マタイの福音書 6
1 人に見られんとて人の前に汝等の義を為さざる様慎め。然らずば天に在す汝等の父の御前に報を得じ。
Take heed that all of you do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise all of you have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
2 然れば施を為すに當りて、僞善者が人に尊ばれんとて會堂及衢に為す如く、己が前に喇叭を吹くこと勿れ。我誠に汝等に告ぐ、彼等は既に其報を受けたり。
Therefore when you do your alms, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
3 汝が施を為すに當りて、右の手の為す所、左の手之を知るべからず。
But when you do alms, let not your left hand know what your right hand does:
4 是汝の施の隠れん為なり。然らば隠れたるに見給ふ汝の父は汝に報い給ふべし。
That your alms may be in secret: and your Father which sees in secret himself shall reward you openly.
5 又祈る時僞善者の如く為ること勿れ。彼等は人に見られんとて會堂に衢の隅に立ちて祈る事を好む。我誠に汝等に告ぐ、彼等は既に其報を受けたり。
And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 汝は祈るに己が室に入りて戸を閉ぢ、隠れたるに在りて汝の父に祈れ、然らば隠れたるに見給ふ汝の父は汝に報い給ふべし。
But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly.
7 又祈るに異邦人の如く繰言を為すこと勿れ、彼等は言の多きに由りて聴容れられんと思ふなり。
But when all of you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 故に彼等に倣ふこと勿れ、其は汝等の父は、汝等の願はざる前に其要する所を知り給へばなり。
Be not all of you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things all of you have need of, before all of you ask him.
9 然れば汝等斯く祈るべし。天に在す我等の父よ、願はくは御名の聖と為られん事を、
After this manner therefore pray all of you: Our Father which are in heaven, Hallowed be your name.
10 御國の來らん事を、御旨の天に行はるる如く地にも行はれん事を。
Your kingdom come, Your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 我等の日用の糧を今日我等に與へ給へ。
Give us this day our daily bread.
12 我等が己に負債ある人を赦す如く、我等の負債をも赦し給へ。
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 我等を試に引き給ふことなく、却て惡より救ひ給へ、（アメン）と。
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For your is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 蓋汝等若人の罪を赦さば、汝等の天父も汝等の罪を赦し給ふべく、
For if all of you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 汝等若人を赦さずば、汝等の父も汝等の罪を赦し給はざるべし。
But if all of you forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
16 汝等断食する時、僞善者の如く悲しき容を為すこと勿れ。即彼等は、断食する者と人に見えん為に其顔色を損ふなり。我誠に汝等に告ぐ、彼等は既に其報を受けたり。
Moreover when all of you fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17 汝は断食する時、頭に膏を附け且顔を洗へ、
But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;
18 是断食する者と人に見えずして、隠れたるに在す汝の父に見えん為なり、然らば隠れたるに見給ふ汝の父は汝に報い給ふべし。
That you appear not unto men to fast, but unto your Father which is in secret: and your Father, which sees in secret, shall reward you openly.
19 汝等己の為に寳を地に蓄ふること勿れ、此處には錆と蠹と喰ひ壊り、盗人穿ちて盗むなり。
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust does corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
20 汝等己の為に寳を天に蓄へよ、彼處には錆も蠹も壊らず、盗人穿たず盗まざるなり。
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust does corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
21 其は汝の寳の在る處に心も亦在ればなり。
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 汝の身の燈は目なり。若し汝の目清くば全身明にならん、
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore your eye be single, your whole body shall be full of light.
23 汝の目惡くば全身暗からん。然れば汝の身に在る光すら暗黒ならば、暗黒其物は如何あるべきぞ。
But if your eye be evil, your whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you be darkness, how great is that darkness!
24 誰も二人の主に兼事ふる事能はず、其は或は一人を憎みて一人を愛し、或は一人に從ひて一人を疎むべければなり。汝等は神と富とに兼事ふる事能はず、
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. All of you cannot serve God and mammon.
25 故に我汝等に告ぐ、生命の為に何を食ひ、身の為に何を着んかと思煩ふ勿れ、生命は食物に優り、身は衣服に優るに非ずや。
Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what all of you shall eat, or what all of you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what all of you shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?
26 空の鳥を見よ、彼等は撒く事なく、刈る事なく、倉に収むる事なきに、汝等の天父は之を養ひ給ふ、汝等は是よりも遥に優れるに非ずや。
Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are all of you not much better than they?
27 汝等の中誰か、思煩ひて其生命に一肘だも加ふる事を得る。
Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
28 又何とて衣服の為に思煩ふや、野の百合の如何にして育つかを看よ、働く事なく紡ぐ事なし、
And why take all of you thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:
29 然れども我汝等に告ぐ、サロモンだも、其榮華の極に於て、此百合の一ほどに装はざりき。
And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 今日在りて明日炉に投入れらるる野の草をさへ、神は斯く装はせ給へば、况や汝等をや、信仰薄き者よ、
Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O all of you of little faith?
31 然れば汝等は、我等何を食ひ何を飲み何を着んかと云ひて思煩ふこと勿れ、
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
32 是皆異邦人の求むる所にして、汝等の天父は、是等の物皆汝等に要あるを知り給へばなり。
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek: ) for your heavenly Father knows that all of you have need of all these things.
33 故に先神の國と其義とを求めよ、然らば是等の物皆汝等に加へらるべし。
But seek all of you first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
34 然れば明日の為に思煩ふこと勿れ、明日は明日自、己の為に思煩はん、其日は其日の勞苦にて足れり。
Take therefore no thought for the next day: for the next day shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
