لوقا 14
| و واقع شد که در روز سبت، به خانه یکی از روسای فریسیان برای غذاخوردن درآمد و ایشان مراقب او می‌بودند، | ۱ 1 |
One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat at the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees, the people there were watching him closely.
| واینک شخصی مستسقی پیش او بود، | ۲ 2 |
And behold, there in front of him was a man suffering from dropsy.
| آنگاه عیسی ملتفت شده فقها و فریسیان را خطاب کرده، گفت: «آیا در روز سبت شفا دادن جایزاست؟» | ۳ 3 |
In response Jesus said to the lawyers and Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”
| ایشان ساکت ماندند. پس آن مرد راگرفته، شفا داد و رها کرد. | ۴ 4 |
But they remained silent. So Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him away.
| و به ایشان روی آورده، گفت: «کیست از شما که الاغ یا گاوش روزسبت در چاهی افتد و فور آن را بیرون نیاورد؟» | ۵ 5 |
Then he said to them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath will not immediately pull him out?”
| پس در این امور از جواب وی عاجزماندند. | ۶ 6 |
But they could give him no answer about these things.
| و برای مهمانان مثلی زد، چون ملاحظه فرمود که چگونه صدر مجلس را اختیارمی کردند. پس به ایشان گفت: | ۷ 7 |
When Jesus noticed how the guests were choosing the places of honor for themselves, he told them a parable:
| «چون کسی تو رابه عروسی دعوت کند، در صدر مجلس منشین، مبادا کسی بزرگتر از تو را هم وعده خواسته باشد. | ۸ 8 |
“When yoʋ are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not recline in the place of honor, in case someone more honorable than yoʋ has been invited by yoʋr host.
| پس آن کسی‌که تو و او را وعده خواسته بودبیاید و تو را گوید این کس را جای بده و تو باخجالت روی به صف نعال خواهی نهاد. | ۹ 9 |
Then the host, who invited you both, will come and say to yoʋ, ‘Give yoʋr place to this person.’ And with shame yoʋ will begin moving to the least important place.
| بلکه چون مهمان کسی باشی، رفته در پایین بنشین تاوقتی که میزبانت آید به تو گوید، ای دوست برترنشین آنگاه تو را در حضور مجلسیان عزت خواهد بود. | ۱۰ 10 |
But when yoʋ are invited, go recline in the least important place, so that, when yoʋr host comes, he will say to yoʋ, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then yoʋ will be honored in the presence of those who are reclining at the table with yoʋ.
| زیرا هر‌که خود را بزرگ سازدذلیل گردد و هر‌که خویشتن را فرود آرد، سرافرازگردد.» | ۱۱ 11 |
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
| پس به آن کسی‌که از او وعده خواسته بود نیز گفت: «وقتی که چاشت یا شام دهی دوستان یا برادران یا خویشان یا همسایگان دولتمند خود را دعوت مکن مبادا ایشان نیز تو رابخوانند و تو را عوض داده شود. | ۱۲ 12 |
Jesus also said to the man who had invited him, “When yoʋ prepare a luncheon or dinner, do not invite yoʋr friends, yoʋr brothers, yoʋr relatives, or yoʋr rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite yoʋ in return, and yoʋ will be repaid.
| بلکه چون ضیافت کنی، فقیران و لنگان و شلان و کوران رادعوت کن. | ۱۳ 13 |
But when yoʋ prepare a banquet, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind.
| که خجسته خواهی بود زیرا ندارندکه تو را عوض دهند و در قیامت عادلان، به توجزا عطا خواهد شد.» | ۱۴ 14 |
Then yoʋ will be blessed. Since they do not have the means to repay yoʋ, yoʋ will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
| آنگاه یکی از مجلسیان چون این سخن راشنید گفت: «خوشابحال کسی‌که در ملکوت خداغذا خورد.» | ۱۵ 15 |
When one of the men reclining at the table with Jesus heard these things, he said to him, “Blessed is he who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
| به وی گفت: «شخصی ضیافتی عظیم نمود و بسیاری را دعوت نمود. | ۱۶ 16 |
Jesus said to him, “A man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests.
