌo naa, ma Ana nafadꞌe nae, “Hita nonoon Lasarus sungguꞌ ena. Te dei fo Au ufefela baliꞌ e.”
These things said he: and after that he saith to them, Our friend Lazarus is asleep; but I go to waken him up.
12 Boe ma Eni ana mana tungga nara rae, “Papa. Mete ma ana sungguꞌ a, na eni sosoan, dei fo ana malole baliꞌ, to?”
Then said his disciples, Lord, if he is asleep, he will recover.
13 Ara olaꞌ taꞌo naa, huu ara duꞌa rae Yesus olaꞌ soꞌal sungguꞌ biasa a. Tao-tao te, Ana olaꞌ soꞌal Lasarus mamaten.
Now Jesus had spoken of his death: but they apprehended that he spake of taking rest in sleep.
14 Basa ma, Yesus nafadꞌe relo-relo nae, “Taꞌo ia. Lasarus mate ena.
Then Jesus therefore told them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
15 Au umuhoꞌo Au nda sia naa sa, leleꞌ ana nda feꞌe mate sa, naa fo hei afiꞌ susa. Huu saa nae dadꞌi leleꞌ ia, tao nggi bisa mimihere Au. Ima fo ata teu sia naa leo!”
And I rejoice on your account that I was not there, in order that ye may believe; but let us go to him.
16 Basa ma Tomas, fo ara ingga rae, “ana duaꞌ ra,” nafadꞌe ana mana tungga laen ra nae, “Ima leo! Malole lenaꞌ basa nggita tungga teu, fo hela ata mate taꞌabꞌue to E.”
Then said Thomas, (called Didymus, the twin, ) to his fellow-disciples, Let us go too, that we may die with him.
Kamboꞌ naa, doon akaꞌ kilo teluꞌ a mia kota Yerusalem. Atahori Yahudi hetar rema mia naa de bebeꞌek ma tao manggatetee Marta no Maria ralan. Leleꞌ Yesus se losa naa, dei de ara feꞌe bubꞌuluꞌ rae, atahori raꞌoi hendi Lasarus fai haa ena.
Then Jesus, when he came; found that he had already lain in the tomb four days.
Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
and many of the Jews had come with the women who were about Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Basa de, leleꞌ Marta rena oi, Yesus nema ena, ma ana dea neu nandaa no Yesus. Te Maria neuꞌ a ume rala.
Then Martha, when she heard that Jesus was coming, met him: but Mary sat in the house.
21 De Marta nafadꞌe Yesus nae, “Aduu, Papa, e! Onaꞌ Papa sia ia, na tantu odi ngga nda mate sa.
And Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
22 Te au umuhere boe, Papa nau noꞌe saa mbali Lamatualain, tantu Papa hambu.”
But even now I know, that whatsoever things thou shalt ask of God, God will give thee.
Jesus saith to her, Thy brother shall rise again.
24 Marta nataa nae, “Au uhine, dei fo sia fai mateteꞌen, mete ma Lamatualain tao basa atahori mana mateꞌ ra rasodꞌa baliꞌ, na Ana tao nasodꞌa baliꞌ au odi ngga boe.”
Martha saith to him, I know that he shall rise at the resurrection in the last day.
25 Boe ma Yesus nafadꞌe nae, “Au mana tao atahori mana mateꞌ ra rasodꞌa baliꞌ. Au o mana fee masodꞌa ndoo-tetuꞌ a boe. Dadꞌiꞌ atahori mana ramahere neu Au dei fo hambu masodꞌaꞌ naa, mae ana mate.
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
26 Boe ma atahori mana hambu masodꞌaꞌ ndoo-tetuꞌ naa, ma ramahere Au, dei fo rasodꞌa rakandoo. Marta, mumuhere Au oꞌola ngga, to?” (aiōn g165)
and every one who is alive, and believeth in me, shall never die to eternity. Believest thou this? (aiōn g165)
27 Ana nataa nae, “Iya, Papa! Au umuhere ae, Papa ia, naeni Kristus, Atahori fo Lamatualain dudꞌu memaꞌ mia fai maꞌahulun ena. Papa ia, Lamatualain Anan, Ana helu basa nae haitua nema sia raefafoꞌ ia.”
