Salmi 131

1 Cantico di Maalot, di Davide SIGNORE, il mio cuore non è elevato, e gli occhi miei non sono altieri; E non cammino in cose più grandi, E più ardue che a me non si conviene,

Yahweh, I am not proud and I have not thought highly about (myself/the things that I have done). And I do not concern myself about things [that you have done] that are very big or very wonderful.

2 Se non ho composta ed acchetata l'anima mia, A guisa di fanciullo novellamente spoppato appresso sua madre; [Se] l'anima mia [non è stata] in me, A guisa di fanciullo novellamente spoppato.

Instead, I am calm and peaceful, like a [small] child who lies quietly in its mother’s arms [SIM]. In the same way, I am peaceful.

3 Israele speri nel Signore Da ora in eterno.

You [my fellow] Israelis, confidently expect that Yahweh [will do good things for you], now and forever!
