ペテロの手紙第一 5
1 第二項 牧師及び信徒に関する特別の勧告。 汝等の中の長老には、我も共に長老として、又キリストの苦難の證人として、将來顕るべき光榮に與る者として希ふ。
THE presbyters among you I exhort, who am a co-presbyter and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker of the glory which shall be revealed:
2 汝等の中に在る所の神の羊の群を牧せよ、之を監督するに、強ひられてせずして喜びて神の御為にし、耻かしき利の為にせずして特志を以て行ひ、
feed the flock of God which is among you, exercising your pastoral office not of necessity, but of choice, not for base gain, but with alacrity of mind;
3 托せられたる人々を壓制せずして、心より群の模範と成るべし。
not as domineering over your allotted congregations, but as being examples of the flock.
4 然らば大牧者の顕れ給はん時、汝等凋まざる光榮の冠を得べし。
And when the arch Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that will never fade away.
5 若き者よ、汝等も亦長老に服せよ、皆互に謙遜を帯びよ、神は傲慢なる者に逆らひて、謙遜なる者に恩寵を賜へばなり。
In like manner, ye who are younger persons, be in subjection to your elders: but all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed from head to foot with humility: for God sets himself in opposition to the proud, but he giveth grace to the lowly.
6 然れば汝等、神の全能なる御手の下に謙れ、然せば時至りて彼汝等を高め給はん。
Humble yourselves therefore beneath the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due season:
7 思ひ煩ふ所を悉く神に委ね奉れ、神は汝等の為に慮り給へばなり。
casting all your anxiety upon him; for he careth for you.
8 汝等節制して警戒せよ、其は汝等の仇なる惡魔は、吼ゆる獅子の如く、食盡すべきものを探しつつ行廻ればなり、
Be sober, be vigilant; for your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, prowleth around, seeking whom he may devour:
9 汝等此世に在る兄弟等の同じく苦しめる事を知りて、信仰に心を堅めて之に抵抗せよ。
against whom stand fast, firm in the faith, knowing that the very same sufferings are fully endured by the brotherhood which is in the world.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, when ye have suffered a little while, himself perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. (aiōnios g166)
12 結末。 忠信なる兄弟シルヴァノを以て我が汝等に書贈りし所は、我思ふに簡単なり。是此神の恩寵の眞なる事を勧告し、且保證するもののにして、汝等宜しく之に立つべし。
By Silvanus, a faithful brother as I think, I have written to you a few words, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God wherein ye are standing fast.
13 汝等と共に選まれてバビロンに在る教會、及び我子マルコは汝等に宜しくと言へり。
She who is co-elect at Babylon, saluteth you, and my son Mark.
14 愛の接吻を以て互に宜しく傳へよ。願はくは、キリストに在る汝等一同に平安あらん事を、アメン。
Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
