Provérbios 28
1 Fogem os impios, sem que ninguem os persiga; mas qualquer justo está confiado como o filho do leão.
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
2 Pela transgressão da terra são muitos os seus principes, mas por homens prudentes e entendidos a sua continuação será prolongada.
For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by men of understanding [and] knowledge the state [thereof] shall be prolonged.
3 O homem pobre que opprime aos pobres é como chuva impetuosa, com que ha falta de pão.
A needy man that oppresseth the poor is [like] a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
4 Os que deixam a lei louvam o impio; porém os que guardam a lei pelejam contra elles.
They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Os homens maus não entendem o juizo, mas os que buscam ao Senhor entendem tudo.
Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 Melhor é o pobre que anda na sua sinceridade do que o perverso de caminhos, ainda que seja rico.
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in [his] ways, though he be rich.
7 O que guarda a lei é filho entendido, mas o companheiro dos comilões envergonha a seu pae.
Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
8 O que augmenta a sua fazenda com usura e onzena, o ajunta para o que se compadece do pobre.
He that augmenteth his substance by usury and increase, gathereth it for him that hath pity on the poor.
9 O que desvia os seus ouvidos d'ouvir a lei até a sua oração será abominavel.
He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.
10 O que faz com que os rectos errem n'um mau caminho elle mesmo cairá na sua cova: mas os bons herdarão o bem.
Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the perfect shall inherit good.
11 O homem rico é sabio aos seus proprios olhos, mas o pobre que é entendido o esquadrinha.
The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
12 Quando os justos exultam, grande é a gloria; mas quando os impios sobem, os homens se andam escondendo.
When the righteous triumph, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, men hide themselves.
13 O que encobre as suas transgressões nunca prosperará, mas o que as confessa e deixa alcançará misericordia.
He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall obtain mercy.
14 Bemaventurado o homem que continuamente teme: mas o que endurece o seu coração virá a cair no mal.
Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
15 Como leão bramante, e urso faminto, assim é o impio que domina sobre um povo pobre.
[As] a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; [so is] a wicked ruler over a poor people.
16 O principe falto d'intelligencia tambem multiplica as oppressões, mas o que aborrece a avareza prolongará os seus dias.
The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor: [but] he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 O homem carregado do sangue de qualquer pessoa fugirá até á cova: ninguem o retenha.
A man that is laden with the blood of any person shall flee unto the pit; let no man stay him.
18 O que anda sinceramente salvar-se-ha, mas o perverso em seus caminhos cairá logo.
Whoso walketh uprightly shall be delivered: but he that is perverse in [his] ways shall fall at once.
19 O que lavrar a sua terra virá a fartar-se de pão, mas o que segue a ociosos se fartará de pobreza.
He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain [persons] shall have poverty enough.
20 O homem fiel abundará em bençãos, mas o que se apressa a enriquecer não será innocente.
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be unpunished.
21 Ter respeito á apparencia de pessoas não é bom, porque até por um bocado de pão prevaricará o homem
To have respect of persons is not good: neither that a man should transgress for a piece of bread.
22 O que se apressa a enriquecer é homem de mau olho, porém não sabe que ha de vir sobre elle a pobreza.
He that hath an evil eye hasteth after riches, and knoweth not that want shall come upon him.
23 O que reprehende ao homem depois achará mais favor do que aquelle que lisongeia com a lingua.
He that rebuketh a man shall afterward find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
24 O que rouba a seu pae, ou a sua mãe, e diz: Não ha transgressão; companheiro é do homem dissipador.
Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
25 O altivo d'animo levanta contendas, mas o que confia no Senhor engordará.
He that is of a greedy spirit stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 O que confia no seu coração é insensato, mas o que anda em sabedoria elle escapará.
He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
27 O que dá ao pobre não terá necessidade, mas o que esconde os seus olhos terá muitas maldições.
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
28 Quando os impios se elevam, os homens se andam escondendo, mas quando perecem, os justos se multiplicam.
When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
