ارمیا 17

۱ 1 «گناه یهودا به قلم آهنین و نوک الماس مرقوم است. و بر لوح دل ایشان و بر شاخهای مذبح های شما منقوش است.

The sin of Judah, is written With a stylus of iron, With the point of a diamond: It is engraved Upon the tablet of their heart, And upon the horns of your altars;

۲ 2 مادامی که پسران ایشان مذبح های خود و اشیریم خویش را نزد درختان سبز و بر تلهای بلند یاد می‌دارند،

So long as their sons remember their altars, and their Sacred Stems, By the green tree, —Upon the high hills,

۳ 3 ‌ای کوه من که در صحرا هستی توانگری وتمامی خزاین تو را به تاراج خواهم داد ومکان های بلند تو را نیز به‌سبب گناهی که در همه حدود خود ورزیده‌ای.

O my mountain in the field Thy substance all thy treasures, for a prey, will I give: Thy high places for sin, within all thy bounds.

۴ 4 و تو از خودت نیز ملک خویش را که به تو داده‌ام بی‌زرع خواهی گذاشت و دشمنانت را در زمینی که نمی دانی خدمت خواهی نمود زیرا آتشی در غضب من افروخته‌اید که تا به ابد مشتعل خواهد بود.»

So shalt thou even of thyself, suffer to rest the inheritance which I gave thee, Seeing that I will cause thee to serve thine enemies, in the land which thou knowest not; For, a fire, have ye kindled in mine anger, Unto times age-abiding, shall it burn.

۵ 5 و خداوند چنین می‌گوید: «ملعون باد کسی‌که بر انسان توکل دارد و بشر را اعتماد خویش سازد و دلش از یهوه منحرف باشد.

Thus, saith Yahweh Accursed is the man—Who trusteth in a son of earth, And hath made flesh his arm, —And whose heart from Yahweh, turneth aside:

۶ 6 و او مثل درخت عرعر در بیابان خواهد بود و چون نیکویی آید آن را نخواهد دید بلکه در مکان های خشک بیابان در زمین شوره غیرمسکون ساکن خواهدشد.»

Therefore shall he become as a shrub in the waste plain, Neither shall he perceive when good cometh, But shall inhabit Parched places in a wilderness, A land of salt that cannot be dwelt in.

۷ 7 مبارک باد کسی‌که بر خداوند توکل دارد وخداوند اعتماد او باشد.

Blessed is the man Who trusteth in Yahweh, To whom Yahweh is his ground of confidence;

۸ 8 او مثل درخت نشانده بر کنار آب خواهد بود که ریشه های خویش رابسوی نهر پهن می‌کند و چون گرما بیاید نخواهدترسید و برگش شاداب خواهد ماند و درخشکسالی اندیشه نخواهد داشت و از آوردن میوه باز نخواهد ماند.

For he shall become like a tree planted by waters, And, by a stream, shall he send out his roots, Neither shall he perceive when heat cometh, But, his leaf shall continue green: Even in a year of dearth, shall he not be anxious, Neither shall he cease from bearing fruit.

۹ 9 دل از همه‌چیز فریبنده تراست و بسیار مریض است کیست که آن را بداند؟

Deceitful is the heart above all things And, dangerously wayward, —Who can know it?

۱۰ 10 «من یهوه تفتیش کننده دل و آزماینده گرده هاهستم تا بهر کس بر‌حسب راههایش و بر وفق ثمره اعمالش جزا دهم.»

I—Yahweh, Searching the heart, Testing the affections; And giving to every man According to his way, According to the fruit of his doings.

۱۱ 11 مثل کبک که بر تخمهایی که ننهاده باشدبنشیند، همچنان است کسی‌که مال را به بی انصافی جمع کند. در نصف روزهایش آن راترک خواهد کرد و در آخرت خود احمق خواهدبود.

As a partridge gathereth eggs she did not lay, [So] is he that maketh riches but not with justice, —In the midst of his days, shall he leave them, And in his latter end, prove to have been base.

۱۲ 12 موضع قدس ما کرسی جلال و از ازل مرتفع است.

A throne of glory, exalted from the beginning, hath been the place of our sanctuary.

۱۳ 13 ‌ای خداوند که امید اسرائیل هستی همگانی که تو را ترک نمایند خجل خواهند شد. آنانی که از من منحرف شوند درزمین مکتوب خواهند شد چونکه خداوند را که چشمه آب حیات‌است ترک نموده‌اند.

Thou hope of Israel Yahweh, All who forsake thee, shall turn pale, —Yea, all who depart from me, in the ground, shall be written, For they have forsaken a fountain of living water, even Yahweh.

۱۴ 14 ‌ای خداوند مرا شفا بده، پس شفا خواهم یافت. مرانجات بده، پس ناجی خواهم شد زیرا که توتسبیح من هستی.

Heal thou me O Yahweh, that I may be healed, Save me that I may be saved, —For, my praise, thou art!

۱۵ 15 اینک ایشان به من می‌گویند: «کلام خداوند کجاست؟ الان واقع بشود.»

