< 1 Abhakorintho 1 >

1 Paulo, unu abhilikilwaga na Kristo Yesu kubha mutumwa owe lyenda lya Nyamuanga, na Sosthene muili weswe,
To the church of God in Corinth, to those who have been consecrated by union with Christ Jesus and called to become his people, and also to all, wherever they may be, who invoke the name of our Lord Jesus Christ – their Master and ours,
2 kwi kanisa lya Nyamuanga linu lili Korintho, kubhanu bhauhye ku Yesu Kristo, bhanu bhabhilikiwe kubha bhanu bhelu. Echibhandikila bhona bhanu abhalikusha lisina lya Lata Bugenyi weswe Yesu Kristo mbala jona, Latabhugenyi webhwe neswe.
from Paul, who has been called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and from Sosthenes, our fellow follower of the Lord.
3 Echigongo no mulembe gubhe kwemwe okusoka ku Nyamuanga lata weswe na ku Latabhugenyi weswe Yesu Kristo.
May God, our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ bless you and give you peace.
4 Nsiku jona enimusima Nyamuanga wani ingulu yemwe, kwainsonga ye chigongo cha Nyamuanga unu Kristo Yesu abhayanile.
I always thank God for you. I thank him for the blessing bestowed on you in Christ Jesus.
5 Abhakolele kubha bhanibhi ku bhuli njila, kunyaika amwi no bhwengeso bhwona.
For through union with him you were enriched in every way – in your power to preach, and in your knowledge of the truth;
6 Abhakolele kubha bhanibhi, lwakutyo obhubhambasi ingulu ya Kristo kutyo obhwolesha echimali agati yemwe.
and so became yourselves a confirmation of my testimony to the Christ.
7 Kulwejo mutakulebhelelwa amabhando ga mumioyo, lwakutyo muli ne lyenda lyo kulinda obhusuluko bhwa Latabhugenyi weswe Yesu Kristo.
There is no gift in which you are deficient, while waiting for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.
8 Kabhasimbagilisha emwe okukinga kubhutelo, koleleki musige kubha ne solo kulusiku lwa Latabhugenyi weswe Yesu Kristo.
And God himself will strengthen you to the end, so that at the day of our Lord Jesus Christ you may be found blameless.
9 Nyamuanga ni mulengelesi unu abhabhilikiye emwe kubhusangisi bhwo Mwana wae, Yesu Kristo Latabhugenyi weswe.
God will not fail you, and it is he who called you into communion with his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
10 Woli enibhasabhwa abhamula bhasu na bhayala bhasu, okulabhila kwisina lya Latabhugenyi weswe Yesu Kristo, koleleki bhona mwikilishe, na kutabhamo kwaulana agati yemwe. Enibhasabhwa mugwatane amwi mu kwiganilisha no kulwaja kumwi.
But I appeal to you, my friends, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to agree in what you profess, and not to allow divisions to exist among you, but to be united – of one mind and of one opinion.
11 Kulwokubha abhanu bha munyumba ya Kloe bhabwiliye bhulimo obhwaulani bhunu obhugendelela amwi mwimwe.
For I have been informed, my friends, by the members of Chloe’s household, that party feeling exists among you.
12 Nina insonga inu: Bhuli umwi kwimwe kaikati, “Anye nili wa Paulo, “amwi “Anye liwa Apolo,”amwi ati, Anye nili wa Kefa” amwi ati, Anye nili wa Kristo”.
I mean this: that every one of you says either ‘I follow Paul,’ or ‘I Apollos,’ or ‘I Cephas,’ or ‘I Christ.’
13 Angu! Kristo agabhanyikene? Angu! Paulo abhambilwe kulwainjuno yemwe? Angu! mwabhatijibhwe kwi Sina lya Paulo?
You have torn the Christ in pieces! Was it Paul who was crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
14 Enimusima Nyamuanga kulwokubha nitamubhatijishe wona wona, tali Krispo na Gayo.
I am thankful that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,
15 Jinu jabhee kutya atalio wona wona unu akaikile ati mwabhatijibhwe kwi sina lyani.
so that no one can say that you were baptized in my name.
16 (Nalindi nabhatijishe abhamunyumba ya Stephania. Okukila awo, ntakumenyati nabhatijishe munu undi wona wona).
I baptized also the household of Stephanas. I do not know that I baptized anyone else.
17 Kulwokubha, Kristo atantumile kubhatija tali okulasha emisango jo bhwana. Atantumile okulasha kwe misango kwo bhwengeso bhwe chinyamubhili, koleleki amanaga go musalabha gwa Kristo gusige kusosibhwao.
