エゼキエル書 26
1 第十一年の第一日に主の言葉がわたしに臨んだ、
And it came to pass in the eleventh year, on the first of the month, that the word of Yahweh came unto me, saying:
2 「人の子よ、ツロはエルサレムについて言った、『ああ、それはよい気味である。もろもろの民の門は破れて、わたしに開かれた。わたしは豊かになり、彼は破れはてた』と。
Son of man, Because Tyre hath said concerning Jerusalem. Aha! She is broken that was the doors of the peoples. She is turned unto me, — I shall be filled, She is laid waste,
3 それゆえ、主なる神はこう言われる、ツロよ、わたしはあなたを攻め、海がその波を起すように、わたしは多くの国民を、あなたに攻めこさせる。
Therefore, Thus, saith My Lord Yahweh, Behold me! against thee O Tyre, — So then I will bring up against thee many nations, As the sea bringeth up its rolling waves;
4 彼らはツロの城壁をこわし、そのやぐらを倒す。わたしはその土を払い去って、裸の岩にする。
And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre. And break down her towers, And I will scrape clean her dust from off her, —And make of her the glaring face of a cliff:
5 ツロは海の中にあって、網をはる場所になる。これはわたしが言ったのであると、主なる神は言われる。ツロは、もろもろの民にかすめられ、
A place for the spreading of nets, shall she become, in the midst of the sea, For, I, have spoken Declareth My Lord. Yahweh, -And she shall become a prey to the nations.
6 その本土におる娘たちは、つるぎで殺される。そして彼らは、わたしが主であることを知るようになる。
And her daughters that are in the field: with the sword shall be slain: So shall they know that I am Yahweh.
7 主なる神はこう言われる、見よ、わたしは王の王なるバビロンの王ネブカデレザルに、馬、戦車、騎兵、および多くの軍勢をひきいて、北からツロに攻めこさせる。
For thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, Behold me! bringing against Tyre. Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon out of the North. a king of kings, —with horses and with chariots and with horsemen, and a gathered host, and much people.
8 彼は本土におるあなたの娘たちを、つるぎで殺し、あなたに向かって雲悌を建て、塁を築き、盾を備え、
Thy daughters in the field—with the sword, shall he slay, - And shall set against thee a siege-wall And cast up against thee an earthwork, And set up against thee a large shield;
9 城くずしをあなたの城壁に向け、おのであなたのやぐらを打ち砕く。
And the stroke of his attacking-engine, will he direct against thy walls, — And thy towers, will he break down with his axes.
10 その多くの馬の土煙は、あなたをおおう。人が破れた町にはいるように、彼があなたの門にはいる時、騎兵と貨車と戦車の響きによって、あなたの石がきはゆるぐ。
By reason of the multitude of his horses, their dust shall cover thee, — At the noise of horseman and wheel and chariot, shall thy walls tremble, when he entereth into thy gates Just as they do who enter a city broken open.
11 彼はその馬のひずめで、あなたのすべてのちまたを踏みあらし、つるぎであなたの民を殺す。あなたの力強い柱は地に倒れる。
With the hoofs of his horses, shall he tread down all thy streets, — Thy people-with the sword, shall he slay, And thy pillars of strength to the earth, shall go down.
12 彼らはあなたの財宝を奪い、商品をかすめ、城壁をくずし、楽しい家をこわし、石と木と土とを水の中に投げ込む。
And they shall spoil thy wealth And make a prey of thy merchandise, And break down thy walls And thy pleasant houses, shall they lay in ruins; And thy stones and thy timber and thy dust—in the midst of the waters, shall they lay.
13 わたしはあなたの歌の声をとどめる。琴の音はもはや聞えなくなる。
And I will cause to cease the hum of thy songs; And the sound of thy lyres, shall not be heard any more.
14 わたしはあなたを裸の岩にする。あなたは網を張る場所となり、再び建てられることはない。主なるわたしがこれを言ったと、主なる神は言われる。
And I will make of thee the glaring face of a cliff. A place for the spreading of nets, shalt thou become, Thou shalt not be but any more, For I. Yahweh have spoken it, Declareth My Lord Yahweh.
15 主なる神はツロにこう言われる、海沿いの国々はあなたの倒れる響き、手負いのうめき、あなたのうちの殺人のゆえに、身震いしないであろうか。
Thus saith My Lord. Yahweh, to Tyre: Shall it not be that. At the sound of thy fall. With the groan of thy pierced one. With the slaughter made in thy midst, The Coastlands shall tremble?
16 その時、海の君たちは皆その位からおり、朝服を脱ぎ、縫い取りの衣服を取り去り、恐れを身にまとい、地に座して、いたく恐れ、あなたの事を驚き、
Then shall come down from off their thrones all the princes of the sea, And shall lay aside their robes. And their embroidered garments, shall strip off, — With tremblings, shall they clothe them. selves Upon the ground, shall they sit, And shall tremble every moment and be astonished over thee.
17 あなたのために悲しみの歌をのべて言う、『あなたは海にあって、強い誉ある町、本土に恐れを与えていたあなたも、その住民も、海から消え去った。
Then shall they take up over thee a dirge, And say to thee, - How hast thou perished, And ceased from the seas, - The city renowned which was strong in the sea She and they who dwelt in her, Who imparted their terror To all who dwelt in her.
18 島々はあなたの倒れる日に身震いする。海の島々はあなたの去り行くことを見て驚く』。
Now, shall tremble the Coastlands, In the day of thy fall, - And shall shudder the isles that are in the sea. At thine exit!
19 主なる神はこう言われる、わたしはあなたを、荒れた町となし、住む者のない町のようにし、淵をあなたに向かってわきあがらせ、大水にあなたをおおわせる時、
For thus saith My Lord Yahweh, When I make thee a desolate city, Like cities which cannot be dwelt in, - When I bring up over thee the roaring deep, And the mighty waters cover thee,
20 あなたを穴に下る者どもと共に、昔の民の所に下し、穴に下る者と共に下の国に、昔のままの荒れ跡の中に、あなたを住ませる。それゆえ、あなたは人の住む所とならず、また生ある者の地に所を得ない。
Then will I bring thee down with them that go down into the pit. Unto the people of age-past times And cause thee to dwell in the earth below Among the desolations from age-past times With them that go down into the pit That thou mayest not be dwelt in, Nor yet present thyself in the land of the living.
21 わたしはあなたの終りを、恐るべきものとする。あなたは無に帰する。あなたを尋ねる人があっても、永久に見いださないと、主なる神は言われる」。
A terror, will I make thee And thou shalt not be: Though thou be sought for, Thou shalt not be found any more To times age-abiding, Declareth My Lord, Yahweh.