Lo! they, are saying unto me, —Where is the word of Yahweh? Pray thee let it come to pass!

۱۶ 16 واما من از بودن شبان برای پیروی تو تعجیل ننمودم و تو می‌دانی که یوم بلا را نخواستم. آنچه از لبهایم بیرون آمد به حضور تو ظاهر بود.

But as for me, I have neither forced myself away from tending the flock after thee, Nor yet for the woeful day, have I longed—thou, knowest, —That which came out of my lips, before thy face, was uttered.

۱۷ 17 برای من باعث ترس مباش که در روز بلاملجای من تویی.

Do not thou become to me a terror, —My refuge, art thou, in the day of calamity.

۱۸ 18 ستمکاران من خجل شونداما من خجل نشوم. ایشان هراسان شوند اما من هراسان نشوم. روز بلا را بر ایشان بیاور و ایشان رابه هلاکت مضاعف هلاک کن.

Let my persecutors, turn pale, but let not me, turn pale, Let, them, be terrified, but let not, me, be terrified, —Bring thou upon them a day of calamity, And with a double fracture, destroy them.

۱۹ 19 خداوند به من چنین گفت که «برو و نزددروازه پسران قوم که پادشاهان یهودا از آن داخل می‌شوند و از آن بیرون می‌روند و نزد همه دروازه های اورشلیم بایست.

Thus, said Yahweh unto me—Go and stand in the gate of the sons of the people, through which the kings of Judah enter in, and through which they come out, —also in all the gates of Jerusalem.

۲۰ 20 و به ایشان بگو: ای پادشاهان یهودا و تمامی یهودا و جمیع سکنه اورشلیم که از این دروازه‌ها داخل می‌شوید کلام خداوند را بشنوید!

Then shalt thou say unto them—Hear ye the word of Yahweh Ye kings of Judah and all Judah, And all ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, —who enter in through these gates:

۲۱ 21 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: برخویشتن با حذر باشید و در روز سبت هیچ باری حمل نکنید و آن را داخل دروازه های اورشلیم مسازید.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Take heed unto your souls, —And do not bear any burden on the sabbath day, Nor bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem, —

۲۲ 22 و در روز سبت هیچ باری ازخانه های خود بیرون میاورید و هیچکار مکنیدبلکه روز سبت را تقدیس نمایید چنانکه به پدران شما امر فرمودم.»

Neither shall ye take forth any burden out of your houses on the sabbath day, Nor any manner of work, shall ye do, —But ye shall hallow the sabbath day, As I commanded your fathers.

۲۳ 23 اما ایشان نشنیدند و گوش خود را فرانداشتند بلکه گردنهای خود را سخت ساختند تانشنوند و تادیب را نپذیرند.

Howbeit they hearkened not, neither inclined their ear, —but stiffened their neck, that they might not hearken, neither receive correction.

۲۴ 24 و خداوندمی گوید: «اگر مرا حقیقت بشنوید و در روز سبت، هیچ باری از دروازه های این شهر داخل نسازید وروز سبت را تقدیس نموده، هیچکار در آن نکنید،

And it shall come to pass, —If ye will, indeed hearken, unto me Declareth Yahweh, To bring in no burden through the gates of this city, on the sabbath day, —But to hallow the sabbath day, by not doing thereon any manner of work,

۲۵ 25 آنگاه پادشاهان و سروران بر کرسی داود نشسته و بر ارابه‌ها و اسبان سوار شده، ایشان و سروران ایشان مردان یهودا و ساکنان اورشلیم از دروازه های این شهر داخل خواهند شد و این شهر تا به ابد مسکون خواهد بود.

Then shall enter in through the gates of this city, Kings and princes Sitting on the throne of David, Riding in chariots and on horses They, and their princes, The men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, And this city shall remain unto times age-abiding.

۲۶ 26 و ازشهرهای یهودا و از نواحی اورشلیم و از زمین بنیامین و از همواری و کوهستان و جنوب خواهند آمد و قربانی های سوختنی و ذبایح وهدایای آردی و بخور خواهند‌آورد و ذبایح تشکر را به خانه خداوند خواهند‌آورد.

And they shall come in—Out of the cities of Judah and Out of the places round about Jerusalem, and Out of the land of Benjamin, and Out of the lowlands, and out of the hill country, and Out of the South, Bringing in ascending-offering, and peace-offering, and meal-offering, and frankincense, —Even they who bring in a thank-offering into the house of Yahweh,

۲۷ 27 و اگرمرا نشنیده روز سبت را تقدیس ننمایید و در روزسبت باری برداشته، به شهرهای اورشلیم داخل سازید آنگاه در دروازه هایش آتشی خواهم افروخت که قصرهای اورشلیم را خواهد سوخت و خاموش نخواهد شد.»

But, if ye will not hearken unto me—To hallow the sabbath day, And to bear no burden and bring in through the gates of Jerusalem, on the sabbath day, Then will I kindle a fire within her gates, And it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, And shall not be quenched.