| پس چون وقت شام رسید، غلام خود را فرستاد تادعوت‌شدگان را گوید، بیایید زیرا که الحال همه‌چیز حاضر است. | ۱۷ 17 |
At the time for the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
| لیکن همه به یک رای عذرخواهی آغاز کردند. اولی گفت: مزرعه‌ای خریدم و ناچار باید بروم آن را ببینم، از توخواهش دارم مرا معذور داری. | ۱۸ 18 |
But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go out and see it. I ask yoʋ to have me excused.’
| و دیگری گفت: پنج جفت گاو خریده‌ام، می‌روم تا آنها رابیازمایم، به تو التماس دارم مرا عفو نمایی. | ۱۹ 19 |
Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am on my way to try them out. I ask yoʋ to have me excused.’
| سومی گفت: زنی گرفته‌ام و از این سبب نمی توانم بیایم. | ۲۰ 20 |
Still another said, ‘I have married a woman, and for that reason I cannot come.’
| پس آن غلام آمده مولای خود را از این امور مطلع ساخت. آنگاه صاحب‌خانه غضب نموده به غلام خود فرمود: به بازارهاو کوچه های شهر بشتاب و فقیران و لنگان وشلان و کوران را در اینجا بیاور. | ۲۱ 21 |
So the servant came back and told these things to his master. Then the master of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in the poor, the maimed, the lame, and the blind.’
| پس غلام گفت: ای آقا آنچه فرمودی شد و هنوز جای باقی است. | ۲۲ 22 |
The servant said, ‘Master, it has been done as yoʋ commanded, and there is still room.’
| پس آقا به غلام گفت: به راهها و مرزهابیرون رفته، مردم را به الحاح بیاور تا خانه من پرشود. | ۲۳ 23 |
So the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, so that my house may be filled.
| زیرا به شما می‌گویم هیچ‌یک از آنانی که دعوت شده بودند، شام مرا نخواهد چشید.» | ۲۴ 24 |
For I tell you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my banquet.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.”
| و هنگامی که جمعی کثیر همراه اومی رفتند، روی گردانیده بدیشان گفت: | ۲۵ 25 |
Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and he turned and said to them,
| «اگرکسی نزد من آید و پدر، مادر و زن و اولاد وبرادران و خواهران، حتی جان خود را نیز دشمن ندارد، شاگرد من نمی تواند بود. | ۲۶ 26 |
“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple.
| و هر‌که صلیب خود را برندارد و از عقب من نیاید، نمی تواندشاگرد من گردد. | ۲۷ 27 |
And whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple.
| «زیرا کیست از شما که قصد بنای برجی داشته باشد و اول ننشیند تا برآورد خرج آن رابکند که آیا قوت تمام کردن آن دارد یا نه؟ | ۲۸ 28 |
For which of you who wants to build a tower does not first sit down and estimate the cost, to see if he has what he needs to complete it?
| که مبادا چون بنیادش نهاد و قادر بر تمام کردنش نشد، هر‌که بیند تمسخرکنان گوید، | ۲۹ 29 |
Otherwise, when he has laid the foundation and is not able to finish it, all who are looking on will begin to mock him,
| این شخص عمارتی شروع کرده نتوانست به انجامش رساند. | ۳۰ 30 |
saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’
| یا کدام پادشاه است که برای مقاتله باپادشاه دیگر برود، جز اینکه اول نشسته تامل نماید که آیا با ده هزار سپاه، قدرت مقاومت کسی را دارد که با بیست هزار لشکر بر وی می‌آید؟ | ۳۱ 31 |
Or what king, when he is going out to confront another king in battle, does not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to face the king who is coming against him with twenty thousand men?
| والا چون او هنوز دور است ایلچی‌ای فرستاده شروط صلح را ازاو درخواست کند. | ۳۲ 32 |
If he cannot, he sends a delegation while the other is still far away and asks for terms of peace.
| «پس همچنین هر یکی از شما که تمام مایملک خود را ترک نکند، نمی تواند شاگرد من شود. | ۳۳ 33 |
So then, any one of you who does not give up all his possessions cannot be my disciple.
| «نمک نیکو است ولی هرگاه نمک فاسدشد به چه چیز اصلاح پذیرد؟ | ۳۴ 34 |
“Salt is good, but if salt loses its flavor, with what shall it be seasoned?
| نه برای زمین مصرفی دارد و نه برای مزبله، بلکه بیرونش می‌ریزند. آنکه گوش شنوا دارد بشنود.» | ۳۵ 35 |
It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
