۱ 1 ای خداوند چرا دور ایستاده‌ای و خودرا در وقت های تنگی پنهان می‌کنی؟

Wherefore, O Yahweh, shouldst thou stand afar off? [Wherefore] hide thyself, in times of destitution?

۲ 2 از تکبر شریران، فقیر سوخته می‌شود؛ درمشورت هایی که اندیشیده‌اند، گرفتار می‌شوند.

In the pride of the lawless one, he hotly pursueth the poor, let them be caught in the plots which they have devised!

۳ 3 زیرا که شریر به شهوات نفس خود فخر می‌کند، و آنکه می‌رباید شکر می‌گوید و خداوند را اهانت می‌کند.

For the lawless one hath boasted over the longing of his soul, and, the robber, hath blasphemed Yahweh.

۴ 4 شریر در غرور خود می‌گوید: «بازخواست نخواهد کرد.» همه فکرهای او اینست که خدایی نیست.

The lawless one, in the loftiness of his countenance, will not enquire, God is not in any of his plots:

۵ 5 راههای او همیشه استوار است. احکام تو از او بلند و بعید است. همه دشمنان خود را به هیچ می‌شمارد.

His ways are firm at all times, On high, are thy righteous regulations, out of his sight, As for all his adversaries, he puffeth at them:

۶ 6 در دل خود گفته است: «هرگزجنبش نخواهم خورد، و دور به دور بدی رانخواهم دید.»

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be shaken, —From generation to generation, shall I be in no misfortune.

۷ 7 دهن او از لعنت و مکر و ظلم پر است؛ زیرزبانش مشقت و گناه است؛

With cursing, his mouth is full, and with deceptions and oppression, Under his tongue, are trouble and mischief:

۸ 8 در کمینهای دهات می‌نشیند؛ در جایهای مخفی بی‌گناه را می‌کشد؛ چشمانش برای مسکینان مراقب است؛

He abideth in the lurking-place of villages, In the hiding-places, he murdereth the innocent, —His eyes, for the unfortunate, are on the watch:

۹ 9 در جای مخفی مثل شیر در بیشه خود کمین می‌کند؛ به جهت گرفتن مسکین کمین می‌کند؛ فقیر را به دام خود کشیده، گرفتار می‌سازد.

He lieth in wait in a hiding-place, like a lion in his covert, He lieth in wait to catch the humbled, He catcheth the humbled, by drawing him into his net:

۱۰ 10 پس کوفته وزبون می‌شود؛ و مساکین در زیر جباران اومی افتند.

He croucheth, he lieth down, then falleth he with his strong claws upon the unfortunate.

۱۱ 11 در دل خود گفت: «خدا فراموش کرده است؛ روی خود را پوشانیده و هرگزنخواهد دید.»

He hath said in his heart, GOD hath forgotten, —He hath veiled his face, Oh he hath never seen!

۱۲ 12 ‌ای خداوند برخیز! ای خدا دست خود رابرافراز! و مسکینان را فراموش مکن.

Arise! Yahweh! O GOD! raise thy hand, —Do not forget the patient!

۱۳ 13 چراشریر خدا را اهانت کرده، در دل خود می‌گوید: «تو بازخواست نخواهی کرد؟»

Wherefore hath the lawless one blasphemed God? He hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require [it]!

۱۴ 14 البته دیده‌ای زیرا که تو بر مشقت و غم می‌نگری، تا به‌دست خود مکافات برسانی. مسکین امر خویش را به توتسلیم کرده است. مددکار یتیمان، تو هستی.

Thou hast seen! For, thou, mischief and misery, dost discern, to requite with thine own hand, Unto thee, doth, the unfortunate one, give himself up, To the fatherless, thou thyself, hast become a helper.

۱۵ 15 بازوی گناهکار را بشکن. و اما شریر را ازشرارت او بازخواست کن تا آن را نیابی.

Shatter thou the arm of the lawless one, And, as for the wrongful, wilt thou not enquire for his lawlessness—wilt thou not find [it]?

۱۶ 16 خداوند پادشاه است تا ابدالاباد. امت‌ها اززمین او هلاک خواهند شد.

Yahweh, is king, to times age-abiding and beyond, The nations have perished out of his land.

۱۷ 17 ‌ای خداوندمسالت مسکینان را اجابت کرده‌ای، دل ایشان رااستوار نموده‌ای و گوش خود را فراگرفته‌ای،

The longing of the patient, thou hast heard, O Yahweh, Thou wilt establish their heart, Thou wilt make attentive thine ear:

۱۸ 18 تایتیمان و کوفته شدگان را دادرسی کنی. انسانی که از زمین است، دیگر نترساند.

To vindicate the fatherless and the crushed, A man of the earth, shall, no further, cause terror!