My mission from Christ was not to baptize, but to tell the good news; not, however, in the language of philosophy, in case the cross of the Christ should be robbed of its meaning.
18 Kulwokubha omusango gwo musalabha ni bhumumu ku bhanu abhafwa. Nawe kubhanu Nyamuanga kakisha, ni managa ga Nyamuanga.
The message of the cross is indeed mere folly to those who are on the path to ruin, but to us who are on the path of salvation it is the power of God.
19 Kulwokubha Jandikilwe, “Eninyamula obhwengeso bhwa bhobhwenge. Eninyamula obhwiganilisha bhwa abhobhwenge.”
For scripture says – ‘I will bring the philosophy of the philosophers to naught, and the shrewdness of the shrewd I will bring to nothing.’
20 Alyaki omunu wo bhwengeso? Alyaki omunu wo bhwenge? Alyaki omwaiki no mukongya we chalo chinu? Angu, Nyamuanga atainduye obhwengeso bhwa insi inu kubha bhumumu? (aiōn g165)
Where is the philosopher? Where the teacher of the Law? Where the disputant of today? Has not God shown the world’s philosophy to be folly? (aiōn g165)
21 Okwambila insi inu nibha nobhwengeso bhwayo itamumenyele Nyamuanga, jabhee ja bhwana ku Nyamuanga kubhumumu bhwebhwe obhwokulasha koleleki okuchungula bhanu abhekilisha.
For since the world, in God’s wisdom, did not by its philosophy learn to know God, God saw fit, by the ‘folly’ of our proclamation, to save those who believe in Christ!
22 Ku Bhayahudi abhabhusha ebhijejekanyo bhye bhilugusho na Abhayunani abhayenja obhwengeso.
While Jews ask for miraculous signs, and Greeks study philosophy,
23 Nawe echimulasha Kristo unu abhambilwe, unu ali chikujulo ku Bhayaudi na nibhumumu ku Bhayunani.
we are proclaiming Christ crucified! – to the Jews an obstacle, to the Gentiles mere folly,
24 Nawe kubhanu bhabhilikiwe na Nyamuanga, Abhayaudi na Bhayunani, echimulasha Kristo lwa amanaga no bhwengeso bhwa Nyamuanga.
but to those who have received the call, whether Jews or Greeks, Christ, the power of God and the wisdom of God!
25 Kulwokubha obhumumu bhwa Nyamuanga bhuli no bhwengeso okukila obhwomwana munu, no bhulenga bhwa Nyamuanga bhuli na managa okukila obhwomwana munu.
For God’s ‘folly’ is wiser than people, and God’s ‘weakness’ is stronger than people.
26 Lola okubhilikila kwa Nyamuanga ingulu yemwe, bhamula bhasu na bhayala bhasu. Jitali ati agati yemwe yaliga muli bhengeso mu bhana bhanu. Jitalyati aliga muna amanaga. Jitalyati mwebhuhye mu bhukulu.
Look at the facts of your call, friends. There are not many among you who are wise, as people reckon wisdom, not many who are influential, not many who are high-born;
27 Nawe Nyamuanga asolele ebhinu ebhimumu ebyakuchalo kunu okubhiswasha ebhyo bwengeso. Nyamuanga asolele chinu chaliga chili chilenga ochiswasha echamanaga.
but God chose what the world counts foolish to put its wise to shame, and God chose what the world counts weak to put its strong to shame,
28 Nyamuanga asolele chinu chaliga chili chemwalo na chinu chagahyaga kuchalo kunu. Asolele nebhinu bhinu bhitabhalwagwa kubha na chibhalo, kwo kubhikola kubhulwa chibhalo ebhinu bhinu bhyaliga bhili ne chibhalo.
and God chose what the world counts poor and insignificant – things that to it are unreal – to bring its ‘realities’ to nothing,
29 Akolele kutyo asige kubhao wona wona unu kekuya imbele yae.
so that in his presence no one should boast.
30 Kulwa insonga ya chinu Nyamuanga akolele, woli muli munda ya Kristo Yesu, unu akolelwe kubha mwengeso ingulu yeswe okusoka ku Nyamuanga. Aliga ali chimali cheswe, obhwelu no bhuchungusi.
But you, by your union with Christ Jesus, belong to God; and Christ, by God’s will, became not only our wisdom, but also our righteousness, holiness, and deliverance,
31 Lwakutyo, lwakutyo amandiko agaika, “Unu kekuya, asige okwikuya ku Latabhugenyi.”
so that – in the words of scripture – ‘Whoever boasts should boast of the Lord!’
