Mateus 11
1 E, aconteceu que, acabando Jesus de dar seus preceitos aos seus doze discipulos, partiu d'ali a ensinar e a prégar nas cidades d'elles.
And it happened that when Yeshua had finished instructing his twelve disciples, he departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2 E João, ouvindo, no carcere, fallar dos feitos de Christo, enviou dois dos seus discipulos,
Now when Yukhanan heard in prison the works of the Meshikha, he sent his disciples
3 Dizendo-lhe: És tu aquelle que havia de vir, ou esperamos outro?
and said to him, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?"
4 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhes: Ide, e annunciae a João as coisas que ouvis e vêdes:
And Yeshua answered them, "Go and tell Yukhanan the things which you hear and see:
5 Os cegos vêem, e os coxos andam; os leprosos são purificados, e os surdos ouvem; os mortos são resuscitados, e o evangelho é annunciado aos pobres.
the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have good news preached to them.
6 E bemaventurado é aquelle que se não escandalizar em mim.
And blessed is he who is not offended by me."
7 E, partindo elles, começou Jesus a dizer ás turbas, a respeito de João: Que fostes vêr no deserto? uma canna agitada pelo vento?
And as these went their way, Yeshua began to say to the crowds concerning Yukhanan, "What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?
8 Ou que fostes vêr? um homem ricamente vestido? Os que trajam ricamente estão nas casas dos reis.
But what did you go out to see? A man in soft clothing? Look, those who wear soft things are in kings' houses.
9 Ou então que fostes vêr? um propheta? sim, vos digo eu, e muito mais do que propheta:
But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and much more than a prophet.
10 Porque é este de quem está escripto: Eis que adiante da tua face envio o meu anjo, que preparará adiante de ti o teu caminho.
This is the one of whom it is written, 'Look, I send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.'
11 Em verdade vos digo que, entre os que de mulheres teem nascido, não appareceu alguem maior do que João Baptista; mas aquelle que é o menor no reino dos céus é maior do que elle
Truly I tell you, among those who are born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than Yukhanan the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12 E, desde os dias de João Baptista até agora, se faz violencia ao reino dos céus, e os violentos se apoderam d'elle.
And from the days of Yukhanan the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent are taking it by force.
13 Porque todos os prophetas e a lei prophetizaram até João.
For all the prophets and the law prophesied until Yukhanan.
14 E, se quereis dar credito, é este o Elias que havia de vir.
And if you are willing to receive it, this is Eliya, who is to come.
15 Quem tem ouvidos para ouvir oiça.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear.
16 Mas, a quem assimilharei esta geração? É similhante aos meninos que se assentam nas praças, e clamam aos seus companheiros,
"But to what should I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces, who call to their companions
17 E dizem: Tocámos-vos flauta, e não dançastes: cantámos-vos lamentações, e não chorastes.
and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance. We wailed in mourning, and you did not mourn.'
18 Pois veiu João, não comendo nem bebendo, e dizem: Tem demonio.
For Yukhanan came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon.'
19 Veiu o Filho do homem, comendo e bebendo, e dizem: Eis ahi um homem comilão e beberrão, amigo de publicanos e peccadores. Mas a sabedoria é justificada por seus filhos.
The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Look, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.' But wisdom is justified by her children."
20 Então começou elle a lançar em rosto ás cidades onde se operou a maior parte dos seus prodigios o não se haverem arrependido, dizendo:
Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they did not repent.
21 Ai de ti, Corazin! ai de ti, Bethsaida! porque, se em Tyro e em Sidon fossem feitos os prodigios que em vós se fizeram, ha muito que se teriam arrependido, com sacco e com cinza.
"Woe to you, Korazin. Woe to you, Beth-Sayada. For if the mighty works had been done in Tsur and Tsaidan which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22 Porém eu vos digo que haverá menos rigor para Tyro e Sidon, no dia do juizo, do que para vós.
But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tsur and Tsaidan on the day of judgment than for you.
23 E tu, Capernaum, que te ergues até aos céus, serás abatida até aos infernos; porque, se entre os de Sodoma fossem feitos os prodigios que em ti se fizeram, teriam permanecido até hoje (Hadēs g86)
And you, Kepharnakhum, who are exalted to heaven, you will be brought down to Sheyul. For if the mighty works had been done in Sedum which were done in you, it would have remained until this day. (Hadēs g86)
24 Porém eu vos digo que haverá menos rigor para os de Sodoma, no dia do juizo, do que para ti.
But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sedum, on the day of judgment, than for you."
25 N'aquelle tempo, respondendo Jesus, disse: Graças te dou, ó Pae, Senhor do céu e da terra, que occultaste estas coisas aos sabios e intelligentes, e as revelaste aos meninos.
At that time, Yeshua answered, "I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and intelligent, and revealed them to little children.
26 Sim, ó Pae, porque assim te aprouve.
Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.
27 Todas as coisas me foram entregues por meu Pae: e ninguem conhece o Filho, senão o Pae; e ninguem conhece o Pae, senão o Filho, e aquelle a quem o Filho o quizer revelar.
All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son, and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him.
28 Vinde a mim, todos os que estaes cançados e opprimidos, e eu vos alliviarei.
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest.
29 Tomae sobre vós o meu jugo, e aprendei de mim, que sou manso e humilde de coração; e encontrareis descanço para as vossas almas.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls.
30 Porque o meu jugo é suave e o meu fardo é leve.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
