Salmenes 101

1 Av David; ein salme. Um miskunn og rett vil eg syngja; deg, Herre, vil eg lova.

I will sing of mercy and judgment: to you, O LORD, will I sing.

2 Eg vil agta på den ulastande veg - når kjem du til meg? Eg vil vandra i mitt hjartans uskyld i mitt hus.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when will you come to me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

3 Ikkje set eg meg for augo nidingsverk, å gjera misgjerd hatar eg, slikt heng ikkje ved meg.

I will set no wicked thing before my eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not stick to me.

4 Eit rangsnutt hjarta skal vika frå meg, vondt vil eg ikkje vita av.

A fraudulent heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

5 Den som løynleg lastar sin næste, han vil eg tyna; deim med stolte augo og ovmodigt hjarta kann eg ikkje tola.

Whoever privately slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off: him that has an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

6 Mine augo ser på dei trugne i landet, for eg vil dei skal bu hjå meg; den som vandrar på ulastande veg, han skal tena meg.

My eyes shall be on the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walks in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 I mitt hus skal ingen få bu som fer med svik; den som talar lygn, skal ikkje standa for augo mine.

He that works deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that tells lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 Kvar morgon vil eg tyna alle ugudlege i landet, so eg kann rydja ut or Herrens by alle ugjerningsmenner.

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.
