1 Coríntios 4

1 Que os homens nos considerem como ministros de Christo, e dispenseiros dos mysterios de Deus.

Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

2 Além d'isso requer-se nos dispenseiros que cada um se ache fiel.

Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.

3 Porém a mim mui pouco se me dá de ser julgado por vós, ou por algum juizo humano; nem eu tão pouco a mim mesmo me julgo.

But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self.

4 Porque em nada me sinto culpado; mas nem por isso estou justificado; pois quem me julga é o Senhor.

For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judges me is the Lord.

5 De sorte que nada julgueis antes de tempo, até que o Senhor venha, o qual tambem trará á luz as coisas occultas das trevas, e manifestará os designios dos corações; e então cada um receberá de Deus o louvor.

Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

6 E eu, irmãos, appliquei estas coisas, por similhança, a mim e a Apollos, por amor de vós; para que em nós aprendaes a não ir além do que está escripto, para que não vos ensoberbeçaes a favor de um contra outro.

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that all of you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.

7 Porque, quem te differença? E que tens tu que não tenhas recebido? E, se o recebeste, porque te glorias, como se não o houveras recebido?

For who makes you to differ from another? and what have you that you did not receive? now if you did receive it, why do you glory, as if you had not received it?

8 Já estaes fartos! já estaes ricos! sem nós reinaes! e oxalá reineis para que tambem nós reinemos comvosco!

Now all of you are full, now all of you are rich, all of you have reigned as kings without us: and I would to God all of you did reign, that we also might reign with you.

9 Porque tenho para mim, que Deus a nós, apostolos, nos designou ultimos, como condemnados á morte; pois somos feitos espectaculo ao mundo, aos anjos, e aos homens.

For I think that God has set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.

10 Nós somos loucos por amor de Christo, e vós sabios em Christo: nós fracos, e vós fortes: vós illustres, e nós vis.

We are fools for Christ's sake, but all of you are wise in Christ; we are weak, but all of you are strong; all of you are honourable, but we are despised.

11 Até esta presente hora soffremos fome, e sêde, e estamos nus, e recebemos bofetadas, e não temos pousada certa,

Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwelling place;

12 E trabalhamos obrando com nossas proprias mãos: somos injuriados, e bemdizemos: somos perseguidos, e soffremos:

And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

13 Somos blasphemados, e rogamos: até ao presente temos chegado a ser como o lixo d'este mundo, e como a escoria de todos.

Being defamed, we implore: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the waste of all things unto this day.

14 Não escrevo estas coisas para vos envergonhar; mas admoesto-vos como meus filhos amados.

I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.

15 Porque ainda que tivesseis dez mil aios em Christo não terieis comtudo muitos paes; porque eu pelo evangelho vos gerei em Jesus Christo.

For though all of you have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have all of you not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

16 Admoesto-vos portanto a que sejaes meus imitadores.

Wherefore I plead to you, be all of you followers of me.

17 Por esta causa vos mandei Timotheo, que é meu filho amado, e fiel no Senhor: o qual vos lembrará os meus caminhos em Christo, como por todas as partes ensino em cada egreja.

For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

18 Mas alguns andam inchados, como se eu não houvesse de ir ter comvosco.

Now some are puffed up, as though I would not come to you.

19 Porém em breve irei ter comvosco, se o Senhor quizer, e então conhecerei, não as palavras dos que andam inchados, mas a virtude.

But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech (logos) of them which are puffed up, but the power.

20 Porque o reino de Deus não consiste em palavras, mas em virtude.

For the kingdom of God is not in word, (logos) but in power.

21 Que quereis? Irei ter comvosco com vara ou com amor e espirito de mansidão?

What will all of you? shall I come unto you with a rod, or in love, (agape) and in the spirit (pneuma) of meekness?
