コリント人への手紙第一 3
1 さて、兄弟たちよ。私は、あなたがたに向かって、御霊に属する人に対するようには話すことができないで、肉に属する人、キリストにある幼子に対するように話しました。
And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
2 私はあなたがたには乳を与えて、堅い食物を与えませんでした。あなたがたには、まだ無理だったからです。実は、今でもまだ無理なのです。
I have fed you with milk, and not with food: for until now all of you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are all of you able.
3 あなたがたは、まだ肉に属しているからです。あなたがたの間にねたみや争いがあることからすれば、あなたがたは肉に属しているのではありませんか。そして、ただの人のように歩んでいるのではありませんか。
For all of you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are all of you not carnal, and walk as men?
4 ある人が、「私はパウロにつく。」と言えば、別の人は、「私はアポロに。」と言う。そういうことでは、あなたがたは、ただの人たちではありませんか。
For while one says, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are all of you not carnal?
5 アポロとは何でしょう。パウロとは何でしょう。あなたがたが信仰にはいるために用いられたしもべであって、主がおのおのに授けられたとおりのことをしたのです。
Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom all of you believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?
6 私が植えて、アポロが水を注ぎました。しかし、成長させたのは神です。
I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.
7 それで、たいせつなのは、植える者でも水を注ぐ者でもありません。成長させてくださる神なのです。
So then neither is he that plants any thing, neither he that waters; but God that gives the increase.
8 植える者と水を注ぐ者は、一つですが、それぞれ自分自身の働きに従って自分自身の報酬を受けるのです。
Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 私たちは神の協力者であり、あなたがたは神の畑、神の建物です。
For we are labourers together with God: all of you are God's farming, all of you are God's building.
10 与えられた神の恵みによって、私は賢い建築家のように、土台を据えました。そして、ほかの人がその上に家を建てています。しかし、どのように建てるかについてはそれぞれが注意しなければなりません。
According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise architect, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon.
11 というのは、だれも、すでに据えられている土台のほかに、ほかの物を据えることはできないからです。その土台とはイエス・キリストです。
For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 もし、だれかがこの土台の上に、金、銀、宝石、木、草、わらなどで建てるなら、
Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 各人の働きは明瞭になります。その日がそれを明らかにするのです。というのは、その日は火とともに現われ、この火がその力で各人の働きの真価をためすからです。
Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 もしだれかの建てた建物が残れば、その人は報いを受けます。
If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 もしだれかの建てた建物が焼ければ、その人は損害を受けますが、自分自身は、火の中をくぐるようにして助かります。
If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
16 あなたがたは神の神殿であり、神の御霊があなたがたに宿っておられることを知らないのですか。
Know all of you not that all of you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit (pneuma) of God dwells in you?
17 もし、だれかが神の神殿をこわすなら、神がその人を滅ぼされます。神の神殿は聖なるものだからです。あなたがたがその神殿です。
If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple all of you are.
Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seems to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. (aiōn g165)
19 なぜなら、この世の知恵は、神の御前では愚かだからです。こう書いてあります。「神は、知者どもを彼らの悪賢さの中で捕える。」
For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness.
20 また、次のようにも書いてあります。「主は、知者の論議を無益だと知っておられる。」
And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.
21 ですから、だれも人間を誇ってはいけません。すべては、あなたがたのものです。
Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are your's;
22 パウロであれ、アポロであれ、ケパであれ、また世界であれ、いのちであれ、死であれ、また現在のものであれ、未来のものであれ、すべてあなたがたのものです。
Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are your's;
23 そして、あなたがたはキリストのものであり、キリストは神のものです。
And all of you are Christ's; and Christ is God's.
