ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 31

1 ೧ ಅರಸನಾದ ಲೆಮೂವೇಲನ ಮಾತುಗಳು, ಅಂದರೆ ಅವನ ತಾಯಿಯು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಿಸಿದ ದೈವೋಕ್ತಿಯು,

The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

2 ೨ ಏನು, ಕಂದಾ? ನನ್ನ ಗರ್ಭಪುತ್ರನೇ, ಏನು, ನನ್ನ ಹರಕೆಯ ಮಗುವೇ, ನಾನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ?

What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

3 ೩ ನಿನ್ನ ತ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಡ, ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ವಿನಾಶಕರವಾದ ದಾರಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಬೇಡ.

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4 ೪ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದು ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲ, ಲೆಮೂವೇಲನೇ, ಅದು ರಾಜರಿಗೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯವಲ್ಲ, “ಮದ್ಯವೆಲ್ಲಿ?” ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಪ್ರಭುಗಳಿಗೆ ವಿಹಿತವಲ್ಲ.

[It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

5 ೫ ಕುಡಿದರೆ ಅವರು ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಬಾಧೆಪಡುವವರೆಲ್ಲರ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸಮಾಡುವರು.

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

6 ೬ ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಗತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವನಿಗೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಮನೋವ್ಯಥೆಪಡುವವನಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ ಕೊಡು.

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

7 ೭ ಕುಡಿದು ಬಡತನವನ್ನು ಮರೆತುಬಿಡಲಿ, ಶ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಜ್ಞಾಪಕಕ್ಕೆ ತಾರದಿರಲಿ.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

8 ೮ ಬಾಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೂ, ಹಾಳಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ, ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಬಾಯಿ ತೆರೆ.

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

9 ೯ ಬಾಯನ್ನು ತೆರೆದು ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸು, ದೀನದರಿದ್ರರ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯ ಮಾಡು.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

10 ೧೦ ಗುಣವತಿಯಾದ ಸತಿಯು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವಳು? ಆಕೆಯು ಹವಳಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಬಹೂ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯಳು.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price [is] far above rubies.

11 ೧೧ ಪತಿಯ ಹೃದಯವು ಆಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವುದು, ಅವನು ಕೊಳ್ಳೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯಾಗಿ ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುವನು.

The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 ೧೨ ಆಕೆಯು ಜೀವಮಾನದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಹಿತವನ್ನು ಮಾಡದೆ, ಹಿತವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವಳು.

She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 ೧೩ ಉಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಸೆಣಬನ್ನೂ ಹುಡುಕಿ ತಂದು, ಕೈಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಡುವಳು.

She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 ೧೪ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರದ ಹಡಗುಗಳಂತೆ, ದೂರದಿಂದ ಬೇಕಾದ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತರುವಳು.

She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 ೧೫ ಇನ್ನೂ ಕತ್ತಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಎದ್ದು, ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು, ನೀಡುವಳು ದಾಸಿಯರಿಗೆ ದಿನದ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚುವಳು.

She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 ೧೬ ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಯೋಚಿಸಿ ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು, ತನ್ನ ಕೈಗೆಲಸದ ಲಾಭದಿಂದ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವಳು.

She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 ೧೭ ನಡುವಿನ ಬಲವೆಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು, ತೋಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಶಕ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸುವಳು.

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 ೧೮ ವಿವೇಚಿಸಿ ಬಹುಲಾಭವಾಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು, ಆಕೆಯ ದೀಪವು ರಾತ್ರಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆರದು.

She perceiveth that her merchandise [is] good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 ೧೯ ರಾಟೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕಿ, ಕದರನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವಳು.

She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 ೨೦ ಬಡವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಕೈ ಬಿಚ್ಚಿ, ದಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಕೈ ನೀಡುವಳು.

She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 ೨೧ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಸಕಲಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊದಿಸಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಅವರ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಆಕೆಗೆ ಹಿಮದ ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲ.

She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household [are] clothed with scarlet.

22 ೨೨ ತನಗಾಗಿ ರತ್ನಗಂಬಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವಳು, ಆಕೆಯ ಉಡುಪು ನಾರುಮಡಿ, ರಕ್ತಾಂಬರ.

She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing [is] silk and purple.

23 ೨೩ ಆಕೆಯ ಪತಿಯು ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ, ದೇಶದ ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತಿರುವಾಗ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧನಾಗಿ ಕಾಣುವನು.

Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 ೨೪ ಹಚ್ಚಡಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಯ್ದು ಮಾರಾಟಮಾಡುವಳು, ನಡುಕಟ್ಟುಗಳನ್ನು ವರ್ತಕನಿಗೆ ಒದಗಿಸುವಳು.

She maketh fine linen, and selleth [it; ] and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 ೨೫ ಬಲವನ್ನು, ತೇಜಸ್ಸನ್ನು ಹೊದ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿರುವಳು, ಭವಿಷ್ಯತ್ತಿನ ಭಯವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನಗುತ್ತಿರುವಳು.

Strength and honour [are] her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 ೨೬ ಬಾಯಿದೆರೆದು ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ತೋರ್ಪಡಿಸುವಳು. ಆಕೆಯ ನಾಲಿಗೆಯು ಬುದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುವುದು.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue [is] the law of kindness.

27 ೨೭ ಸೋಮಾರಿತನದ ಅನ್ನವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನದೆ, ಗೃಹಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಳು.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 ೨೮ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಎದ್ದುನಿಂತು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು “ಧನ್ಯಳು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುವರು.

Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband [also], and he praiseth her.

29 ೨೯ ಪತಿಯು ಸಹ, “ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯರು ಗುಣವತಿಯರಾಗಿ ನಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ, ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ನೀನೇ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಳು” ಎಂದು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುವನು.

Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 ೩೦ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವು ನೆಚ್ಚತಕ್ಕದ್ದಲ್ಲ, ಲಾವಣ್ಯವು ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲ, ಯೆಹೋವನಲ್ಲಿ ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವಳೇ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಪಾತ್ರಳು.

Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

31 ೩೧ ಆಕೆಯ ಕೈಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿರಿ, ಆಕೆಯ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳೇ ಪುರದ್ವಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶಂಸಿಸಲಿ.

Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