She saith to him, Yes, Lord I believe that thou art the Messiah, the Son of God, who cometh into the world.
Ana nae nandaa no nggo.”
So when she had thus spoken, she went away, and called her sister Mary privately, saying, The Master is near at hand, and calleth for thee.
29 Rena taꞌo naa ma, Maria fela neuꞌ ena de neu sangga Yesus. Atahori Yahudi mana beꞌe nanea no Maria sia ume rala, nita e fela de nelaꞌ dea neu. Ana feꞌe sia mamanaꞌ fo Marta nandaa no E.
As soon as she heard it, she rose hastily, and came to him.
Now Jesus was not yet come into the village, but was on the spot where Martha had met him.
Then the Jews who were with her in the house, and comforting her, observing Mary, that she rose up hastily, and went out, followed her, saying, She is going to the tomb, to weep there.
32 Leleꞌ Maria losa mamanaꞌ naa, ma nita Yesus. De ana sendeꞌ lululanggan sia Yesus ein. De nafadꞌe nae, “Aduu, Papa, e! Onaꞌ Papa sia ia naa, tantu odi ngga nda mate sa.”
When therefore Mary was come where Jesus was, beholding him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother would not have died!
When Jesus then saw her weeping, and all the Jews who came with her lamenting, he groaned in spirit, and was himself greatly agitated:
34 Ana natane nae, “Hei miꞌoi e sia bee?” Ara rataa rae, “Uma, Papa! Uma fo mete neuꞌ ena.”
and he said, Where have ye laid him? They say to him, Lord, come and see.
35 Boe ma Yesus nggae.
Jesus wept.
36 Basa ma atahori Yahudi ra ola-olaꞌ rae, “Mete neuꞌ ena. Ana sue naseliꞌ Lasarus!”
Then said the Jews, Behold, how he loved him!
37 Te hambu ruma fai ola-olaꞌ rae, “Atahori ia, mana naꞌahahaiꞌ atahori pokeꞌ a matan, de nita baliꞌ, Taꞌo bee de Ana nda bisa babꞌaa nala Lasarus fo Ana nda mate sa?”
But some of them said, Could not this man, who openeth the eyes of the blind, have caused that this person should not have died?
38 Yesus ralan namedꞌa beran seli. Ara tatana luat a rendiꞌ fatu monaeꞌ sa.
Then Jesus again groaning in himself, cometh to the sepulchre. It was an excavation, and a stone lay upon it.
39 De Yesus denu atahori mana sia naa ra nae, “Oꞌo hendi fatu ia, fo soi hendi luat ia lelesun dei!” Te Marta, naeni atahori mana mateꞌ a aꞌan nae, “Aweꞌ, Papa! Ana mate fai haa ena, na! Tantu maꞌafoo ena.”
Jesus saith, Remove the stone. The sister of the deceased, Martha, said to him, Lord, he is by this time putrid: for he hath been dead four days.
40 Boe ma Yesus fee ne nesenenedꞌaꞌ nae, “Musunedꞌa faꞌ ra, to? Au ufadꞌe memaꞌ ae, mete ma Marta tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ mumuhere Au, dei fo bisa mita Lamatualain manaselin.”
Jesus saith unto her, Did I not tell thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shalt see the glory of God?
41 Basa ma hambu atahori hira soi fatu a mia luat a. Boe ma Yesus mbali lalai a, ma Ana nae, “Amaꞌ! Au oꞌe makasi, huu Amaꞌ rena Au.
Then they removed the stone where the deceased was lying. And Jesus lifted his eyes upwards, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me!
42 Au bubꞌuluꞌ eniꞌ a mia dalahulun ae, Amaꞌ rena Au mukundooꞌ a. Te Au olaꞌ onaꞌ naa leleꞌ ia, naa fo atahori mana rambariiꞌ sia ia ra bubꞌuluꞌ rae, Amaꞌ mana denu Au.”
And I knew that thou always dost hear me: but for the sake of the multitude standing by I spake, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
And when he had thus spoken, with a loud voice he cried, Lazarus, come forth!
