ヘブル人への手紙 2
1 こういうわけだから、わたしたちは聞かされていることを、いっそう強く心に留めねばならない。そうでないと、おし流されてしまう。
Therefore we ought to pay greater attention to the things that were heard, so that we will not drift away.
2 というのは、御使たちをとおして語られた御言が効力を持ち、あらゆる罪過と不従順とに対して正当な報いが加えられたとすれば、
For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense;
3 わたしたちは、こんなに尊い救をなおざりにしては、どうして報いをのがれることができようか。この救は、初め主によって語られたものであって、聞いた人々からわたしたちにあかしされ、
how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation—which at the first having been spoken through the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard;
4 さらに神も、しるしと不思議とさまざまな力あるわざとにより、また、御旨に従い聖霊を各自に賜うことによって、あかしをされたのである。
God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders, by various works of power, and by gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to his own will?
5 いったい、神は、わたしたちがここで語っているきたるべき世界を、御使たちに服従させることは、なさらなかった。
For he did not subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
6 聖書はある箇所で、こうあかししている、「人間が何者だから、これを御心に留められるのだろうか。人の子が何者だから、これをかえりみられるのだろうか。
But one has somewhere testified, saying, "What is man, that you think of him? Or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 あなたは、しばらくの間、彼を御使たちよりも低い者となし、栄光とほまれとを冠として彼に与え、
You made him a little lower than the angels. You crowned him with glory and honor.
8 万物をその足の下に服従させて下さった」。「万物を彼に服従させて下さった」という以上、服従しないものは、何ひとつ残されていないはずである。しかし、今もなお万物が彼に服従している事実を、わたしたちは見ていない。
You have put all things under his feet." For in that he put all things under him, he left nothing that is not under him. But now we do not yet see that all things are under him.
9 ただ、「しばらくの間、御使たちよりも低い者とされた」イエスが、死の苦しみのゆえに、栄光とほまれとを冠として与えられたのを見る。それは、彼が神の恵みによって、すべての人のために死を味わわれるためであった。
But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
10 なぜなら、万物の帰すべきかた、万物を造られたかたが、多くの子らを栄光に導くのに、彼らの救の君を、苦難をとおして全うされたのは、彼にふさわしいことであったからである。
For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 実に、きよめるかたも、きよめられる者たちも、皆ひとりのかたから出ている。それゆえに主は、彼らを兄弟と呼ぶことを恥とされない。
For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,
12 すなわち、「わたしは、御名をわたしの兄弟たちに告げ知らせ、教会の中で、あなたをほめ歌おう」と言い、
saying, "I will declare your name to my brothers. In the midst of the assembly I will praise you."
13 また、「わたしは、彼により頼む」、また、「見よ、わたしと、神がわたしに賜わった子らとは」と言われた。
And again, "I will put my trust in him." And again, "Look, I and the children whom God has given me."
14 このように、子たちは血と肉とに共にあずかっているので、イエスもまた同様に、それらをそなえておられる。それは、死の力を持つ者、すなわち悪魔を、ご自分の死によって滅ぼし、
Since then the children have shared in flesh and blood, he also himself in like manner partook of the same, that through death he might bring to nothing him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 死の恐怖のために一生涯、奴隷となっていた者たちを、解き放つためである。
and might deliver all of them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.
16 確かに、彼は天使たちを助けることはしないで、アブラハムの子孫を助けられた。
For, truly, he did not come to help the angels, but to help the offspring of Abraham.
17 そこで、イエスは、神のみまえにあわれみ深い忠実な大祭司となって、民の罪をあがなうために、あらゆる点において兄弟たちと同じようにならねばならなかった。
Therefore he was obligated in all things to be made like his brothers, that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.
18 主ご自身、試錬を受けて苦しまれたからこそ、試錬の中にある者たちを助けることができるのである。
For in that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
