مزامیر 40

۱ 1 برای سالار مغنیان. مزمور داود انتظار بسیار برای خداوند کشیده‌ام، وبه من مایل شده، فریاد مرا شنید.

To the Chief Musician. David’s. A Melody. I waited patiently for Yahweh, —And he inclined, unto me, and heard my cry for help;

۲ 2 و مرااز چاه هلاکت برآورد و از گل لجن و پایهایم را برصخره گذاشته، قدمهایم را مستحکم گردانید.

So he brought me up, Out of the destroying pit, Out of the swampy mire, —And set, upon a cliff, my feet, Making firm my steps:

۳ 3 وسرودی تازه در دهانم گذارد یعنی حمد خدای ما را. بسیاری چون این را بینند ترسان شده، برخداوند توکل خواهند کرد.

Then put he, into my mouth, a new song, Praise to our God, —Many shall see and revere, And shall trust in Yahweh.

۴ 4 خوشابحال کسی‌که بر خداوند توکل دارد و به متکبران ظالم ومرتدان دروغ مایل نشود.

How happy the man, Who hath made Yahweh his confidence, who hath not turned unto the haughty, nor gone aside unto falsehood.

۵ 5 ‌ای یهوه خدای ما چه بسیار است کارهای عجیب که تو کرده‌ای وتدبیرهایی که برای ما نموده‌ای. در نزد تو آنها راتقویم نتوان کرد، اگر آنها را تقریر و بیان بکنم، ازحد شمار زیاده است.

Mighty things, hast thou done—Thou, Yahweh my God, Thy wonderful doings and thy purposes towards us, There is no setting them in order unto thee—I would tell, and would speak!—They are too great to rehearse.

۶ 6 در قربانی و هدیه رغبت نداشتی. اما گوشهای مرا باز کردی. قربانی سوختنی و قربانی گناه را نخواستی.

Sacrifice and meal-offering, thou didst not delight in, Ears, didst thou pierce for me, —Ascending-sacrifice and sin-bearer, thou didst not ask:

۷ 7 آنگاه گفتم: «اینک می‌آیم! در طومار کتاب درباره من نوشته شده است.

Then, said I—Lo! I am come, In the written scroll, is it prescribed for me;

۸ 8 در بجا آوردن اراده تو‌ای خدای من رغبت می‌دارم و شریعت تو در اندرون دل من است.»

To do thy good-pleasure, O my God, is my delight, And, thy law, is in the midst of mine inward parts:

۹ 9 در جماعت بزرگ به عدالت بشارت داده‌ام. اینک لبهای خود را باز نخواهم داشت وتو‌ای خداوند می‌دانی.

I have told the good-tidings of righteousness in a great convocation, Lo! my lips, do I not restrain, O Yahweh, thou, knowest:

۱۰ 10 عدالت تو را در دل خود مخفی نداشته‌ام. امانت و نجات تو را بیان کرده‌ام. رحمت و راستی تو را از جماعت بزرگ پنهان نکرده‌ام.

Thy righteousness, have I not hid in the midst of my heart, Thy faithfulness and thy salvation, have I spoken, I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truthfulness from the great convocation.

۱۱ 11 پس تو‌ای خداوند لطف خودرا از من باز مدار. رحمت و راستی تو دائم مرامحافظت کند.

Thou, O Yahweh, wilt not restrain thy compassions from me, Thy lovingkindness and thy truthfulness, shall continually watch over me.

۱۲ 12 زیرا که بلایای بیشمار مرااحاطه می‌کند. گناهانم دور مرا گرفته است به حدی که نمی توانم دید. از مویهای سر من زیاده است و دل من مرا ترک کرده است.

For there have closed in upon me, misfortunes beyond number, Mine iniquities have overtaken me, and I cannot see, They have become more than the hairs of my head, And, my courage, hath forsaken me!

۱۳ 13 ‌ای خداوند مرحمت فرموده، مرا نجات بده. ای خداوند به اعانت من تعجیل فرما.

Be pleased, O Yahweh, to rescue me, O Yahweh! to help me, make haste!

۱۴ 14 آنانی که قصد هلاکت جان من دارند، جمیع خجل و شرمنده شوند. و آنانی که در بدی من رغبت دارند، به عقب برگردانیده و رسوا گردند.

Let them turn pale and then at once blush, who are seeking my life to snatch it away, —Let them draw back, and be confounded, who are taking pleasure in my calamity;

۱۵ 15 آنانی که بر من هه هه می‌گویند، به‌سبب خجالت خویش حیران شوند.

Let them be astonished on account of their own shame, who are saying of me, Aha! Aha!

۱۶ 16 و اما جمیع طالبان تو در تو وجد و شادی نمایند و آنانی که نجات تو را دوست دارند، دائم گویند که خداوند بزرگ است.

Let all them be glad and rejoice in thee, who are seekers of thee. Let them say continually—Yahweh be magnified! who are lovers of thy salvation.

۱۷ 17 و اما من مسکین و فقیرهستم و خداوند درباره من تفکر می‌کند. تو معاون و نجات‌دهنده من هستی. ای خدای من، تاخیرمفرما.

But, I, being oppressed and needy, May My Lord devise for me, —My help and my deliverer, thou art! O my God, do not tarry!
