エペソ人への手紙 5

1 ですから、愛されている子どもらしく、神にならう者となりなさい。

Be ye therefore followers of YHWH, as dear children;

2 また、愛のうちに歩みなさい。キリストもあなたがたを愛して、私たちのために、ご自身を神へのささげ物、また供え物とし、香ばしいかおりをおささげになりました。

And walk in love, as the Messiah also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to YHWH for a sweetsmelling savour.

3 あなたがたの間では、聖徒にふさわしく、不品行も、どんな汚れも、またむさぼりも、口にすることさえいけません。

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4 また、みだらなことや、愚かな話や、下品な冗談を避けなさい。そのようなことは良くないことです。むしろ、感謝しなさい。

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5 あなたがたがよく見て知っているとおり、不品行な者や、汚れた者や、むさぼる者――これが偶像礼拝者です。――こういう人はだれも、キリストと神との御国を相続することができません。

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Messiah and of YHWH.

6 むなしいことばに、だまされてはいけません。こういう行ないのゆえに、神の怒りは不従順な子らに下るのです。

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of YHWH upon the children of disobedience.

7 ですから、彼らの仲間になってはいけません。

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8 あなたがたは、以前は暗やみでしたが、今は、主にあって、光となりました。光の子どもらしく歩みなさい。

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye in the light of YHWH: walk as children of light:

9 ――光の結ぶ実は、あらゆる善意と正義と真実なのです。――

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth; )

10 そのためには、主に喜ばれることが何であるかを見分けなさい。

Proving what is acceptable unto YHWH.

11 実を結ばない暗やみのわざに仲間入りしないで、むしろ、それを明るみに出しなさい。

And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.

12 なぜなら、彼らがひそかに行なっていることは、口にするのも恥ずかしいことだからです。

For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13 けれども、明るみに引き出されるものは、みな、光によって明らかにされます。

But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.

14 明らかにされたものはみな、光だからです。それで、こう言われています。 「眠っている人よ。目をさませ。 死者の中から起き上がれ。 そうすれば、キリストが、あなたを照らされる。」

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and the Messiah shall give thee light.

15 そういうわけですから、賢くない人のようにではなく、賢い人のように歩んでいるかどうか、よくよく注意し、

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16 機会を十分に生かして用いなさい。悪い時代だからです。

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17 ですから、愚かにならないで、主のみこころは何であるかを、よく悟りなさい。

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of YHWH is.

18 また、酒に酔ってはいけません。そこには放蕩があるからです。御霊に満たされなさい。

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19 詩と賛美と霊の歌とをもって、互いに語り、主に向かって、心から歌い、また賛美しなさい。

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to YHWH;

20 いつでも、すべてのことについて、私たちの主イエス・キリストの名によって父なる神に感謝しなさい。

Giving thanks always for all things unto YHWH the Father in the name of our Master Yahushua the Messiah;

21 キリストを恐れ尊んで、互いに従いなさい。

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of YHWH.

22 妻たちよ。あなたがたは、主に従うように、自分の夫に従いなさい。

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto Yahushua.

23 なぜなら、キリストは教会のかしらであって、ご自身がそのからだの救い主であられるように、夫は妻のかしらであるからです。

For the husband is the head of the wife, even as the Messiah is the head of the assembly: and he is the saviour of the body.

24 教会がキリストに従うように、妻も、すべてのことにおいて、夫に従うべきです。

Therefore as the assembly is subject unto the Messiah, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 夫たちよ。キリストが教会を愛し、教会のためにご自身をささげられたように、あなたがたも、自分の妻を愛しなさい。

Husbands, love your wives, even as the Messiah also loved the assembly, and gave himself for it;

26 キリストがそうされたのは、みことばにより、水の洗いをもって、教会をきよめて聖なるものとするためであり、

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27 ご自身で、しみや、しわや、そのようなものの何一つない、きよく傷のないものとなった栄光の教会を、ご自分の前に立たせるためです。

That he might present it to himself a glorious assembly, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28 そのように、夫も自分の妻を自分のからだのように愛さなければなりません。自分の妻を愛する者は自分を愛しているのです。

So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29 だれも自分の身を憎んだ者はいません。かえって、これを養い育てます。それはキリストが教会をそうされたのと同じです。

For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Yahushua the assembly:

30 私たちはキリストのからだの部分だからです。

For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31 「それゆえ、人はその父と母を離れ、妻と結ばれ、ふたりは一心同体となる。」

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32 この奥義は偉大です。私は、キリストと教会とをさして言っているのです。

This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning the Messiah and the assembly.

33 それはそうとして、あなたがたも、おのおの自分の妻を自分と同様に愛しなさい。妻もまた自分の夫を敬いなさい。

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.