44 Boe ma atahori mana mateꞌ naa dea nema mia luat a. Hambu teme mamates nenembotiꞌ nala ei-lima nara.
And the deceased came forth, his feet and his hands wrapped with the linen swathes; and his face bound round with a napkin. Jesus saith to them, Loose him, and let him go!
45 Leleꞌ ara rita Yesus tataon naa ma, atahori Yahudi mana rema beꞌe ro Maria ra, ramahere Yesus.
Then many of the Jews who came to Mary, and saw what Jesus had done, believed on him.
But some of them went to the Pharisees, and told them what things Jesus had done.
47 Basa naa ma, malangga agama ra malangga nara, ro atahori Farisi ra raꞌabꞌue de ara ola-olaꞌ sangga dalaꞌ. Ara ratatane rae, “Atahori naa, tao manadadꞌi-manaseliꞌ mataꞌ-mataꞌ! Dadꞌi hita musi tao taꞌo bee fai?
The chief priests and Pharisees therefore called the sanhedrim together, and said, What are we about? for this man is doing many miracles.
48 Huu mete ma hita hela E neuꞌ ena, na, dei fo basa atahori ramahena neu E onaꞌ sira manen. No taꞌo naa, soldꞌadꞌu mana parenda Roma ra dei fo rema tao ralutu hita Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ na no hita atahori nara.”
If we suffer him to go on thus, all men will believe on him: and the Romans will come, and take away both our place and nation.
49 Tooꞌ naa, Kayafas dadꞌi malangga agama ra malangga monaen. Ana olaꞌ nae, “Nggoaꞌ e! Hei nda mihine saa-saa sa boe!
Then one particular person of them, Caiaphas, being the high-priest of that year, said unto them, Ye know nothing,
nor consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation be not destroyed.
Lamatualain pake bafan, huu eni dadꞌi malangga agama ra malangga monaen sia tooꞌ naa. Naa de Kayafas nafadꞌe memaꞌ nae, dei fo Yesus mate soaꞌ neu basa atahori Yahudi ra.
And this he spake not from himself: but being the high-priest of that year, he prophesied that Jesus should die for the nation;
52 Tao-tao te, Ana nda mate soaꞌ neu akaꞌ atahori Yahudi ra sa, te soaꞌ neu basa Lamatualain ana nara mana sea-saranggaa sia raefafoꞌ ia. Dei fo Ana tao basa se dadꞌi nusaꞌ esa isi.
and not for that nation only, but that he should collect into one body the children of God wherever dispersed.
53 Huu Kayafas oꞌolan naa, naeni de, eniꞌ a mia leleꞌ naa, atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara sangga dalaꞌ rae tao risa Yesus.
Then from that day they consulted together how they might kill him.
54 Dadꞌi Yesus nda laoꞌ relo-relo sia atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara taladꞌan nara sa ena. Ana no ana mana tungga nara lao risiꞌ kota esa, naran Efraim, mana deka-deka sia mamana rouꞌ.
Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews, but went thence into the country bordering on the desert, to a city called Ephraim, and there he abode with his disciples.
55 Leleꞌ naa, fai Paska agama Yahudi ra deka-deka ena. Biasa na, atahori hetar mia deaꞌ rema raꞌabꞌue sia kota Yerusalem fo tungga fefeta Paska sia naa. Ara losa raꞌahuluꞌ, fo tao rameu ao nara tungga agama hohoro-lalanen.
Now the passover of the Jews was near, and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the passover, in order to purify themselves.
56 Atahori hetar mana rema sia Yerusalem, sangga Yesus sia naa. Leleꞌ ara rambariiꞌ sia Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ a sodꞌan, ara ratatane rae, “Tungga hei naa, taꞌo bee? Hei duꞌa na Yesus nae nema tungga fefeta agama, do hokoꞌ?”
Then they sought for Jesus, and said one to another, as they stood in the temple, What think ye, that he will not come to the feast?
Tao-tao te, ara raꞌena masud rae humu E.
Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given commandment, that, if any person knew where he was, they should declare it, that they might apprehend him.
