ルカの福音書 13
1 さて，ちょうどその時，ガリラヤ人たちのことを彼に報告した。ピラトが彼らの血を彼らの犠牲と混ぜたのである。
Now there were some present at that very season which told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
2 イエスは彼らに答えた，「あなた方は，彼らがこのような災難に遭ったからといって，これらのガリラヤ人たちがほかのすべてのガリラヤ人たちよりも罪人だったと思うのか。
And he answered and said unto them, Think ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they have suffered these things?
3 あなた方に告げるが，そうではない。むしろ，あなた方も悔い改めなければ，みな同じように滅びるだろう。
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all in like manner perish.
4 あるいは，シロアムの塔が倒れて押し殺されたあの十八人は，エルサレムに住むすべての人たちよりも違反の多い者だったと思うのか。
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and killed them, think ye that they were offenders above all the men that dwell in Jerusalem?
5 あなた方に告げるが，そうではない。むしろ，あなた方も悔い改めなければ，みな同じように滅びるだろう」 。
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
6 彼は次のたとえを話した。「ある人が，自分のブドウ園に植えた一本のイチジクの木を持っていた。彼はそこに実を探しに来たが，何も見つからなかった。
And he spake this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit thereon, and found none.
7 彼はブドウの栽培人に言った，『見ろ，この三年間，このイチジクの木に実を探しに来ているのに，何も見つからなかった。これを切り倒してしまえ。なぜこれが土地を無駄にふさいでいるのか』。
And he said unto the vinedresser, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why doth it also cumber the ground?
8 栽培人は答えた，『ご主人様，それを今年だけそのままにしておいてやってください。この木の周りを掘って，肥料をやりますから。
And he answering saith unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:
9 もし実を結べば上等ですし，そうでなければ，その後で，これを切り倒してしまって構いません』」 。
and if it bear fruit thenceforth, [well]; but if not, thou shalt cut it down.
10 彼は安息日に会堂の一つで教えていた。
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath day.
11 見よ，十八年間も病弱の霊に取りつかれた女がいた。彼女は腰が曲がったままで，どうしても伸ばすことができなかった。
And behold, a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years; and she was bowed together, and could in no wise lift herself up.
12 イエスは彼女を見ると，呼び寄せて彼女に言った，「女よ，あなたは自分の病弱さから解き放たれている」 。
And when Jesus saw her, he called her, and said to her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
13 彼女の上に手を置いた。すると，すぐに彼女はまっすぐになり，神に栄光をささげた。
And he laid his hands upon her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
14 会堂長は，イエスが安息日にいやしたので憤慨し，群衆に言った，「人々が働くべき日は六日ある。だからそれらの日にやって来て，いやしてもらうがよい。安息日にはいけないのだ！」
And the ruler of the synagogue, being moved with indignation because Jesus had healed on the sabbath, answered and said to the multitude, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the day of the sabbath.
15 そこで主は彼に答えた，「偽善者たち！ あなた方はおのおの，安息日に自分の牛やロバを家畜小屋から解いて，水を飲ませに引いて行くではないか。
But the Lord answered him, and said, Ye hypocrites, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?
16 アブラハムの娘で，サタンが十八年間も縛っていたこの女は，安息日にその束縛から解かれるべきではなかったか」 。
And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan had bound, lo, [these] eighteen years, to have been loosed from this bond on the day of the sabbath?
17 彼がこれらのことを言うと，彼の反対者たちはみな恥じ入った。しかし，群衆はみな，彼によってなされたすべての栄光ある事柄のために喜んだ。
And as he said these things, all his adversaries were put to shame: and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.
18 彼は言った，「神の王国は何に似ているだろうか。それを何と比べようか。
He said therefore, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I liken it?
19 それは，ある人が取って自分の庭にまいた，一粒のからしの種のようなものだ。それは成長し，大きな木になり，その枝に空の鳥たちが巣を作った」 。
It is like unto a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his own garden; and it grew, and became a tree; and the birds of the heaven lodged in the branches thereof.
20 また彼は言った，「神の王国を何と比べようか。
And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God?
21 それはパン種のようだ。ある女がそれを取って，三ますの麦粉の中に隠すと，ついには全体が発酵した」 。
It is like unto leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till it was all leavened.
22 彼は町々や村々を通って行きながら，教え，エルサレムに向けて旅をしていた。
And he went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and journeying on unto Jerusalem.
23 ある者が彼に言った，「主よ，救われる者は少ないのですか」。 彼は彼らに言った，
And one said unto him, Lord, are they few that be saved? And he said unto them,
24 「狭い戸口を通って入るよう必死に努めなさい。あなた方に告げるが，入ろうと努めながら，入れない人が多いからだ。
Strive to enter in by the narrow door: for many, I say unto you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able.
25 いったん家の主人が起き上がって戸を閉めてしまうと，あなた方が外に立ち，戸をたたいて，『だんな様，だんな様，わたしたちに開けてください！』と言い始めても，彼は答えてあなた方に告げるだろう，『わたしはあなた方を知らないし，あなた方がどこから来たのかも知らない』。
When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, open to us; and he shall answer and say to you, I know you not whence ye are;
26 その時，あなた方は言い始めるだろう，『わたしたちはあなたの面前で食べたり飲んだりしましたし，あなたはわたしたちの通りで教えてくださいました』。
then shall ye begin to say, We did eat and drink in thy presence, and thou didst teach in our streets;
27 彼は言うだろう，『わたしはあなた方を知らないし，あなた方がどこから来たのかも知らない。不法を働く者たちよ，皆わたしから離れ去れ』。
and he shall say, I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
28 そこには嘆きと歯ぎしりとがあるだろう。アブラハム，イサク，ヤコブ，そしてすべての預言者たちが神の王国にいるのに，自分たちが外に投げ出されているのを見るときには。
There shall be the weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and yourselves cast forth without.
29 人々は東から，西から，北から，南からやって来て，神の王国で席に着くだろう。
And they shall come from the east and west, and from the north and south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.
30 見よ，最後であったのに最初になる者たちがおり，最初であったのに最後になる者たちがいる」 。
And behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.
31 その同じ日に，何人かのファリサイ人たちがやって来て，彼に言った，「ここから出て，立ち去りなさい。ヘロデがあなたを殺そうとしているからです」。
In that very hour there came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Get thee out, and go hence: for Herod would fain kill thee.
32 彼は彼らに言った，「行って，あのキツネに言いなさい，『見よ，わたしは今日も明日も悪霊たちを追い出し，いやしを行なっている。そして三日目に，自分の使命を成し遂げるだろう。
And he said unto them, Go and say to that fox, Behold, I cast out devils and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third [day] I am perfected.
33 それでも，わたしは，今日も明日もあさっても進んで行かなければならない。預言者がエルサレムの外で滅びることはあり得ないからだ』。
Howbeit I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the [day] following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.
34 「エルサレム，エルサレム，預言者たちを殺し，自分のところに遣わされた者たちを石打ちにする者よ！ めんどりがそのひなの群れを翼の下に集めるように，わたしは幾たびあなたの子らを集めようとしたことか。だが，あなた方は拒んだ！
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killeth the prophets, and stoneth them that are sent unto her! how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen [gathereth] her own brood under her wings, and ye would not!
35 見よ，あなた方の家は荒れ果てたままに残される。あなた方に告げるが，あなた方は，『主の名において来る者は幸いだ！』と言うときまでは，決してわたしを見ることはないだろう」 。
Behold, your house is left unto you [desolate]: and I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until ye shall say, Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord.
