Moreover, brothers, I would not that you should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Now all these things happened to them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the world are come. (aiōn g165)

Why let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that you should have fellowship with devils.

You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: you cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of devils.

Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.

Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s wealth.

Whatever is sold in the shambles, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

For the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.

27 Sie mwet su tia lulalfongi ke Christ fin suli kowos in welul mongo, ac kowos fin som nu kac, kang ma filiyuki ye motowos ac tia kusen siyuk lah oal ku tia oal.

If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and you be disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28 Tusruktu fin oasr sie mwet fahk nu suwos, “Mwe mongo inge ma kisakinyukyang nu ke ma sruloala,” na nimet kang mwe mongo ingan, ke na sripen mwet se su fahkot nu suwos an. Finne ac wo suwos,

But if any man say to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof:

29 tuh mwet se ingan ku in fohsak mweyen el pangon mu oal. Na mwet se fin siyuk, “Efu ku elya in nunak lun mwet saya in tuh sikulyuki sukosok luk?

Conscience, I say, not your own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another man’s conscience?

30 Nga fin sang kulo nu sin God ke mwe mongo nak, efu ku kutena mwet in akkolukyeyu ke mwe mongo ma nga sang kulo kac?”

For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?

31 Ke ma inge, kowos fin mongo ku nim, ku kutena ma kowos oru, oru ma nukewa nu ke wolana lun God.

Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Ouiyen moul lowos in tia mwe aklokoalokye mwet Jew, ku mwet sayen mwet Jew, ku mwet in church lun God.

Give none offense, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:

33 Oru oana ke nga oru — ke ma nukewa nga oru, nga srike in akinsewowoye mwet nukewa. Nga tia nunku ke ma ac wo nu sik sifacna, a ke ma ac wo nu sin mwet nukewa, tuh elos fah ku in moulla.

Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
