列王記Ⅱ 14
1 イスラエルの王ヨアハズの子ヨアシの二年にユダの王ヨアシの子アマジヤ王となれり
In the second year of Joash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel reigned Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah.
2 彼は王となれる時二十五歳にして二十九年の間エルサレムにて世を治めたりその母はエルサレムの者にして名をヱホアダンと云り
He was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem.
3 アマジヤはヱホバの善と見たまふ事をなしたりしがその先祖ダビデのごとくはあらざりき彼は萬の事において其父ヨアシがなせしごとくに事をなせり
And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, yet not like David his father: he did according to all things as Joash his father did.
4 惟崇邱はのぞかずしてあり民はなほその崇邱において犠牲をささげ香を焚り
Nevertheless the high places were not taken away: as yet the people did sacrifice and burnt incense on the high places.
5 彼は國のその手に堅くたつにおよびてその父王を弑せし臣僕等を殺したりしが
And it came to pass, as soon as the kingdom was confirmed in his hand, that he slew his servants which had slain the king his father.
6 その弑殺人の子女等は殺さざりき是はモーセの律法の書に記されたる所にしたがへるなり即ちヱホバ命じて言たまはく子女の故によりて父を殺すべからず父の故によりて子女を殺すべからず人はみなその身の罪によりて死べき者なりと
But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
7 アマジヤまた鹽谷においてエドミ人一萬を殺せり亦セラを攻とりてその名をヨクテルとなづけしが今日まで然り
He slew of Edom in the valley of salt ten thousand, and took Selah by war, and called the name of it Joktheel unto this day.
8 かくてアマジヤ使者をヱヒウの子ヨアハズの子なるイスラエルの王ヨアシにおくりて來れ我儕たがひに面をあはせんと言しめければ
Then Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz son of Jehu, king of Israel, saying, Come, let us look one another in the face.
9 イスラエルの王ヨアシ、ユダの王アマジヤに言おくりけるはレバノンの荊棘かつてレバノンの香柏に汝の女子をわが子の妻にあたへよと言おくりたることありしにレバノンの野獣とほりてその荊棘を踏たふせり
And Jehoash the king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, The thistle that was in Lebanon sent to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son to wife: and there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trode down the thistle.
10 汝は大にエドムに勝たれば心に誇るその榮譽にやすんじて家に居れなんぞ禍を惹おこして自己もユダもともに亡んとするやと
You have indeed smitten Edom, and your heart has lifted you up: glory of this, and tarry at home: for why should you meddle to your hurt, that you should fall, even you, and Judah with you?
11 然るにアマジヤ聽ことをせざりしかばイスラエルの王ヨアシのぼり來れり是において彼とユダの王アマジヤはユダのベテシメシにてたがひに面をあはせたりしが
But Amaziah would not hear. Therefore Jehoash king of Israel went up; and he and Amaziah king of Judah looked one another in the face at Bethshemesh, which belongs to Judah.
12 ユダ、イスラエルに敗られて各人その天幕に逃かへりぬ
And Judah was put to the worse before Israel; and they fled every man to their tents.
13 是においてイスラエルの王ヨアシはアジアの子ヨアシの子なるユダの王アマジヤをベテシメシに擒へ而してエルサレムにいたりてエルサレムの石垣をエフライムの門より隅の門まで凡そ四百キユビトを毀ち
And Jehoash king of Israel took Amaziah king of Judah, the son of Jehoash the son of Ahaziah, at Bethshemesh, and came to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of Ephraim unto the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
14 またヱホバの家と王の家の庫とにあるところの金銀および諸の器をとりかつ人質をとりてサマリヤにかへれり
And he took all the gold and silver, and all the vessels that were found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and hostages, and returned to Samaria.
15 ヨアシがなしたるその餘の行爲とその能およびそのイスラエルの王アマジヤと戰ひし事はイスラエルの王の歴代志の書にしるさるるにあらずや
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoash which he did, and his might, and how he fought with Amaziah king of Judah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
16 ヨアシその先祖等とともに寝りてイスラエルの王等とともにサマリヤに葬られその子ヤラベアムこれに代りて王となれり
And Jehoash slept with his fathers, and was buried in Samaria with the kings of Israel; and Jeroboam his son reigned in his position.
17 ヨアシの子なるユダの王アマジヤはヨアハズの子なるイスラエルの王ヨアシの死てより後なほ十五年生存へたり
And Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah lived after the death of Jehoash son of Jehoahaz king of Israel fifteen years.
18 アマジヤのその餘の行爲はユダの王の歴代志の書にしるさるるにあらずや
And the rest of the acts of Amaziah, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
19 茲にエルサレムにおいて黨をむすびて彼に敵する者ありければ彼ラキシに逃ゆきけるにその人々ラキシに人をやりて彼を彼處に殺さしめたり
Now they made a conspiracy against him in Jerusalem: and he fled to Lachish; but they sent after him to Lachish, and slew him there.
20 人衆かれを馬に負せてもちきたりエルサレムにおいてこれをその先祖等とともにダビデの邑に葬りぬ
And they brought him on horses: and he was buried at Jerusalem with his fathers in the city of David.
21 ユダの民みなアザリヤをとりて王となしてその父アマジヤに代しめたり時に年十六なりき
And all the people of Judah took Azariah, which was sixteen years old, and made him king instead of his father Amaziah.
22 彼エラテの邑を建てこれを再びユダに歸せしめたり是はかの王がその先祖等とともに寝りし後なりき
He built Elath, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
23 ユダの王ヨアシの子アマジヤの十五年にイスラエルの王ヨアシの子ヤラベアム、サマリヤにおいて王となり四十一年位にありき
In the fifteenth year of Amaziah the son of Joash king of Judah Jeroboam the son of Joash king of Israel began to reign in Samaria, and reigned forty and one years.
24 彼はヱホバの目の前に惡をなし夫のイスラエルに罪を犯さしめたるネバテの子ヤラベアムの罪に離れざりき
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD: he departed not from all the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
25 彼ハマテの入處よりアラバの海までイスラエルの邊境を恢復せりイスラエルの神ヱホバがガテヘペルのアミツタイの子なるその僕預言者ヨナによりて言たまひし言のごとし
He restored the coast of Israel from the entering of Hamath unto the sea of the plain, according to the word of the LORD God of Israel, which he spoke by the hand of his servant Jonah, the son of Amittai, the prophet, which was of Gathhepher.
26 ヱホバ、イスラエルの艱難を見たまふに其は甚だ苦かり即ち繋れたる者もあらず繋れざる者もあらず又イスラエルを助る者もあらず
For the LORD saw the affliction of Israel, that it was very bitter: for there was not any shut up, nor any left, nor any helper for Israel.
27 ヱホバは我イスラエルの名を天下に塗抹んとすと言たまひしこと無し反てヨアシの子ヤラベアムの手をもてこれを拯ひたまへり
And the LORD said not that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven: but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.
28 ヤラベアムのその餘の行爲とその凡てなしたる事およびその戰爭をなせし能その昔にユダに屬し居たることありしダマスコとハマテを再びイスラエルに歸せしめたる事はイスラエルの王の歴代志の書に記さるるにあらずや
Now the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, and all that he did, and his might, how he warred, and how he recovered Damascus, and Hamath, which belonged to Judah, for Israel, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
29 ヤラベアムその先祖たるイスラエルの王等とともに寝りその子ザカリヤこれに代りて王となれり
And Jeroboam slept with his fathers, even with the kings of Israel; and Zachariah his son reigned in his position.
