Hioba 34
1 Nadto mówił Elihu, i rzekł:
Furthermore Elihu answered and said,
2 Słuchajcież, mądrzy! mów moich, a nauczeni posłuchajcie mię.
Hear my words, O all of you wise men; and give ear unto me, all of you that have knowledge.
3 Bo ucho słów doświadcza, jako podniebienie smakuje pokarmu.
For the ear tries words, as the mouth tastes food.
4 Obierzmy sobie sąd, a rozeznajmy między sobą, co jest dobrego.
Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
5 Ponieważ Ijob rzekł: Jestem sprawiedliwym, a Bóg odrzucił sprawę moję:
For Job has said, I am righteous: and God has taken away my judgment.
6 I mamże kłamać, mając sprawiedliwą? Bolesny jest postrzał mój bez przewinienia.
Should I lie against my right? my wound is incurable without transgression.
7 Któryż jest mąż taki, jako Ijob, coby pił pośmiewisko jako wodę?
What man is like Job, who drinks up scorning like water?
8 A coby chodził w towarzystwie czyniących nieprawość; i przestawałby z ludźmi niepobożnymi?
Which goes in company with the workers of iniquity, and walks with wicked men.
9 Bo powiedział: Nie pomoże człowiekowi, choćby się podobał Bogu.
For he has said, It profits a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.
10 Przetoż mię słuchajcie, mężowie rozumni! Niech będzie daleka niepobożność od Boga, i nieprawość od Wszechmocnego.
Therefore hearken unto me all of you men of understanding: far be it from God, that he should do wickedness; and from the Almighty, that he should commit iniquity.
11 Bo on według uczynku płaci człowiekowi, a według drogi jego każdemu nagradza.
For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to his ways.
12 A zgoła Bóg przewrotnie nie czyni, a Wszechmocny nie podwraca sądu.
Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.
13 Któż go przełożył nad ziemią? a kto wystawił cały okrąg świata?
Who has given him a charge over the earth? or who has disposed the whole world?
14 Jeźliby obrócił przeciwko niemu serce swoje, a ducha jego, i dech jego do siebie wziął:
If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath;
15 Zginęłoby wszelkie ciało społu, a człowiekby się do prochu nawrócił.
All flesh shall perish together, and man shall return unto dust.
16 Maszli tedy rozum, słuchaj tego, a przyjmuj w uszy swe głos mowy mojej.
If now you have understanding, hear this: hearken to the voice of my words.
17 Azaż ten, który ma w nienawiści sąd, panować może? azaż tego, który jest wielce sprawiedliwy, niepobożnym uczynisz?
Shall even he that hates right govern? and will you condemn him that is most just?
18 Zaż potępisz tego, który może rzec królowi: O bezecny! a książętom: O niepobożny!
Is it fit to say to a king, You are wicked? and to princes, All of you are ungodly?
19 Który nie ma względu na osoby książąt, i nie waży sobie więcej bogacza nad ubogiego; bo oni wszyscy są czynem rąk jego.
How much less to him that accepts not the persons of princes, nor regards the rich more than the poor? for they all are the work of his hands.
20 Nagle umierają; a o północy wzruszony bywa naród, i przemija, a mocarz zniesiony bywa bez ręki ludzkiej.
In a moment shall they die, and the people shall be troubled at midnight, and pass away: and the mighty shall be taken away without hand.
21 Oczy bowiem jego nad drogami człowieczemi, a on widzi wszystkie kroki jego.
For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he sees all his activities.
22 Niemasz ciemności, ani cienia śmierci, kędyby się skryli ci, którzy czynią nieprawość.
There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.
23 Bo na nikogo nie wkłada więcej, tak, żeby miał wchodzić w sąd z Bogiem.
For he will not lay upon man more than right; that he should enter into judgment with God.
24 Pociera bardzo wiele mocarzów, a inszych miasto nich wystawia.
He shall break in pieces mighty men without number, and set others in their position.
25 Przeto, iż zna sprawy ich, obraca im dzień w noc, aby byli potarci.
Therefore he knows their works, and he overturns them in the night, so that they are destroyed.
26 Poraża ich jako niepobożnych na miejscu jawnem.
He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;
27 Przeto, iż odstąpili od niego, a żadnych dróg jego zrozumieć nie chcieli:
Because they turned back from him, and would not consider any of his ways:
28 Aby przywiódł na nich wołanie znędzniałych, a pokazał, że wysłuchuje wołanie ubogich.
So that they cause the cry of the poor to come unto him, and he hears the cry of the afflicted.
29 Gdy on sprawi pokój, któż go wzruszy? także, gdy skryje oblicze, któż go ujrzy? A to czyni tak całemu narodowi, jako każdemu człowiekowi,
When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:
30 Aby dalej nie panował człowiek obłudny na upadek ludzki.
That the hypocrite reign not, lest the people be ensnared.
31 Zaprawdę miałbyś mówić do Boga: Przepuść; poniosę, a nie będę się wzbraniał.
Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:
32 Nadto jeźlibym czego nie baczył, ty mię naucz; jeźlim nieprawość popełnił, nie uczynię tego więcej.
That which I see not teach you me: if I have done iniquity, I will do no more.
33 Izali według zdania twego będziesz płacił, żeć się to nie podoba, a żeś ty owo obrał, a nie on? Ale wieszli co lepszego, powiedz.
Should it be according to your mind? he will recompense it, whether you refuse, or whether you choose; and not I: therefore speak what you know.
34 Mężowie rozumni toż rzeką ze mną, a człowiek mądry przypadnie na to,
Let men of understanding tell me, and let a wise man hearken unto me.
35 Że Ijob nie mówi mądrze, a słowa jego nie są roztropne.
Job has spoken without knowledge, and his words were without wisdom.
36 Boże, Ojcze mój! niech będzie Ijob doskonale doświadczony, przeto, iż nam odpowiada, jako ludziom złym.
My desire is that Job may be tried unto the end because of his answers for wicked men.
37 Bo przestępstwa przyczynia do grzechu swego; chlubi się między nami, i mówi bardzo wiele przeciwko Bogu.
For he adds rebellion unto his sin, he claps his hands among us, and multiplies his words against God.
